You are an inspiration!! Your video made my whole week. I have been in love with the Can Am Spyder for over a year now. Two years ago, I took the motorcycle riding class, got my certificate, took the written test and got a motorcycle endorsement on my license and got my gloves, helmet, Kevlar pants ...the whole sha bang. I started saving up money originally to get a Honda and I truly worried about the clutch because I stalled my bike out so much in the class so I decided to go with a dual clutch transmission. Somewhere in the middle of all that my health took a turn, I took a bad fall off of a hover board and found out that I am very susceptible to blood clots. Dropping a bike for me well...could really set me down a bad path. To make a long story short since then I have dealt with so many health issues and a scare with cancer which turned out not to be thank goodness but two years later, I don't have a trike or a bike.I pushed my dream of owning a bike aside with worries about my health. It was depressing. But one day on my way home from work I was at a red light next to these two gentlemen who were on Spyders. I stuck my head out the car window and just about drooled watching them take off from the light. It was truly love at first sight(the trike not the guys!ha)and that began my switch to wanting something safer for me to ride and it made me research the spyder and go back to saving money. And here I am, stumbling across your great videos and feeling inspired to go buy the damn can am already! It's over a year and I'm not getting any healthier or younger. So I want to thank you for your awesome videos and as a newbie to the world of riding, I have a request. Can you possibly do a video from beginning to end where you start up the Spyder and as you take us down the interstate, explain the paddle shifters. Again I am not very familiar with shifting and although I've been told it's easy I would like someone to walk me through it so I can hear and see when you shift. Also starting, stopping, backing up. All the basics. When I get mine I want to really be prepared to finally hit the open road...fearlessly! lol. Thank you again for everything. -Bridgette

Yes Bridgette! I have always had a love for 2 wheel motorcycles, but honestly afraid to drive one due to balance and falling...now I have ridden on plenty and trusted the driver :). When I first saw a Spyder I too looked, longed and drooled!! I too am saving for a decent down payment, taking a class in October and purchasing shortly thereafter.
BTW...thanks for the videos...keep them coming. You Spyder bloggers helpes me pull the trigger on a 2019 F3 Limited....loving it...just need to get used to proper rpms these things shift at...loving each and every ride

I'm 66 traded my VTX1800 T in on a Can Am Spyder 2017 F3 Limited Chrome.
My legs have become weakened since I was put on SS disabilty. All my joints are metal, so I decided it was time to let my cruiser go. I love my Spyder, best move I made in years. It's the Intense Red. I love riding it. Nice thing is has no stress on my legs. Ride safe friend.
Hi. I have just discovered your channel. I was diagnosed with MS in 2006 and haven’t been out on a bike since. Spyders have pretty much been out of my price range and then I found out about the 2019 Can Am Ryker. Woo Hoo at last I’m finally going to get back out on the road again. Subscribed. Ride safe. I'm glad you got a bike, be safe. I choose the F3 Limited because of the seat height over the RT, I love riding it. Took the Washington 3 wheel motorcycle safety course. Its required for 3 wheel endorsement on my License. in Washington State.
watching shawn's videos is what got me into spyders as well.
Funny you should mention Shawn Smoaks videos. I started watching them back in November and he convinced me to try a Spyder. In two days I'm taking a 2018 RT out on a test drive. If everything goes well, I'm getting it. I really wish I could take a safety course but the only one in this area is through a local vocational school and they don't do 3 wheelers. Guess I'm going to end up teaching myself. (Oh great) I'm 70 years old and really need something to get my ass out of the recliner and get out and meet people and get some air and I think the Spyder might be the answer.
I, too, am 70yo and I own a 2012 Spyder RT-S SE5 that was purchased from a friend in Florida and ridden, 2-up, home to central NJ, 1,330 miles in August 2016. I loved every moment and we visited many family and friends and cool sights to see. Now have just over 41k miles on the odometer and I am extremely happy with the machine. It has amazing power (998cc) and I do not miss the leans. Last year we rode to Kingston, Ontario, and even the rain did not reduce our enjoyment. This year Thousand Islands Ontario again, Lake George NY, Ohio, Virginia, Atlanta, and DC.

I have been thinking about it. I have a couple of trips planned for this year to get back into riding shape. I had a bad MS relapse in Aug '17 so I am just now getting back out there. Scheduling and health in mind... I might make it there! Good time?
Would like to say, I admire your attitude, about riding, with MS. Almost 7 years ago I had a motorcycle wipeout on the Interstate when I hit ice on the medium line. Went down at 27 miles an hour, 33 degrees out. Since then, can’t walk on my own, but wife and I bought a Spyder 2 months ago. Enjoy being on Cycle again, after 40 years of riding motorcycles. Enjoy the rides, enjoy watching the videos.

Thanks for the ride...I like the fact the whole front end on these spyders are a C6 corvette front suspension, with paddle shifting and Brembo brakes like a Ferrari. I also like that you passed a 1964 C2 Corvette roadster on the right.

Good to see you out riding. Your reasoning for going to a trike and staying in the wind is different than mine, as you have probably deduced, but Spyders are a great choice IMHO. Aren't there any twisty roads out on the Island? That's what I like when I'm out for a ride. I'm fortunate in that respect because they are all around me. I enjoy your narration! Keep up the good work and "duces". BTW, I agree with you about the good info from the Smoaks vlog. Good stuff.

Thanks for the video. Took the 3 wheel course at Big Apple that BRP has been sponsoring this summer. Just have to take the paper work down to DMV and get the endorsement on my license.

Great vid Gimpy. I agree with you about Shawn. Been following him since he started. Introduced me to Spyders as well and fell in love with them. One day I will own one but they are VERY expensive Down Under here in Aussieland.

That was the Ocean Parkway down by the beaches, Jones beach to Robert Moses beach on the South Shore of Long Island, NY. I love it to just set the cruise, kick back, and forget everything for a while! How long is your trip? You ride safe, young man! 👍🏻😎👍🏻

Yes you were right a lot of people would tell me O don't get a Can-Am spider But I am going to get my Canon spider next year it would be the f3S I want to know what do you use on your helmet to keep the rain off
I went to a local Harley dealer and asked the sales person if they had a Tri-glide I could look at,. He said they were so expensive they dont bring in display models. They only pre-order if a customer wants one.
Jeff James Yeah, the tri-glide and freewheeler weren’t for me at all. To me, the balance is all off and it feels like you could easily tip them in a turn.
As you said, YOU as the rider have to choose and Ride the Bike YOU Feel Comfortable Riding.

When I am behaving, around 40ish mpg. When I am not behaving, about 32-33 mpg. So, usually 32-33 mpg. lol

Hello, had a 2016 F-3 Limited black on black on black with the black chrome wheels . great bike but it burnt up in my sons drive way . and Can Am would do nothing . will not buy another one .

Yes sir! Ocean Pkwy can get straight and boring to some but I love it! The scenery, the calmness... you can just cruise and forget everything. Plus, it beats rush hour traffic on the Southern State when you need to get out east! Thanks for watching! 👍🏻😎👍🏻
