So power-hungry executives refuses any limits on their powers. Sounds pretty normal. In this case, the executive has the unchecked power to prosecute, instead of reporting a crime to another body to take action, something few companies have. Not surprising at all. Imagine having no training on law and yet having the ability to decide on prosecution. Wonderful. Who would want to give up that power?

Well, that lets POL bring criminal prosecutions, as it's not a 'privately owned company'! FWIW, ANYONE (or any Company) can initiate a private prosecution, even for criminal activity! That right could well be reviewed as a consequence of this scandal, though whether any change would make the process fairer is debatable! To me, the entire culture of POL is obscenely faulty and Fujitsu's attitude was also oscene, though likely constrained by contracts!

In this instance, the only reason we are hearing any apologise is not because they have were wrong, they are only uttering these words because they have been caught. The twisted irony is that the innocent have been prosecuted, sentenced and financially ruined and yet the actual guilty parties will walk away untouched.

There's more than sufficient doubt to annul all convictions against sub postmasters.
It is in the public interest to bring prosecutions against all those involved. Justice needs to be done not delayed another 10 years.

I'm ashamed of this and all that's going on. It's not only a shambles, but a black mark on the worldly recognised British justice system.
I'm hoping that the people responsible will do jail time and lose their own bank accounts and assets that they gained during their time of power.

Was I? I don't recall that. Where am I, by the way, and who are you? Please remind me what my name is, again?

Has anyone established if the number of transaction anomalies went up AFTER Horizon was first installed, and then after 2000 when Horizon went online, and if so by how many. Plus, was Michael Rudkins’s account accessed after he first requested a visit to Fujitsu, and before the auditor’s turned up on his door to announce the 44,000 pound shortfall, and if so by whom? There will be an electronic footprint.
