I grew up listening to Franki Valli on AM radio in NYC when I was a kid. About 12 year ago, I had the pleasure of being in a recording studio with one of the greats, Charlie Callelo, who worked with Franki and other big performers in his life time. I'm 61 years old now and I'm going to see Franki perform for the first time in a few weeks. I can't wait.
I'm 69 years old and my story is like yours. I've been hearing him on 45 records at parties since I am 8 years old. Now I am going to see him live in Florida, and I cannot contain my joy at seeing this icon of American music. Thanks for video.
My cousin used to sing with him on the corners in Newark NJ, my cousin said that Frankie was Destin to make it because of his singing Range my cousin said he could change notes at a drop of a hat that's how good he was, Frankie is still going strong at 88 yrs old God bless him he's still a great singer.

I think he should at least disclose he lip syncs instead of trying to convince people he’s actually signing. People pay good money for his concerts and I believe they should at least know the truth. I still go to his concerts even though I know he lip syncs because I’m still such a huge fan.

If you add gas, tolls, and meals, I think I spent $600 in total for my one night getaway to see Frankie Valli. If I was not a fan, why would I spend so much to see him “perform”? Just because I’m a fan doesn’t mean I have to blindly ignore the truth. I assure you I’ve studied his performances very closely and I’m positive he doesn’t sing live. Though passive concert goers may not notice, anyone who truly examines his performances knows the truth. I’m glad most of his fans are happy when they attend his concerts. I’m such a fan that I attend Frankie Valli concerts every time he comes remotely close to my area even though I know he lips syncs. In 2019, I even waited outside the stage door to meet Frankie after the concert. I’m so glad I was able to meet such a musical legend! As much as I love and admire him, I wish he didn’t pretend he’s actually singing when he’s clearly not. If you pay money to attend his concerts, I think you deserve to know the truth. On their UA-cam channel, I asked Frankie’s former backing group, “The Modern Gentlemen”, if he lip synced, and they replied they weren’t allowed to talk about it. That seems like an odd response if he legitimately sang live. I’ve researched Frankie Valli for many years and watched plenty of concert videos on UA-cam. Every single concert since 2002 sounds 100% identical to every last note. Please explain how that would be the case if he sang live. Prior to 2002, Frankie sounded completely different and his performances weren’t identical. You can even find more modern close up videos of Frankie barely moving his mouth to the music. You probably won’t look into that because you don’t want to believe this sad fact. Being a fan of Frankie doesn’t mean I have to deny reality.

I remember hearing the Four Seasons Sherry on K-men 129AM radio in Riverside California on 8/7/1962. I did not like it at first. Big Girls Don't Cry was my favorite a little later. Sherry over time grew on me. Saw them at Melodyland in May of 1967. Seen them several times since. It is hard to believe that was 60 Years Ago when Sherry came out!!!
Isn't this totally great? There is no way for me to see the concert live when it comes to my city in September. I was 14 in 1962 when Sherry hit the charts. This is fantastic. And he's 88? My god.

I just watched a PBS show with him, and it was dated 2022, also! They did a few interviews with him in between songs and he was asked how he has kept his voice. He said he sings at least a half an hour every day, and prefers to do it in the shower. He said the shower was good for his voice. I'm sure he meant the steam and moist air was good for his voice. I couldn't believe his voice either.
Frankie is the most incredible singer ever. At 88 years old to be able to sing perfectly in tune and hit all of the high notes perfectly, in the same keys, and even with a couple of tunes transposed up to higher keys instead of down, is just incredible, truly immortal.

When he was singing his Adams apple was vibrating so I don't think he was lip syncing. I paid attention to that during the first few songs on this video. The person who recorded was sitting a little off to the dude was it was a perfect view for that. I just watched a video of him performing at Mohican Sun (something like that) last year. He was terrible in that show and most people thought he has lip syncing, so I wanted to compare that to this one. In that one he hardly opened us mouth, never blinked, smiled, looked around and hardly moved at all. He looked liked a robot. He looks very different in this show even though the video quality isn't very good.
I think one thing that has kept this singer healthy to keep singing is that he always appears a little under weight where most older singers tend to put on lots of weight .
Lip synching or not, at 88 he looks great and is a true honor to see on stage. Look at all the younger singers in there 20's who lip synch all the time!!!
Have to say...lip syncing or whatever....it's worth everyone together in the audience singing along is fabulous. This is done a lot more in Europe. Thanks for the show!
The pitch is being adjusted as he's singing, I occasionally heard a few notes that were "in tune" but not the right part of the melody, almost like someone hitting the wrong button on a MIDI keyboard. I don't think any lip syncing is going on thats almost more difficult to do

He’s 88 YO and sounds just like he did back when recorded, as I’m 75 and remember this very well. The voice didn’t change at all. I too am from Newark, NJ, His hometown.
Groovin and My Girl were sung live. I saw him in March, and that song was very clearly live. He was actually putting energy into the song, and you could tell he was really putting out the air for those notes. Just that song alone was worth the price of going to see him.

