3:16 (switch captions on) I agree with you, Ultimate Spiderman's gameplay is the most incredible part. It is just so fun to play (in my opinion). The story could be way better, a game based on Ultimate Spiderman's comic has so much potential... But in the end what I like the most of this game is its mechanics and gameplay, combat and swinging (movement in general) are just so fun. That's why it's one of my favourite games. Talking about Spider-Man 2 The Movie Game, it is great, but I find its movement (and others aspects of its gameplay) a bit frustrating sometimes.

@@pizzagamingps4428 worked on my windows 8 pc , when i upgraded to 10 it couldn't even get to the launcher

Spider-Man 2 started the web swing physics that are present in most spider-man games made after that one.

Now that im playing it again, i finallh reach 100%, i unlocked my dream costume (peter parker & black suit) and thats all because of you, i feel that im getting better at the game mechanics like swing skill, combat skill, and more. Amazing run. Just been watching some Spider-man 2 ps2 speedruns and now ended up totally engrossed in this one. This game is just awesome man, I loved it as a kid and still do today. I just feel like now I have to cross my fingers for a playable Venom in the next PS5 game.

One player managed to pass his, with some techniques, such as staying in specific places to appear city goals, and it seems that playing at 30 fps or speed swimming is easier to do, as well as some techniques to defeat enemies faster. @@shtrudel9498 in both phases slamming electro into the ground works well but i dont know if its faster than regular attacks
@@shtrudel9498 it works great in the first phase but I’m not confident it’s any useful against phase 2 electro. I usually chuck cars at him and by doing that it wrecks him.

Are you on windows 10? this game was working fine for me until the couple lasts windows updates I launch it, the icon appears then closes just like that.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm using Win 8.1. The issue you described applies to all version of Windows, starting with Vista. This is because SafeDisc is not longer supported since that one update to Windows. A solution for you would be to find a crack online or pirate the whole game.
In more detail: SafeDisc is one of many disc DRM technologies that check if the CD is inside your computer to play the game. However, there have always been security vulnerabilities with this thing, but Microsoft still allowed the gaming publishers to include this DRM. Over the Years, Windows updates always included security patches for disc DRM, but now that everything is digital, Microsoft no longer feels the need to support this, so many of your old CD games are worthless now.
There are some workarounds that don't involve cracks/pirate versions, but they expose you to security vulnerabilities. You better off just pirating the game.

Hmmm... maybe try to run it in compatibillity mode with older versions of Windows and if you havn't already, run the game as administrator.

I know this is a super-old video, buuuut I just picked this up and am having trouble getting the swing mechanics down, even with your captions. Any chance you could write out your beginner's tips or a video for us new fish?
I will do it one day. Until then, I recommend you practicing races, that's how I started.
And don't get furstrated if you don't get swing boosts, it took me a long time to learn it and I sometimes still struggle with that myself.
@@shtrudel9498 I'm on your second easy race down by the L-shaped building on the coast by the ballfield trying to get those first few turns smoothly. What is it about holding climb that makes the swing smoother i.e., why do it?

How to fix glitchy fmvs in Windows 10?
FMzvs work fine for me. From what I've seen online, people suggested to set the game in compatibility mode with older versions of Windows and to mess around with the resolution settings. Neither options seem to work consistently.
I actually prefer the gameplay in this over SM2 cuz gaining speed is easy and fun but also requires skill to maintain. even as a casual player, trying to get really fast times in the races is really fun and honestly the only thing i do in this game nowadays
Why don’t you play with the widescreen mod? Is it banned for runs?
1. I play on 1080p 16:9, the highest resolution the game allows. I don't know if wide screen means 16:9 or 21:9, but my screen is only 16:9 anyways.
2. Mods generally are avoided all around in speedrunning.
Shtrudel 1 Actually usm runs in 4x3 no matter what resolution you said it to 2 figures.
1920*1080 is 16:9 ratio. The game doesn't look stretched sideways at all.

How are you boosting the web swing so much more than usual? I call hacks
It's called swing boost. You hit boost (punch) right before you release the swing. The timing is very precise and you can see that I don't get it all the time.
You can further increase the boost by immediately chaining double jump as well.
@@shtrudel9498 I already knew the first part about what you said but thanks for clearing up the second part. I just tried it with the double jump and boost and it made it twice as fast like a double boost. You are not a hacker

What's your keybinds for this game? I keep having trouble with the maneuver on swinging, it keeps going right and it seems like I can't go faster, nor can I swing properly. I'm in pc too BTW.

You can download it online (that’s pretty much the only option nowadays) either by downloading the actual pc port (which I reccomend) or playing it on a ps2/GameCube emulator.
