I’m a 56 year old whites woman who listened to R&B and Funk in the 80s. Didn’t start listening to what is now “classic rock” until I got to college. We should be able to listen to whatever we like without judgment. My son was a death metal musician who liked 50s music, especially the Four Seasons. My husband and I went to see Slipknot and Barry Manilow in the same month. 😂
I’ve always said over the years that there are a lot of closet Barry fans. They don’t say it cause they fear people might laugh at them. I don’t care what people think, I’ve loved Barry from the first time I heard the song Mandy. I’m 55. Lol

Love this video. How can you look so handsome with Jester makeup on and then the real Barry comes into the theatre and he looks just as handsome as you do. Love this one............................Betsy B
I've been a fan of Barry's since I was 11, obviously I didnt know about love or romance at such a young age but I loved his voice, him as a performer and his songs resonated with me even at that age. A treasured memory is my lovely mom buying me his LP for a Christmas present, I was so chuffed I just kept looking at the cover, I still have the LP and I'm 56 now. Love you Barry ❤ x
It was a shame that Barry Manilow was ridiculed by various TV comedians for how he looked rather than his performances during his hey day in the late 70's and early 80's because his music was truly out of this world especially the lyrics in his songs. I had liked his music then and still do to this day.

Read 'em and Weep is probably the most unique video that Barry has done. I still do not understand the story behind it, but Barry playing the part of a Jester or Joker is really great. He also mentions guns and bullets which is very unusual to sing about that. I do love the video especially with Barry(The Jester) and Barry (The real Barry) in the back of the theatre. Love both of you Barries....Betsy B

Love it and you , Barry. You look so super with the makeup and then we see the real you at the back of the theater. Still can't get it. You are perfect in this video..................Love................Betsy
I grew up, in the cassette age, but my folks managed to catch him live at concert in rapid. What was amazing was the show started out with this flat black piano...but once he started playing the lights could make that piano into any color...and the music was something else too.
At 3:07 when he takes off his dressing gown, me and my mum screamed so loud that my dad came running downstairs. He thought we were being murdered or something but it was just Barry. It was just Barry and his chest.
This magnificent bastard loves Beagles and has the guts to declare it in front of the world on his second album! Man, he's got my vote forever. Beagles!!!
My girlfriend sat in the front row with her friends She didn't recognize me at first until I started to sing this song Just to her when I was done she ran up to the piano with tears in her eyes .. I said Would you. She said. Yes I put a ring on her finger ... the rest is history thanks Barry

One of my favorite Barry Manilow songs! So much heart! Love this man!
Am I the only one who loves the extreme smoothness and stillness after the bombastic conclusion which starts @5:00 and that slight stutter/pause as he stops at "Come on and look at me and read 'em" and starts it again with that bluesy guitar layered in?
This one is a winner too, Barry . I love to watch this one especially when you are dressed as a Joker or Jester. It is very unique for you as you rarely mention guns and bullets, but I love the video. Love you always...............................................Betsy Basile
Brilliant, epic mini-opera and bombastic. Soaring like a short aria and carrying you thru unexpected emotions. Seriously underrated song!!
One of the best Barry manilow tunes the drum's are awesome. One of the most underrated songs by manilow you never hear played that's a damn shame. Takes me back to high school. A time machine tune. I know it was probably wrote for meatloaf but manlows version is the best

Love you Barry Manilow and RIP Jim Steinman. P.S To this day my friend thanks me for taking him to see you at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas back in 2013. He tells me it's his favorite concert of all time. He especially liked the part where you dueted with yourself on the Midnight Special Could this be Magic. I thought that was phenomenal too!!!
Friday before Easter 2024 - an amazing song that takes on an added depth to this video ⚜️💕🐉 thank you Barry

that moment when you're thirty and always hated barry manilow until one saturday night when your so is out of town and you buy a bottle of wild turkey from cvs and instead of listening to something cool you say 'whatever lets get weird and make spaghetti' and suddenly this song is playing really loud as you're bored by the kitchen cabinets and you're like 'oh fuck. this is ..good.'
Sincerely Productions
Being a "Fan-ilow" has never been cool. But Barry turned out so good stuff.
Sincerely Productions Exactly.
Sincerely Productions my thoughts exactly

Powerful, disturbing & utterly brilliant! Barry Manilow as Pierrot the broken hearted clown. Wonderful.

Watching this video again. I still have not figured out the gist of it and what the woman is doing at the end of the video. Love the words and the notes on this one. "Everything is blank?" Love it and you , Barry. You look so super with the makeup and then we see the real you at the back of the theater. Still can't get it. You are perfect in this video..................Love................Betsy
Love this one too. It is very unique and unusual for one of your videos, Barry. Thanks for sharing this one Mr. Giraldi.............Betsy
He is just a great entertainer! Hands down!
Forty years ago Barry Manilow told the music world to Read 'em And Weep!
They did to honor his greatness!
This magnificent bastard loves Beagles and has the guts to declare it in front of the world on his second album! Man, he's got my vote forever. Beagles!!!
With salmon and cream cheese. Yum!
RIP Jim Steinman, a LEGEND!
Love this one so much Barry. You are so spectacular even as The Jester. Love you, Barry....................Betsy Basile
My girlfriend sat in the front row with her friends She didn't recognize me at first until I started to sing this song Just to her when I was done she ran up to the piano with tears in her eyes .. I said Would you. She said. Yes I put a ring on her finger ... the rest is history thanks Barry
