I certainly enjoy your excellent videos Oz. I do all my on work on my 96 LT4. I did a complete engine and suspension rebuild and presently stripping the paint and interior to make it all new. Keep them coming.
Ozzstar y did u do that ozzstar? what was wrong with it 🤔???? is it true that if the gasket is busted u get oil in your coolant or is that just from the heads tlkn bout the lt1s of course?
Dude, wish u lived close to me so I could bring my Corvette to u and pay u to let me watch and help u fix it. I'm scared of a task like this, but now at least I do have a general idea of how to do it if I ever got the balls too. Mine is a 1991 C4 L98 and it's leaking either oil or transmission fluid badly. It's been parked in my garage and hasn't been driven in years, but I've finally got the time and the money to be able to work on it and I'm trying to watch, learn and then go apply to mine. You've been very helpful so far and by far the most in depth as far as the sequences go. I have never worked on an automobile til now, and I'm learning a lot, but it is quite overwhelming sometimes. Thanks for the videos tho. I've watched all of them on C4's numerous times
UA-cam makes it easy to learn how to do it if you watch the right vid that has the correct info. I have been working on cars for a lonnnnnng time way back when you had to read a book or learn from someone showing/telling you in person. You have the ammunition to get it done....take notes, take your time and stay determined.
Great video....good information. I am totally an amateur when it comes to working on my car. I have a 1996 with an LT4 motor. Always interesting to see how things work. LT motors are quite unique for sure. I have only done basic maintenance on my fluids. I haven't yet seen a good video on flushing the power steering fluid yet. This year I did decide to install a short shifter and did the entire installation myself. I was a bit of a project but it went just fine. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. It is very helpful for guys like me.
Thanks for the kind words Russell. It takes a lot of time to film and edit but all worth it when I can help teach someone something new. I did a power steering flush on this '93 Vette but never filmed it...maybe next time I guess. The LT4 is plenty of power to get your car down the road in a hurry....have fun and enjoy it, especially with that short shift 6 speed! I'm jealous lol Take it easy- Ozz
Ozzstar did u see my other comments man about why u did this I hope u still around and can answer that question thanks good work I know alot of ppl tlk bad about Lt1 Lt4 but these engines are for men that ain't scared of a little opti spark and water pump and all that Lt1 .,Lt4 good stuff 😎👏🍻🍺👏🍻🍻
Thank you for this great training video. I studied it carefully and did it myself on my '92. When I was done, it fired up perfectly. I have watched all your corvette videos and I plan on doing my electronic climate control unit next week. Again, thanks!!
Really helpful. I’m in Maryland working on my 94 caprice 5.7, and after doing some trans work I come to find out I have a manifold intake leake somewhere. I have gas getting into my oil
Thanks Ozzy. Made it look easy , so easy I got into mine today . Have a estimate receipt from Chevy dealer from previous owner, they quoted ( him) $350 for this job , gasket kit & right stuff $40 bucks THANKS AGAIN
Just watched your video and it looks very difficult to say the least. I know that the intake manifold gaskets need to be replaced along with new fuel injectors. Your video made it look easy but I don't have the mechanical experience that you have. Thanks again for a very well done video.
We’re you having an oil leak? Or was this done as maintenance? My 95 does have an oil leak from behind, would all this be necessary to remove/replace the oil pressure senor/sensor? Thanks in advance.
You are welcome. I've got a 96 vette with a leak right in the back there. Thought it was the rear main seal but looks like this is more likely. The ASR light is on so I'll need to look into that and she needs a new convertible hood but otherwise a spectacular car. An LS3 swap video would be awesome....just an idea. :)
Wow my wife found your garage! Mine does the same thing when I'm in the middle of a big project lol. What would we do without the weather report? Great video thank you.
Wow! Great video! My 95 MAY also be leaking from the oil sending unit. Will that typically just unscrew easy? Or is there any chance of breaking inside the block?