Go on UA-cam and listen to all his performances over the last 20 years vs performances before that. Notice they all sound identical since around 2002, but that wasn’t the case before that time. I even asked his former backing group, “The Modern Gentlemen”, on their UA-cam channel if he lip synced and they said they couldn’t discuss that. If he didn’t lip sync, it would be so easy to deny, but they weren’t able to do that. Sound engineers also have stated they have no control over Frankie’s mic. There’s even videos on tiktok showing his lip movements out of sync with the “voice” coming out. No matter how much you love Frankie, this is an undeniable fact.

Truth is once you hit a certain age you just can’t do it anymore and you either quit or “cheat”. Most people honestly probably can’t tell or even care. Most people just want it to sound like it does on the album anyways and don’t realize half if not more are giving them just that. Lip syncing to the album. It’s kinda sad but understandable. It’s a business and it’s always just been a show.
True, but there’s some musicians who don’t even have to quit or cheat. Look at Jay Siegel from the Tokens. He still sounds nearly the same from 1961 and doesn’t lip sync.

Of course he is lip-syncing. Any musician would know this. There are time he starts singing and the mic isn't even up to his mouth yet. Doesn't matter. He puts on a helluva show for an 88 year old man! Many of the concerts with younger artists that people go see are absolutely lip-syncing themselves.

Frankie is the most incredible singer ever. At 88 years old to be able to sing perfectly in tune and hit all of the high notes perfectly, in the same keys, and even with a couple of tunes transposed up to higher keys instead of down, is just incredible, truly immortal.
I hate to break it to you, but he lip syncs the whole concert.

Yeah, watching this video ,I thought is was my I pad, it looked like he wasn’t really singing, lip sinking. But truly Amazing voice! Kudos Frankie at 88 yrs young! I remember these songs I’m 69 , & still remember lots of these songs. Great Singer & Artist. God Bless You!
When he was singing his Adams apple was vibrating so I don't think he was lip syncing. I paid attention to that during the first few songs on this video. The person who recorded was sitting a little off to the dude was it was a perfect view for that.
I just watched a video of him performing at Mohican Sun (something like that) last year. He was terrible in that show and most people thought he has lip syncing, so I wanted to compare that to this one. In that one he hardly opened us mouth, never blinked, smiled, looked around and hardly moved at all. He looked liked a robot. He looks very different in this show even though the video quality isn't very good.

The pitch is being adjusted as he's singing, I occasionally heard a few notes that were "in tune" but not the right part of the melody, almost like someone hitting the wrong button on a MIDI keyboard. I don't think any lip syncing is going on thats almost more difficult to do

He’s 88 YO and sounds just like he did back when recorded, as I’m 75 and remember this very well. The voice didn’t change at all. I too am from Newark, NJ, His hometown.

Groovin and My Girl were sung live. I saw him in March, and that song was very clearly live. He was actually putting energy into the song, and you could tell he was really putting out the air for those notes. Just that song alone was worth the price of going to see him.
He doesn’t sing anything live these days. Every performance of My Girl/Groovin sounds identical.

@@SpeakinMyLanguage1 I’ve always been a fan of Frankie, but facts are facts. He doesn’t sing live anymore and hasn’t for 20 years. Go on UA-cam and listen to all his performances over the last 20 years vs performances before that. Notice they all sound identical since around 2002, but that wasn’t the case before that time. I even asked his former backing group, “The Modern Gentlemen”, on their UA-cam channel if he lip synced and they said they couldn’t discuss that. If he didn’t lip sync, it would be so easy to deny, but they weren’t able to do that. Sound engineers also have stated they have no control over Frankie’s mic. There’s even videos on tiktok showing his lip movements out of sync with the “voice” coming out. No matter how much you love Frankie, this is an undeniable fact.

Truth is once you hit a certain age you just can’t do it anymore and you either quit or “cheat”. Most people honestly probably can’t tell or even care. Most people just want it to sound like it does on the album anyways and don’t realize half if not more are giving them just that. Lip syncing to the album. It’s kinda sad but understandable. It’s a business and it’s always just been a show.
True, but there’s some musicians who don’t even have to quit or cheat. Look at Jay Siegel from the Tokens. He still sounds nearly the same from 1961 and doesn’t lip sync.

Of course he is lip-syncing. Any musician would know this. There are time he starts singing and the mic isn't even up to his mouth yet. Doesn't matter. He puts on a helluva show for an 88 year old man! Many of the concerts with younger artists that people go see are absolutely lip-syncing themselves.
