- Fans deserve better. It's frustrating to be over a month past the end of the season with no clear direction. The fluff news pieces aren’t cutting it.
Today's video is a raw and unfiltered rant about the current state of our club. I'm dropping the filter and voicing my frustrations.

Like Newcastle under Ashley, the owners rely on the fans' loyalty and big crowds to keep the club going. But you can see the cracks in the support appearing. I know a few lads who are not renewing their season tickets, and TBH why should they? You can get tickets easily enough and financially you do not know what you are buying. No manager, a weak squad, inexperienced and poor players being played and decent players leaving. Only avoided relegation by six points last season, I don't think it's going to get much better next season TBH.

Cardiff fan here. Interesting video. I feel your pain. It's about time Sunderland had a bit of success, especially with all the money that's gone into Newcastle these last few years. That aside, I've always admired Sunderland fans. No matter the distance or league position, you guys always travel in numbers. Good luck next season, apart from against us, of course.

Nothing they are doing makes sense from a pure footballing stance.
It's down to the leadership style of KLD, which is to simply kick the can to someone else...
I fully expect this to drag on until the players come back and they'll just appoint Dodds to the role permanantly.

Its been an absolute joke since sacking Mowbray how we’ve been ran and the clock is ticking and Dodds just needs to go completely he’s an idiot and is holding up so many managers from coming but he’s best mates with speakman and kld and they wont do it
I respect Dodds to be fair. But agree he can't be around 1st team anymore, gone or to the Unders levels

Its at the point now where all the enthusiasm i had built up from getting promoted from League 1 and making championship playoffs the season after had all but evaporated. Im starting to want KLD to fuck off, and ive wanted Speakman to fuck off for ages.

Hi Anth, great video. As you (rightly) say, these things need to be said. Amazed - but sadly not surprised - the new head coach is STILL not resolved. To be fair, it could well be a lot of negotiations are actually going on and the club may not wish to announce anything which could be misinterpreted or prematurely celebrated.
Looks like Steve Cooper may well end up at Leicester. Burnley, Hull and Norwich are also after New managers, so it is definitely a tough market at the moment. That said, SAFC should have had a new man in place at the end of last season. Someone they could have announced at the last home game.
I do wonder, does KLD seriously understand the sheer potential of the club he owns? Speakman has got much right but also an awful lot wrong. The needless sacking of Mowbray being a case in point. Had the board not been so trigger-happy and frankly short sighted, I feel Mowbray could at least have got us to the play offs again. Obviously Mowbray's health issue would have meant Dodds would take charge for the last few games but we would at the very least have been safe by the end of March and not nervously relying on results well into April. My cousin is a Leicester fan and couldn't believe SAFC fans were talking about relegation.
16th place is lower than we should be, however if you look at the last two seasons in reverse 16th would have been great in our first season back and 6th a real improvement. Viewed the way it happened finishing 10 places below last year can only be seen as a failure. Though I would suggest a greater failure on behalf of the governors than the team.
The sooner they can announce a name, the better. I am completely behind Chris Rigg's take on the situation. The issue will be how long is he prepared to wait it out before his itchy feet get the better of him?

So to answer the only question you have in there that wasn't covered in the video. No. KLD is aloof and distant at all stages. The comment on the fans meeting back in Jan says it all "the presence of Kryll to this meeting should show you his dedication" ... well not really, cause where's he been before and after? Narnia!? 😂

its not the sqaud the squad is fine its a good manager we need, with mobray we were a playoff team with the other managers we were a relagation team so theres no reason why this club cant be premier league your right its a lack of communication

All the evidence is the majority owner is both stubborn and vain. Toxic combination, especially as his interest is clearly waning. Shades of Ellis Short’s latter days without ES’s humanity, available funds and generosity. We are in deep trouble and I fear things may deteriorate far more before anything changes.
Sadly, I don't disagree with the sentiment. Rich people tend to stay rich by... making other pay.

Where've you been man!? I think the obvious is still apparent, Speakman will buy the players and want a front man to motive the players and speak to the media. I'm sat right back looking in, but Michael Bowers said it best a month or so ago, "The model in its fourth year of five now has to change, or tinkered with". Slightly concerned, because we all know that SAFC have no money to spend until players are sold. Recovery still ongoing and testing patience. We will get there........

My point or rebuttal is how is a billionaire not willing to take on some personal expense for his investment. All for sustainable funding, but also what's the point of him without any hands in the pocket?

To have someone like Speakman at the club is obviously a financial advisor first and foremost. The historical shit show that was SAFC's board over the last 20 years shows that they are shit scared to haemorrhage finances and stability is now paramount. Speakman's fuck up (or chance bet) was to replace Mowbray. He jumped on the 50% negativity bandwagon of SAFC fans who said he didn't have a plan B and rolled the dice.
It not being run in any way Dreyfuss is arrogant he doesn't believe the supporters are worth anything. I don't agree about Dodd's, he is a weak link no decent manager is going to come when they cant have a right hand man they can trust.
New gaffer will need the people they trust.
My point re Dodds is that he is a good bloke and has been a good worker for the club, just not at 1st team level. The players will have their heads half on him as the club still actively showing that he is their backup plan. So yeah, he needs to move on, at the under level or out of the club completely. Still like him, though.
@@AnthTheMackem Yes, I do agree with those points. I don't dislike Dodd's. Speakman however is holding back the club and I don't think any decent manager will want to work for him. if you question Speakman like Mowbray you get the sack. We are a joke in football circles for our shenanigans. I actually think we will get relegated this year or come near to it anyway. You have a good channel all the best.

@@AnthTheMackem Yeah, his formation is 433 which I think could work for us and I think we should sign Morgan Whittaker and Bali Mumba in the summer transfer because I can't see them achieving a lot with Plymouth. I know Jansen was rumoured with Norwich at one point as well, I think Dodds and Proctor should but if not they can be in charge of the U18s Sunderland team.