Thanks so much for both videos. You really did a great job, and went in depth where it was needed. I will subscribe to your videos. Thanks again. I'm ready to start the reassembly. I'm confident that my 95 is going to run better than it has since I bought it several years ago. Thanks again! You nailed it!
great job , for an lt1&4 engine we need to see more videos about how to diagnostic problems , check engine light etc. waiting for more videos sir, and thanks for this useful video.
You are welcome limiter. I have several video ideas regarding your suggestion. I need find time to make the videos. They take a lot of work to film, edit and upload. Take care and keep enjoying those Corvettes! - Ozz
Try a 50/50 mixture of acetone & ATF fluid in a small bottle with a dropper. Let it soak in @ 10 minutes. One something like the tube off the exhaust manifold or anything exposed to extreme heat, allowing it to penetrate overnight is best. Best frozen bolt remover I've even used which has never failed me!
@@ozzstars_cars The acetone which is extremely fine is the carrying agent which allows the ATF to really penetrate. Just finished your 2nd intake video. Very well done. Done almost everything myself on this Vette except the clutch. Almost attempted it but really glad I sent it out to a Corvette specialist. Connected him with Dr ZF in Arizona who gave him proper tips on reinstalling a ZF tranny as they aren't just bolt on.
I got a 1996 chevy caprice lt1 doing a stock lt1 crate engine replacement question is on throttle body gasket does it take any rtv thanks your videos are a gap nice vett
y would u do that u should just rebuild it and it will be worth more than ohh it's a caprice no yeah u doing great keep on keeping on😁👏🍻🍺👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😀👏😀👏😀👏😀👏😀👏😀😀👏😀👏😀👏😀👏😀👏
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. My 30th Anniversary Z28 is leaking from the rear of the intake manifold like you commented. I'll be doing this project in a few days. Did my Optispark, cam seal, and water pump seal today. They were leaking too and causing the opti to miss. I wish my Camaro had the room your Vette has at the rear of intake. All of the rear work will be done blind.
If your Camaro has the oil pressure sensor unit located on the top back of the engine make sure to check it's not leaking. Thanks for commenting Spinson.
damn it, that's not what I want to hear hahaha. WELL DONE, shit is cleeeeean. how many hours does it take you?? do you sentence your children to that level of punishment??
Your videos are invaluable bro. Great work!! I'm close to buying my first Corvette which is a 94' M6 C4 with 130k. I've been doing nothing but watching your videos for days. Btw, how many miles on your vette?
next time take a hammer and tap on that small pipe and ex. manifold to get a better chance to get that mamie huncher broke loose. patience. lucky sometimes. good video.
How often does an LT1 leak through the sides of the manifold as opposed to the rear.? I believe this is happening on my 94. Looks damp on the passenger side, to the inside where you would add engine oil. Slight dripping onto the garage floor. Btw... I just completed new shocks, front and rear and brakes& rotors all around using your other videos as tutorials. All came out perfect!! Thanks.
Sometimes a leak like you described can be cured by properly torquing the intake manifold bolts. They can loosen over time. If the intake was removed at one time and the bolts did not have thread sealant applied the oil can wick out. I would say the rear and front leak is most common. Also inspect the valve cover gaskets for proper sealing. Good to know the shock vids helped you out. Thanks for your comment and take it easy. -Glen
Ok thanks for the reply. I was thinking valve cover gaskets in addition as well. Might as well inspect the pcv valve too while I'm in there. Looks like a project for next weekend. Always value your input. Later.
One question.....how do I know if I have a wheel bearing that is bad or nearly bad. I have done some research and from what I can tell if you have the car in the air with the tires on you should have almost no play when you try and wiggle the tire up and down. Is this correct? Please advise. Thanks....Russell
Yes, if there is excessive play the bearing may be bad or need to have the proper preload set. Be sure its not worn out ball joints. If it is very wobbly then most likely there is bearing failure. Many times that will NOT be the case though when the bearing is bad. While the tire is off the ground, spin the wheel and hold a suspension part with your free hand (like a shock or strut), feel for excessive vibration and listen for abnormal noise. Wheel bearing diagnosis can often be tricky to find.. you can hear it going down the road at 30-40+ mph it will "howl" and make a loud annoying sound. Hope that helps you out Russ
Not on an LT1 intake...hardly worth it to me. I like my corvettes original and stock. the rough texture of the aluminum would take a LOT of grinding and polishing. Good luck if you go for it and thanks for watching and commenting!
