She's got three more bundles of budgie joy to go! It amazed me how loud they were when my bird had her babies. Like... how can they be so loud??....they are just tiny!
They are excellent parents, unlike some humans.
My parakeet had so many babies and she threw them at the bottom of the cage. Her babies died. They are like humans. Some are good parents and some are not.

So cute! My budgie had two babies. Unfortunately one of them, the oldest one, fell from their nest and the other birds killed him. My other baby is still thriving at 16 days old!

Budgies always feed their smallest baby first, unlike many other bird species who only tend to feed to oldest bird and leave the youngest one(s) to fend for themselves (and usually die from starvation). Budgies on the other hand care for all their youngsters. Some babies hatch 10 days later after the first born - the mother lays an egg every two days, up to 6 or sometimes even more, which results and a huge age and size gap between the babies. But for some reason she will always feed the youngest one first and only then feeds the rest of them.

This video helped me so much! Thank you thank you! My hen wouldn't feed her newly hatched chick no matter what, she only fed the older chick for over 24 hours. Then I played this video for her over and over, and now she's feeding the chick no problem. The tiny chick might have given up and shut up but this video wouldn't. :P You literally saved my chick!

Years ago, I had a female parakeet named Nancy, that laid an egg, and it hatched, and we named the baby Misty. A month later, Nancy died, and the dad, Bob, a male parakeet, was still alive. Then when I moved to New York, Misty was all grown up, but it escaped and flew away from my porch. I got really sad that I miss them so much. Please like in memory of my long lost birds.
So sad that mom died. Why? disease?
My 2 parakeets escaped too then I got 2 more then another 2 then I had a flock but
one died so now 3 I had to leave but I couldn’t take them so I gave em to my cousin but
he gave em to his friend then I got another one and I still have him

I have one of them it is a Blue Recessive Pied Male. I gave away the others to my cousins

Shoebill bird hens often lay a pair of eggs. There are accounts wherein the two off springs fight for dominance. The weaker sibling gets tossed out by the more dominant one. The mother then returns from fishing to then find out what has happened. Guess what? She acknowledges the other chick and leaves the other to fend for itself.
The list goes on and on. And not all animals do it. Just like human mothers. Making an analogy based on this video about human moms abusing their children whereas animals take great care of them is fucking cancer.

my female budgie is not completely tame yet...although she eats from our hands,so how can i clean the nesting area without upsetting the mother? will she abandon the chicks if i touch them?

Тот что пока что живой, ему всего пол дня, сегодня утром вылупился. А тот что умер, ему был всего день.

oreoemsa Unfortunately the parents have passed and the chicks grew up and got new homes. I am unsure whether they are alive or not but I’m hoping they are.

the gray stuff i see you called it nesting linerr do they make that out of their cuddle bone it smells i cleaned it out once but think the same day i cleaned it out ended up being a lot more in there i thought it was odd looking droppings and is it ok for them to eat that
The nesting material that I have on the nest box is added to absorb the
droppings. Its carefresh organic bedding. Like this one
