Wow, the increase in miles each year is impressive. Last year you killed it. Look at all those stickers on the door. Bless you guys. Let's go. You don't have to ride a lot of miles to have fun. What a great thing to say. Miles are good though
It's true, Ray!! Miles are miles and miles are smiles!! I would never have been able to travel that far without being retired! Hope you have a wonderful year and get lots of ride in! 🤗💜
What a fab personality on camera you have! Your mileage is to be commended too. Great itinerary of repairs etc. Thank you again, Jodey, for my wonderful sticker haul and card you sent all the way to us in the UK. As soon as I have some stickers, they'll be coming to you for sure. Ride safe, Lady J Rider
Awhh, Jane, you are so very kind! I am so happy we can share stories and stickers! Last year was my first year of retirement so of course I just wanted to go, go, go! 😁
Travis, I know she will love having her own!! And, just think how much easier it will be for you...you can put stuff on your rear seat for trips and maybe she will even let you put a few things in her side bags...you know, as long as you don't overstuff them and break the hinges! 😉😉💜💜You be safe too!! Spring is coming!!
Thank you! I remember being excited about 10K also! You will get back out there...you are way busier in your life right now...I could never have ridden so much last year if I hadn't retired! Take care and be safe! 🤗💜
@@PurpleOnThree This cold weather is killing me! 🤬 Yes busy is the problem. Busy working and getting ready to sell our current home. I will still have to work a few more years but something less stressful would be nice. All the best!
Very informative video. As seen... you rode it a lot in my opinion. Covering 12k miles in a year is not a joke. :) The rear tyre is a problem, I get it. It eats money! You got my like Jody.
Thank you, Gregor! Hopefully I can get my hands on a different Spyder tire...Kenda K9...for those who have them, they are pleased but not easy to find. Some others use car tires...I am not completely sold on that idea...Have a great week! 🤗🤗💜💜
Good to hear that the Spyder has been reliable. So far mine has been good too. Very happy with my f3. Thanks for the info Jody and I’ll see you on the road.
@@PurpleOnThree I added the rear luggage bag, highway pegs, modified the brake lever, modified the handlebar grips, third rear brake light and added some ram mounts. Still want to add some led drive lights/fog lights.
Thank you so very much!! It really is a great ride...and those engines are designed for 100K! So, I'm hoping to rack up another 50K...take care and stay safe!
First of all, God bless you for referring to me as "young lady"!! lol..Thanks for watching! Hoping to share what little I know with others! Do you have a Spyder? You have a cool YT channel name AND a cool channel...I was just watching Surf's Up....🤗🤗💜💜
Yayyyy!!! Thank you, Leanne! Any sign of ours yet? I sent a sticker pack a few weeks ago to someone else in Australia and they now have them....let me know when you think I should try again...I'm not having much faith they will ever make it...
Hats off to you both for actually going out and riding. In my years of riding, I've been across the country and around the glen:-) but generally, will do one or two rides a year. As I've put on the years, that has slowed also so I'm very impressed with you guys getting out there and doing it. Might even stimulate me to take a couple of longer rides this year. Keep on doing it and I'll keep watching!
Thank you so much!! Maybe we can meet up in our travels this year! Are you in Virginia? We will be heading south in April...I can't wait to see some sunshine!! I bet you have had some amazing adventures yourself in your years of riding! Around the glen, lol...I was able to ride so many miles last year as I retired the end of 2021. I am very grateful!! Hope it is warm enough where you are to get in some rides!💜🤗
@@PurpleOnThree that would be cool...We live in a little town named Altavista...west of Lynchburg and east of Roanoke. Not too far from getting on the Parkway. Wife and I were both raised here but moved away when I joined the navy...worked with a lot of Defense contractors and retired in Colorado in 2014. Moved back here to take care of my Pop....he is now 96!! Stay warm up there...spring is coming!
First of all, thank you for your service! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 We appreciate you. 🙏 God bless your Pop! I'm sure he's glad to have you close to him. ❤️ I'll keep in touch if you send me an email...in my about section on here... And we can let you know our riding plans. 🤗
Awesome review for others wanting to purchase one. Just like a car. Gotta keep it maintenanced. Glad you’re able to keep ice and have something to drink. Not bad for mileage
Thank you, Jessica! I would much rather maintain the Spyder than the car...the Spyder is way more fun to drive, lol! And it gets better mileage...34 mpg as opposed to 25 mpg in our KIA...so therefore, I need more Spyder miles! Hope you have a great week! 🤗🤗💜💜
Thank you so much, Bob!! It was definitely a blessing to be able to ride that much last year...and of course a blessing to meet up with you again! Stay safe!! Happy New Year! 🤗💜
Hi Jody & Tommy G, Happy New Year guys, great review of your 2018 Spyder F3. You have put on some impressive miles and I know a lot of smiles. Hope 2023 is as good for you. Ryde safe & God Bless Artie & Tracy
Hello, Artie and Tracy! You are so right on the smiles miles!! I'm smiling right now thinking about them again! I got out Wednesday for a 16 mile ride ...felt so good! Happy New Year and be safe!! 💜💜🤗🤗
Great video. We started out cheaper then went to Smoak's place and that was costly with a new back tire. You have given us food for thought. Thanks. All over again....hell yeah.