Ozz, great video, i have a 95 and I am replacing the water pump, I am hearing both to add RTV and FELPRO 2 emails said do not add any sealant place it dry to very clean surface. Where do you stand on this. FIber gasket dry or Permatex coolant gasket maker on the fiber gasket combo. Thank you sir
Great video. I bought a 1997 Chevy Camaro SS LT1 in November. I noticed it has an oil leak but haven't looked under the car yet to find where it's coming from. It is leaking from the rear of the motor somewhere. Watching this video makes me think it is coming from the intake manifold. I may attempt to do the job myself now watching this helpful video. I am just waiting for a steady 30-40 degree weather to take a look. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Udlooz, glad the video was helpful. Best way to check is with a small observation mirror back there and also getting under the car. If the oil is leaking up high on the back of the motor it's a good chance its the intake manifold leaking, also check the oil pressure sensor/sender, they are known to leak oil. Good luck, you can fix it! - Ozz
You don't have to drain the anti-freeze or remove the throttle body coolant hoses if you keep them attached and just separate the TB from the intake. I wanted to clean the TB out completely from both sides and did not want to chance any liquid getting into the Optispark which is under the throttle body. Once that happens kiss it goodbye in a short period of time and plan on a few more hours to replace it.
I've been wanting to change my intake gasket for years on my 92. I have a small leak that I can see that ends up at the oil pan plug. Noticed that my intake appears to have been changed before because I see a blue RTV and the front of the intake and I know that production used black RTV. Anyway great video enjoyed it very much.
blue silicone is garbage. use the good stuff like i show in the video. do it once and done. thanks for watching and commenting. get that leak fixed! take it easy - Ozz
I have a 94LT1 installed in a 68 Impala SS. My manifold is also leaking. I have the EGR-delete and was wondering about two things. I didn't notice if you released the pressure on the fuel lines. I may have missed that. Also, is it absolutely necessary to remove the injectors and fuel rail from the manifold?
+Double Aught part 1 of this series shows the fuel line disconnect. It does not show the fuel pressure relief but I have a seperate video that shows it ua-cam.com/video/ViKiDY6DMp0/v-deo.html. If you want to replace the intake manifold gaskets plan on getting the injector rail out of the way. Take it easy - ozz
I was watching your videos 1 and 2 on the manifold gasket replacement for the LT1 Corvette C$. Two questions. 1. I am pretty handy and have all of the right tools. I have a 1990 Corvette and it is leaking antifreeze and very small amounts of oil. I could see the antifreeze on the manifold. Is my 1990 close enough where your video should work for me? 2. you did not mention how you cleaned the china walls. I can see what look like buff marks on the China Wall. Can you elaborate exactly how you cleaned it? I know you had to use a scraper, but you used something else as well, what?
Your '90 Corvette L98 has a different engine design but does have a 350 cubic inch block so technically the china wall is pretty much the same. 1992 was the first year for the LT1 in a Corvette and used through 1996. I never use a buffing wheel to clean gasket surfaces, even though on steel/cast iron it is acceptable. I use a razor blade scraper and then clean up with brake cleaner and a clean cloth. Some extra fine grade sandpaper cleanup by hand if the grime is really difficult to remove. I work by the hour not flat rate so I take my time getting the job done ;-) Hope that helps you out Gerry, take it Easy -Ozz
Thanks for the well done video. I am starting this job on my 93 vette. Front leaking onto Opti. How much snow did you end up getting? We got 30 inches here last January. (PA)
HI. I brought a 96 Impala SS that was sitting in a garage for about 6 years and I have to replace the manifold gasket and after watching your video it isnt as hard as i thought it would b but beofore i do it i was wondering how long did it take u to complete the job?
