Awesome fellas, I played for years too, guitar and mandolin, world music, Irish/ Scottish, Hungarian, Russian, Gypsy etc. These two jigs always go together perfectly. Same notes in scale. We played with a third jig but I can’t remember what it was now without looking it up. My band played it for years too. I’m in Australia and awesome to see how this wonderful, clever music can affect the souls of people all over the world forever. The world’s native musics are wonderous and mind boggling! X Maybe the Butterfly?
Deadly stuff lads, mighty Craic altogether, if my eyes were closed I'd swear I was in Matt Molloys. Great to see Irish trad is universally linguistic..
It amazes me that all the work into getting a group together and play so wonderfully and people in the background just pass by like nothing is happening.
+Tom will not sure where the location is they're playing, maybe a college campus or a street, but if I didn't have class soon/something else important to do that I couldn't avoid, I'd be listening to this! If I happened to have my whistle or uilleann pipes and knew this song, I might even ask to join them!
Some people have jobs to go to etc etc. I agree with the sentiment though. Sometimes I'm walking to work and hear an amazing busker and I really want to stop and watch and its annoying I can't.
Stumbled across this yesterday (15-APR-2020)... LOVED IT and emailed the link to my daughter who takes lessons in Irish dancing. She loved it too and danced a jig around her living room to it. Whether listening or dancing, what a great way to alleviate the tedium of the coronavirus lockdown. 😀😀😀 *_R_*
Coleman Morrison and Killoran, namely the Holy Trinity of lrish fiddle were three dynamic fiddle players in New York in the 20s and 30s Led by Coleman they revolutionized lrish music forever really
Yes, it's Uilleann or Union pipes, but without drones or regulators. Commonly known as a practice set or one for people who are stating out, though this guy looks and sounds pretty competent. Look up "Uilleann_pipes" on Wikipedia.
This is probably my favorite version of this song right now. The Irish Experience has a quasi-rockish version (no drums or elec guitars but the feel is more celtic rock--which I do like) but this has UILLEANN PIPES which automatically makes it better!
I've really enjoyed this set. I love that you do it four times through. I always find that I'm just getting warmed up by the third go round. Keep it up! Love seeing the music of my ancestors played all round the world
Sin go hana mhaith at fad !!!...great to see musicians from another tradition playing Irish tunes....Kesh jig is mucho bueno !!....Spanish from Galeca maybe ?
Neu Khal because I think they are good, people like you that insult people sitting behind a keyboard are cowards, but someday someone on the street will deal with a smart arse like you..but hey if you really want to be a big man, heres my address, an Rinn, Co Waterford Ireland, go to Mooneys pub and ask for me. If you cant pronounce my name write it down and we will see how big a fucking man you are...
Just to point out, kesh has been around long before bothy. Take a look at some older renditions/recordings of it. There are actually some very nice ones out there.
I absolutely love this. I listen to it over and over again and i still cant get enough! I would pay to watch these guys play! Thanx sooo much for this video!! Amazing, absolutely genius mashing these 2 jigs up together!!!!!!
Wow fantastic love your version so much! Excellent playing :) I'm Irish and played the tin whistle, takes me back to playing with my traditional music school when I was young. Thanks for uploading :)
What fabulous music and good looking young men, forgive my ignorance, where are you located? This is the traditional old style Irish music, played in time for dancing and complete with a serious face, required of "old time" Irish players...
amazing.! was the first fiddle intentially playing at the tip.. its like back to old times where the mix comes from actual playing. not like now where most is done in post. cant wait till i can play this as good as these guys
this... THIS!... this is awesome... its good to see ANYBODY playing music not native to their homeland.. this makes my heart sing.. i play arabic and middle eastern tunes from time to time on my oud, and my mandolin..

fantastic fellas , stunning .
Brilliant! It’s great to see trad Irish music being played in many different countries. Shows its universal appeal.
Great job! Great pace

Raza tocando Jig Irlandes, a huevo!!!!!
This is pretty damn close to the classic Bothy Band version!
That was the Bothy band version.. Deadly stuff, more power to them...
Group name? Well done!
Sons of the San Patricios?
There is a history of U.S. Mex.-Am. war defectors fighting for the Mexicans and becoming known as the San Patricios.

It's not just the right music music, its the right feeling - loose and fun and rolling down a hill. 6000 miles vanishes!
Totally fantastic! Don't ever quit for a minute! (I'm an Irish Traditional Musician myself, you guys ROCK!)
SHAM rock.....
何回聴いても飽きないこの曲😊

For sure they got it good. Now I also see where boondock saints for their music haha
Great to see Irish music played with such rhythm and enthusiasm. A big "thank you" from mid-west Ireland.
Viva San Patricio y sus vastagos en Latinoamerica! Magnifico!
It amazes me that all the work into getting a group together and play so wonderfully and people in the background just pass by like nothing is happening.

But it sound that they already have a audience right in front of them, hear the clapping at the end of the vid?

Oh, and I should have said ... well played.
They've obviously been listening carefully to their Bothy Band recordings too :-D

This version is also very good.

Great stuff. Sounds like you have listened to the Bothy Band. Their first album in the late 70's.
Now let's see them play the lambeg drum.. and some sash my father wore.. 🇬🇧 🍊 lol
How does this music make an American from southern California with Mexican roots want to feel Irish? Noice
Sin go hana mhaith at fad !!!...great to see musicians from another tradition playing Irish tunes....Kesh jig is mucho bueno !!....Spanish from Galeca maybe ?

Isn't it wonderful how music can dissolve borders and unite people in celebration of life!
Also, for a large outdoor group the audio is so nicely balanced across the instruments.
This is awesome! I wish the bodhran player was facing the camera. I need to play it and it would be great to see him play.
I play bodhran as well, I'll stick a video up so you can see how it's played, I also play flute, whistle and pipes too...