@@Partzman23 I hear ya, Artie! 🤗🤗 I know they last longer for sure. I'm interested to hear about what you fell is better with the ryde...please and thank you! 💜💜🤗🤗
Just found your video. You are an absolute hoot! Enjoyed your video, so I hit the subscribe video. I'll probably never ride as far as you have, but I am looking at a Spyder! Thanks for your view on this machine by BRP! I'll be checking out your other videos!
Hello and WELCOME to the channel! Appreciate you watching and commenting and SUBSCRIBING! Thank you!! Looking at a SPYDER??? THAT IS WONDERFUL!! So much fun! Have you taken one for a test ride yet? Oh the newer ones are so smooth!! Have a blessed day! 🤗💜🙏🏻
I am 67 years old, and this year, I am going to buy a Limited RT. For years, I have wanted to buy a Can Am, so now I am going to do it. I really enjoyed your channel.
Charley, congratulations! This is wonderful to hear!! I really think you are going to love the Can-Am!! And I sure do appreciate your kind words about the channel. Thank you so much! What state are you located in if you don't mind me asking?💜🤗
@PurpleOnThree I live in Washington state from April to September and snowbird in Yuma for the winter. I will either trailer the bike down here, or my wife will drive her car, and I will ride down. I don't know if I will get to the east coast, but if I do, I will let you know.
@charleyhough4355 oh that's awesome! We've been in Washington 3 times though not for too long. We were in Blaine Washington last year and then we crossed back into the US again from Canada last year just south of Midway British Columbia. In 2022 we were in Kennewick and Walla Walla.
All in all, it’s not really an expensive bike to operate, which is a good thing. Accessories that add comfort and safety are always worth the money. Keep racking up those miles my friend.
One other thing I didn't include in the video...the 1330 does not burn oil...I have never had to add any oil between oil changes! I'll do my best to follow your advice!! In the meantime, ride for me!!💜🏍🤗
Thank you, Song! I never thought the stock seat was bad but when I bought my spyder used I had the option of buying the cannonball seat used also. My first year I rode with the stock seat and thought it was pretty comfy. I really like the looks of The cannonball seat though! 🤗💜
Awesome enthusiasm great opening!!!! DIY are the best right to kee our cost down!!! I know you are handy as with TommyG My hubby is a wrencher so never spend any $$$ Accessories and mods are nice!!
Thank you, Gloria!! I thought that song was pretty catch in my intro! That's great you guys can do all your own work!! I'm learning! I think I have the oil change down pat now!!
Thank you so much, Moose! I couldn't do the garage videos without my camera guy!! I think I have my oil change video out in 2 weeks....we discuss that very issue, lol! 😂😂😉😉💜💜🤗🤗
That’s some serious mileage your getting out of your spyder, your certainly well on the way to doubling that very soon, great info for any potential spyder owner to consider… happy riding 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, Lee! We have some long trips planned this year...looking forward to the day when the snow is gone for good (well for the winter lol). I hope I could help someone out with this video in making a decision to buy a Spyder. Have a blessed day! 💜🤗
Thank you! I think I even forgot a few, but it's hard to remember everything! Pretty soon it will be time to hand her over to Tommy so I can get a newer model!😁
Thank you for sharing that!! I love it! Another couple like us! 💜🤗 Appreciate your following us! Hope our wheels cross paths sometime! Where do you live?
Come over to the other side, Dale! 😉 💜 by not sitting still, we were able to meet you last year! So that's a wonderful thing!! You be safe and hope you are able to ride soon!
I did not realize you had so many miles on the spider. You were on the road all of last year so I guess it makes senses. The cost of ownership is great. You should do a VS against Tommys bike over the last three years. Great video! Stay warm
Last year was my first year of retirement and there was no need to stay home, lol!! That's a great idea of cost of ownership for Spyder vs Harley...I am guessing a bit more on the Spyder BUT Tommy is getting new shocks this spring so that will probably even things up a bit! Hope you are able to ride some!
Thank you! The stock seat is quite comfy but I just like the looks of this better. I bought it used the same time I purchased my Spyder and got a good deal on it..at the time, they were $700 new...