I am working on an issue with my 94 LT1. I got coolant in my oil Was hoping it had something to do with intake. The only thing I see that could cause it from the intake maybe those large plug holes in the water chambers of the underside of intake. Do you have a take on this problem?
The intake on the LT1 of this generation does not have any coolant flowing through it. You need to do a compression test to find where the issue is....most likely a bad head gasket or cracked cylinder head. Has the car been overheated? Head gasket issues are not that common with the LT1, they can often get up to 235 degrees with no issue, but anything over that is suspect. Good luck Ana
I plan on doing the exact same thing to my 96 Corvette. I plan on ordering the same gasket kit FEL-PRO MS95580 along with the Permatex 25229. I do have a small oil leak in the rear of the intake and hoping it is the old bead of silicone that has failed. Is there any benefit to cleaning the intake manifold? Is there anything I am missing as far as the gaskets go? I really appreciate your video....it's the best I found. Thanks so much.
Cleaning the outside of the intake will make it look pretty. Unless there is major carbon build up inside the intake that's useless time spent. Watch both parts of the video again and it will be downhill from there when you do the job. Good luck, thanks for the comment and subscribe for more if you haven't already!
Thanks so much Glen, I have had the tb off in the past just to clean and noticed a moderate amount of carbon....kind of smelled like gas and black residue (I guess carbon). I will watch the videos again and take it from there. You are doing a great job on here. I will be sure to let you know how it all works out. This will be a small winter project lol. Thanks again!
is that the factory service manual youre looking at? id like some literature for other projects. i think my fuel sending unit is bad because my gas gauge is stuck on lo
did it run noticibley different after the repair? I have mine getting worked on now. I have heads and cam and full long tube exhaust with every Bolton possible and mine had bad power under 2k rpm and loud miss fires between shifts due to vacuum leak
Besides no more oil dripping along the back of the engine it did run better. One less vacuum leak and on occasion i would see a puff of blue smoke out the exhaust pipe. All that is gone now. You should notice a real nice difference when you get your car back, as long as it was done correctly. Enjoy it
I got Chevy's master mechanic hooking me up. port and polished intake to go with it so I'm excited. I've had it about 6months and drive it about three hours lol. I can't wait dude!
im looking at replacing my intake with an Air Gapped version … but I have the camaro and the windshield goes over the motor quiet a ways so im a little nervous about it
that's what im thinking but gotta get the oil leak fixed, its out of the back, its leaking down the back of the block on the passanger side. gets all over my manifolds and stinks something awful... I did an intake on a suburban, but an engine bay you can sit in vs a camaro that you can barely squeeze your hand in …. big difference there..
Excellent Video. It was really detailed, and it's great that you also know all of the names of the components and sensors to help us out. Thanks again from a LT1 Camaro owner.
hi I have leak back there to on my 95 lt1 can it sometimes just be the oil pressure senders alone, and can they be replaced without all that work , and how would I know if its just the oil senders and not the head gaskets. please help.
very nice video.. wanted to know what you used on the throttle body to get it so clean! Thanks for the vid... keep'em coming... I'm right behind you! LOL
I use Berryman B12, it's my go to carbon remover. It will also melt some plastics and remove paint, strong stuff. Next video is coming out soon, stay tuned Victor and thanks for watching!
Yes it should be very similiar but with tighter access near the firewall. Intake manifold bolt torque specs, first tightening pass (8Nm) 71 lb in, second pass (48Nm) 35 lb. Ft.
Awesome vid, part 1 and 2! (liked and subscribed ;) ) I'm troubleshooting a problem with coolant not returning to the radiator/surge tank from the overflow tank on a 1990 Vett with L98 motor. The line to the overflow was clogged so I though I had her fixed when I blew the crud out of the line, but the problem persists. Guess I'm to the point of troubleshooting bigger problems now, like the intake manifold, or head gasket leaks. Any advice?
