    Thank you sir for your videos. Just subscribed. Just bought a 96 lt1 two weeks ago. 75k miles and running strong and close to mint condition. Could have got a C5 but C4 was my favorite car as a kid. I'm 36 now and the car is great to have. Thanks again!

      The late C4's are fantastic sport cars and right now a bargain in price. I would say a 1996 is the cream of the crop. Thanks for subbing and enjoy your new ride! -Glen (Ozz)

    One of the only good videos I've found detailing how to get the intake off. Granted, I need to get the heads off my 93 Corvette, but this (and pt.2) are helping me fly through the process of getting to them

      Hardest part will be removing the exhaust manifold bolts. Unfortunetly I don't have a video on cylinder head removal but it's not too difficult. Good luck!

    Ozzstar, I don't know if you mentioned but the fuel system should be depressurized before removing the fuel lines and the injectors. This is done by removing the fuse for the fuel pump and cranking the engine for about ten to fifteen seconds.
    You did a great job explaining a rather detailed repair. I appreciate your effort.

    Correct me if I’m wrong but the LT1 intake is a “dry” manifold. Is it really necessary to drain the radiator?

    • @ozzstars_cars
      @ozzstars_cars  4 роки тому +1

      Throttle body has coolant in it and I had to replace those hoses. Technically you could push the throttle body out of the way without draining the coolant.

    when you go to disconnect the fuel lines and also depressurize the system, would it be a problem if you have an almost full tank of fuel? I know for the fuel filter you shoukd have a quart or less but this vacuum leak just developed and I need to take care of it.

    I have a 1995 z28 and I need to replace my fuel regulator, would you recommend taking injectors off with the fuel rails to change it because it looks like its attached to it and there's no room at all any advice I will appreciate thanks

      Yes, it's easy to remove the rail. I'd go that way. Replace the injector orings while you are at it.

    My 1995 firebird lt1 nightmare to get to even the spark plugs much less the head gasket . I sure wish I had the cash to get this done .Just keep adding anti freeze . No place to do the work myself either .

    Just discovered i have a lead under my valve covers. I have a '93 corvette as you see in my picture. It's a six speed manual. I'm hoping this will help me. As you know, under the hood of one of these things is crowded with '93 technology..hoping you can help me. I don't know if you would be willing to show me how to do that or not..yes i have been working on cars all my life, but i'm only 20 and you obviously have more experience than me. i don't want to mess anything up..i love my vette!

    I understand not driving the corvette if there is salt/slush on the ground to corode wheels, exhaust, and other metal. But why not drive it if its cold out? Cold weather is great for the normally hot running C4.

    • @ozzstars_cars
      @ozzstars_cars  4 роки тому +1

      Summer tires, not recommended to drive under 35 degrees farenheit. The C4 should not be running hot. I have a video coming out soon on that subject and how to maintain correct cooling temperature. Stay tuned!

    • @corvette72778
      @corvette72778 4 роки тому

      @@ozzstars_cars well maybe not hot but they can run much warmer (when idle) than newer Vettes. 230-235 degrees idle vs 210 on a new Vette. And it's within normal range but cold air gets it closer to 190ish quicker.

    did u change it because it had a oil leak ??

    • @ozzstars_cars
      @ozzstars_cars  8 років тому

      Yes the gaskets were replaced because the oil leak was annoying. As a result engine vacuum improved and the idle was smoother. Very common issue on C4's

    • @JosephHowes2003
      @JosephHowes2003 4 роки тому

      @@ozzstars_cars how do I test if this is my problem. I don't see an oil leak but my idle is high, especially in park or neutral, bounces up and down and gas mileage is horrible. I've done just about everything else so I think it's this. I changed plugs and wires, idle control, map sensor, both o2 sensors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fuel filter, pcv, EGR and EGR switch, coolant sensors, cleaned the injectors. I eventually gave up and had a mechanic scan it. He thinks it's the ECM so I might send it in to be fixed but want to see if it's the manifold gasket first.

    • @ozzstars_cars
      @ozzstars_cars  4 роки тому

      @@JosephHowes2003 Your mechanic thinks it's the ECM??? You should find a technician that knows how to diagnose cars. Even a mechanic should know to test for a vacuum leak he needs to do a smoke test.
