just because Coverdale started Whitesnake doesn't mean Deep Purple "split." Coverdale came in for a very impressive visit to Deep Purple. This is one of my favorite Deep Purple tunes off of one of my favorite Deep Purple albums, but Deep Purple is and always has been bigger than Coverdale
Hmm does this mean that Deep Purple has to be bigger than Ian Gillan.. Idk I feel I mean you can have one without the other true but hmm this is paradoxing I don't want to not give credit to everyone who worked very hard on this album and portray it live :))
How good are the harmonies and duet of Coverdale and Hughes in their first year with Deep Purple. Go buy / stream the Burn album if you haven’t heard it, what a debut album by this line up.
Must’ve come up with that riff after the initial recording of burn because I’m pretty sure that’s what he started you fool no one with at every live performance. Great fucking riff too may I add
Coverdale sings flat on this. Ritchie later used the intro for the live version of Still I'm Sad on Rainbow Onstage and others. Cool jam of Lazy by Jon and Ian. Lords dexterity is awesome. The Hammond sounds like a demonic Wurlitzer. One of Ritchie's best versions of this.
Interesting Jon Lord starts palying Lazy from the far superior Mark II version of Deep Purple... The addition of the "whooargh" merchants of Hughes and Coverdale .. no wonder Ritchie left
Who can beat this?- No one.
da taeusch dich man nicht.
You fool no one 😉👍
Richie’s timing with Ian is fantastic! Plus, their tone is unbelievable!
6:25..the timing of the video cutting off at Ritchie's solo was unbelievable!
@@bradford_shaun_murray LOL sucked!
@@vincegedeon6583 lol i know, it's like 'seriously'? 🤦♂
IAN PAICE - unbelieveble! Period.
Ian Paice the master of time, hammer of God.
Unparallelled! 🤜🤜🤜
Lord, literally squeezing the life out of that Hammond!
The first 3:20 of this video must be my favourite performance of Jon, RIP, you will be missed...
That is the best lineup of all time …too much talent on that stage ..epic

Simply the best live heavy rock band ever, all masters of their respective crafts.
This concert kills me because I always loved the Gillian version if DP however Coverdale and Hughes absolutely mash it here with the vocal harmonies.
Gillan not Gillian.
Keep in mind they only managed one good album out of three, unlike the four Mk 2 ones previously of which at least 3 were great.
@@alwilson3204 Come Taste.. is also great - two at least
Amazing band and so much cowbell on this song. Ian Paice is A drumming GOD!
arguably the best lineup Purple are on fire !
I m always with the great fans of deep purple the best concert ever on my lovely state kalifornien san francico is my great heart of usa

jon lord mantap
A band on top form and a good recording.
Legendary band
Richie Blackmore is one of those 4 or 5 out of England that started it. Luckily he still with us.
Timeless!!! ❤
Yes!
Amen
Imagine a duel between Mister Jon Lord and Mister Keith Emerson....Both at their prime that night!!!
Ian pacie looks like he’s in his garden
Alright!!
EPIC
Totales❤🎉
Anyone else hear "Still I'm Sad" when Ritchie Blackmore comes in after Paice starts "You Fool No One"? Lol
Yaaa!!!!
Yes, every time, and vice versa.
Must’ve come up with that riff after the initial recording of burn because I’m pretty sure that’s what he started you fool no one with at every live performance. Great fucking riff too may I add

Damn funky

Very sad, Jon passed away..

I think Coverdale is flat on purpose to harmonise with the bass player who's singing above him.
Continuation?