I'm sure the entire cooling system is clogged. Its going to need a hug flush, including the radiator. To do the job right, both knock sensors should be removed. I would take off all hoses, tanks and flush all the crud out of the radiator. Then make sure the water pump is circulating the coolant. Thanks for liking and subscribing, good luck with the repair
+Jose Lopez-Rodas try a google search on the swap. Chevy truck forums may be able to guide you in the right direction. Sounds like a fun project, take care Jose
removal and install about an 1.5 hours doing it professionally with all the correct tools. Cleaning the intake and throttle body adds more time. A do it yourselfer probably an entire day. Your car the access is harder, that will add time. Good luck
I have a 1994 c4 with 80,000. miles that i just bought. The engine doesn't idle down below 1200 rpm's I looked for a vacuum leak didn't see one. The guy i bought the car from just had the optispark and water pump and belt replaced. Can you help me..
My mechanic has taken my intake off 3 times in it is still getting a leak towards the back of the engine. He has replace the gaskets for the thickest gaskets they sell and it
Super job Oz! What book do you use Bentley, Haynes, OEM? While you were half way, didn't you feel like keeping at it and have the heads and intake manifold worked (matched ports and a bit of polishing). Thanks for documenting. I really enjoy following your maintenance, repair and mods vids. Keep it up!
Thanks for the kind words Has been. I have the GM factory service manuals. Yeah I admit it crossed my mind to go .30 over on the pistons and work the heads, but the engine runs strong, only 59K miles! Take care
Ozzstar No bottom end work. Only breathing work and a good dyno tune. You would not beleive how much that alone would wake her up.... add long tubes and its like pure sex!

Just bought a 96 LT4. This video helped big time! Saved me a lot of cash by doing it myself. Thanks a ton, Ozz!
+MahaloMoFo you are welcome. Enjoy your 'new' toy! Thanks for commenting
I can’t thank you enough. I’m following your suggestions to get my 93 intake reinstalled. It was leaking on both ends.
Glad to help Mario!
Thank you for all your Video's about a C4 CORVETTE. You are my first stop on how to fix something on my car. Keep up the good work
+Gene thank you for watching and commenting
Russell MacKenzie 🍻🍻🍻🍻sounds like a auto parts store👏👏👏
Hey, glad to help ya out Clinton! Take it easy - Ozz
Hey Dan glad to help you out! Thanks for your comment. Take it easy - Ozz
Just watched your video and it looks very difficult to say the least. I know that the intake manifold gaskets need to be replaced along with new fuel injectors. Your video made it look easy but I don't have the mechanical experience that you have. Thanks again for a very well done video.
At least you know your limits and what the job to expect. It's actually not too difficult, just takes some time. Thanks for your comment.
What a great video. I need to replace the intake gasket on my 97 LT1. Thanks so much for putting such a great video together.
Glad the vid was helpful to you Barry, I appreciate the comment!
brilliant video. I have a 94 9C1 Bethlehem NY police cruiser in the UK, so good of you guys to share your knoweldge. Cheers from across the pond! :-)
Thanks. That must be a one of a kind car in the UK? Cool 👍
We’re you having an oil leak? Or was this done as maintenance? My 95 does have an oil leak from behind, would all this be necessary to remove/replace the oil pressure senor/sensor? Thanks in advance.
Oil leak, not maintenance. I would not pull the intake to replace the pressure sensor.
@@ozzstars_cars how can I find out if it’s the oil pressure sending unit or If the car needs manifold gasket? Thanks 🙏
@@stx956 clean the area and check for leaks
@@ozzstars_cars I do smell burnt oil and can see some light smoke coming from the engine bay.. would the oil sending unit cause this?
Awesome. I've got a 95 I'm about to do this on. Thank you!
Have fun!
Recently bought a '97 Trans Am WS6 M6.. lovin it! My first V8.
Enjoy your new toy! Thanks for watching
Thanks!!
Fantastic video!!!!! Finally, great step by step instruction with correlation to the shop manual. God bless you and keep 'em coming!
Thanks Paul. I am planning on doing a couple of more Corvette repair vdeos soon, it's been a while since I filmed one.
All I need is the sponsorship to due the swap or a person who has a bunch of money just wanting to spend it and me to do the work. ;-)
Wow my wife found your garage! Mine does the same thing when I'm in the middle of a big project lol. What would we do without the weather report? Great video thank you.
Haha, thanks for the comment! P.S. sunny skies today, 65⁰ 😁
Wow! Great video! My 95 MAY also be leaking from the oil sending unit. Will that typically just unscrew easy? Or is there any chance of breaking inside the block?
Anything is possible but take your time to prevent a hassle.
Thanks so much for both videos. You really did a great job, and went in depth where it was needed. I will subscribe to your videos. Thanks again. I'm ready to start the reassembly. I'm confident that my 95 is going to run better than it has since I bought it several years ago. Thanks again! You nailed it!
I appreciate the comment Jim and smash that Thanks button if you get a chance.
@jimfrye8959 Did you complete the manifold job? I'm studying to videos in preparation for my '94 Vette
great video shows a perfect intake manifold gasket replacement, keep it up man very ,very helpful....
Thanks Buddy. Once I get some time I have more videos to make.
great job , for an lt1&4 engine we need to see more videos about how to diagnostic problems , check engine light etc.
waiting for more videos sir, and thanks for this useful video.
You are welcome limiter. I have several video ideas regarding your suggestion. I need find time to make the videos. They take a lot of work to film, edit and upload. Take care and keep enjoying those Corvettes! - Ozz
Thanx for the help man, I think this is my next project
glad the info was helpful. Get those leaks fixed! Thanks for watching and commenting - Ozz
At 8:36 when you said “cotton rags” I had to rewind it because I thought you said “c*nt rags” 😂
😂 Anything is possible. lol Thanks for the comment Paul!
I've heard of it but never tried it.
Great job- good teacher'- easy to follow- learned A lot- Thank you

+Ozzstar Ended up doing this after work today. Went quick and easy after watching your video. Thanks again!
you got it knocked out! good job
how do you clean your engine bay without ruining the optispark? looks awesome
I hand clean with towels and a spray bottle with mild detergent.
damn it, that's not what I want to hear hahaha. WELL DONE, shit is cleeeeean. how many hours does it take you?? do you sentence your children to that level of punishment??
@@331fox82ut Haha! Actually once its cleaned really good it doesn't take much to maintain it. Definitely keep water away from the Optispark!
Your videos are invaluable bro. Great work!! I'm close to buying my first Corvette which is a 94' M6 C4 with 130k. I've been doing nothing but watching your videos for days. Btw, how many miles on your vette?
My Corvette has 59k miles, I am the second owner. Thanks for the comment and good luck with your new 'toy'!
Thanks for the video. Very good instructions
Glad it helped you out Larry!
Thank you much for the video! Very informative and helpful!
You're welcome Ruben
Man you are awesome! wish I had you for my macanic. nice vedio
Thanks David for the compliment! I appreciate your comment
next time take a hammer and tap on that small pipe and ex. manifold to get a better chance to get that mamie huncher broke loose. patience. lucky sometimes.
Later.
How about a video for a head gasket replacement. My 92 C4 needs it bad brother
I would film it if I had one here but I don't Joe. Take it easy - Ozz
Hey brother thanks a lot I have a 94 c4 and it needs lots of tlc but I think I cane get it up and running great video thanks again
Your welcome Dennis, have fun with your new toy.
Did your intake bolts have sealant applied ? Do they need sealant applied ?
You may want to watch the video again and don't skip.
Good video, Thank you! I'm thinking of polishing the top of the manifold on my 94 LT1 because it's so ugly. Ever try this?
Not on an LT1 intake...hardly worth it to me. I like my corvettes original and stock. the rough texture of the aluminum would take a LOT of grinding and polishing. Good luck if you go for it and thanks for watching and commenting!
Did you bleed the system when you were filling the coolant?
Yes, that is important.
Hey Ozz what did you use to clean the china wall & injectors
***** i used a razor blade and carb solvent to clean the china walls...thanks for the question Neil
your welcome thanks for letting me know
Mr Shadow still always

- Ozz
Thanks again....when you get a chance, how about rear wheel bearings....thanks!
If I'm fortunate enough to have a C4 Corvette with a bad wheel bearing I will film it. lol Until then one less headache is just fine with me! haha
Power steering pump leaking out back of pump. How common is it for intake manifold gasket to leak? How many miles on the vette?
LT1 engines are known for intake manifold leaks. Age and not always miles
So if you have to remove the throttle body, is there really a need to drain the coolant and remove the hoses and other things attached to it?
+Ozzstar Ok thanks man. The injectors were replaced about six months ago.
Your welcome Double, here is another LT1 fuel injector vid on my channel that may help you out ua-cam.com/video/rWoAJBHglKg/v-deo.html
Can you post link to part 1 plz
how come u didn't use plaster for the fuel injectors
Yes, this helps, thank you for the reply.
Thanks for the well done video. I am starting this job on my 93 vette. Front leaking onto Opti.
How much snow did you end up getting? We got 30 inches here last January. (PA)
We didn't get a flake of snow....all talk from the weather pros. Glad the video was helpful, thanks for commenting and watching Gene
HI. I brought a 96 Impala SS that was sitting in a garage for about 6 years and I have to replace the manifold gasket and after watching your video it isnt as hard as i thought it would b but beofore i do it i was wondering how long did it take u to complete the job?
I can do this job in a few hours. filming and editing probably added an additional 5 hours. making videos for me is a labor of love
Thanks I needed that Info. I found the leak and the miss.
is that the factory service manual youre looking at? id like some literature for other projects. i think my fuel sending unit is bad because my gas gauge is stuck on lo
Yes Chris it is the FSM.
Is this a good manual for a beginner mechanic? Does it discuss diagnosing gasket issues as well as instructions on replacing the head gasket?
Great job well done
Thank you
Did not see the intake being put back on is the on is the RTV silicone dry is silicone dry or wet when that happens
Good video but skipped steps
I used gasket maker. Applied to the china wall like shown in the video and then the intake is set in place and torqued, it won't work if dry.
did it run noticibley different after the repair?
I can't wait dude!
im looking at replacing my intake with an Air Gapped version … but I have the camaro and the windshield goes over the motor quiet a ways so im a little nervous about it
Don't get in to deep.
that's what im thinking but gotta get the oil leak fixed, its out of the back, its leaking down the back of the block on the passanger side. gets all over my manifolds and stinks something awful... I did an intake on a suburban, but an engine bay you can sit in vs a camaro that you can barely squeeze your hand in …. big difference there..
Great video going too be doing an engine change soon upgrading to a 383 headers
Nice!
Excellent Video. It was really detailed, and it's great that you also know all of the names of the components and sensors to help us out. Thanks again from a LT1 Camaro owner.

Good news Adam!
hi I have leak back there to on my 95 lt1 can it sometimes just be the oil pressure senders alone, and can they be replaced without all that work , and how would I know if its just the oil senders and not the head gaskets. please help.
use an inspection mirror and flashlight to look for oil dripping out of the sensor(s). It is possible to replace the sensors w/o removing the intake.
ok thanks so much your videos are great
You are welcome Peter and thank you

Job well done my friend, looks a bit easier to do that job on your car than my 98 Firebird Formula LS1
Yes the intake sits very close to the firewall on a Firebird. 😉 Thanks for the comment.
Would this vidoes information be the same for my 1994 chevy impala ss with a LT1 5.7 and what are the intake manifold torque specs?
Thanks for liking and subscribing, good luck with the repair

hey ozz i gotta tackle this on my 95 z28 whats the total hours it took just on removal and install?
removal and install about an 1.5 hours doing it professionally with all the correct tools. Cleaning the intake and throttle body adds more time. A do it yourselfer probably an entire day. Your car the access is harder, that will add time. Good luck