Thank you, Dustin! Really appreciate that! Do you ride two wheels now or will this be your first ride? My best advice (that you didn't ask for lol, but it's free so there you go...😂) is to take them both for a test ride and see what you think! The Spyder is AMAZING in the twisties...I'm not partial or anything, lol. So my hubby, TommyG, has said over and over that he will get a Spyder and not a Harley Trike when he is ready for 3 wheels (he has a Harley Ultra Limited now). 💜🤗
@PurpleOnThree We currently ride 2 up on a HD Fatbob, I was a crotch rocket guy, but after we wed, she wanted something more comfy than my Kawi. But, appreciate the insight from your hubby. We rode a Tri Glide and a freewheeler, have not test ridden a can am as of yet. Be Safe, Cheers!
@@dustinb6249 When TommyG and I got married I rode two up with him on his Yamaha Fazer...then before we had been married a year, I took the MSF course because that thing was not comfy and I wanted my own two wheels, lol. A Fatbob sounds like a lot of fun! Glad that you have already ridden a TriGlide and a freewheeler...within the next month, I have a video coming out on what it's like to ride a Spyder...first impressions...when we traveled last year, I let some of my favorite motovlogging friends take my Spyder for a spin and I captured their reactions when they got back from their test rides...you may or may not be surprised. Best wishes and stay safe out there!
Thank you so much! I bought it to ride, lol! Well, I will say when I blew out my sidewall, I had to drive 2.5 hours to get a new set, but that was 2021 when there were supply issues. I have not had any problems getting the Kenda rear tire but I have had a better tire called the Kenda K9 on order for over a year online somewhere and they keep promising me I will receive it soon...supposedly March...we shall see...it is supposed to last longer than the original K9. Some folks only get 8K out of the rear tire. I have gotten 15K out of mine and I don't think that's terrible, but on the other hand, I have 30K on my front ones now and they are just now needing changed. But the Spyders are also rear wheel drive. So what is the average life for you of your tires on your bike?
@@PurpleOnThree Ha! if i'm running a knobby tire like the Anakee wild about 2500 miles for a rear. The Heidenau K60's I got about 4 to 5k out of. I would say your milage is fine! 😀
That is a very comprehensive review of the cost of ownership. Outstanding. I found the cost of tyres (aussie spelling) interesting. I just last week had a Kenda Kanine fitted at $249 AUD for the tyre. The Australian roads are also harsh on the OEM Kenda, but people are reporting better mileage out of the Kanine (yes we call it mileage, even though we measure in kilometres). I would love a Lamonster drink holder, but the dollar conversion and postage just kills the cost. The Elka shocks are great. I had these on my RT and they will be the next upgrade on the F3S. I put an Aussie made sway bar on from Rabbit Works. Wow, what a difference. 25,000 miles is impressive. I do about 15,000km per year, which is big for most of our group. Got the stickers today. Thanks.
WE have had Kenda Kanine tires ordered for 12 months now....Can't get them here in the USA...Dealers can't get them...tire distributors can't get them...
Thank you so much, Steve! Glad the stickers made it...I can send more if you think you need more! I'm very curious to hear how you like that Kenda Kanine!! I want that for my next rear tire...fingers crossed! I'm glad to hear you were impressed with the Elka shocks! Is there a way I can get that drink holder to you for cheaper?? I have a Shippo account and that makes my cost to ship a lot less. Yes, I didn't mention my sway bar in the video...I forgot, lol, but what a world of difference that made in the corners...Your mileage is nothing to sneeze at!! Your big trip is getting closer!! Woo hoo!💜🤗
Purple on 3, I am amazed at how many miles you have been able to ride. You are an inspiration to all of us. I recently bought a new leftover 2023 Can-Am Spyder RT limited. It is quite different from riding a motorcycle. I appreciate you doing this video to educate me on some of the maintenance issues that will be coming up. I have one question for you. Do you ride on the interstates, or do you do most of your riding on back roads?
@@JimPierce-z1n Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind words! Yes, I ride on the interstate and yes I ride on back roads... That probably doesn't answer your question lol but we do it all. And of course, I am retired so I have more time to devote to riding. Congratulations on your new RT! Yes, it is different than two wheels but I am sure you will get used to it pretty quickly. As for me, I had 20 years between two wheels and three wheels as I gave up riding when we had our family. I hope you don't have too many maintenance issues. I did my 75,000 mile review and to be honest, I think the key is using the spyder... It works better when it's used more! There! I've given you another reason to put on some more miles lol. Have a blessed day and be safe! 💜🙏🤗
It's amazing that you have put that many miles in such a short period of time. You must live in the south because here in the north we only get about 4 months of riding per year. Keep on Spydering
Thank you!! I live in Pennsylvania so not really in the south. We can count on 6 months of riding for sure and possibly a few extra months depending upon the snowfall. I have a heated jacket now which has extended my riding season. Also, I retired the end of 2021 so I had all kinds of time to get out there and ride last year! Where do you live? And what is your ride? 😊👍💜
Yes when we sit on our bikes we are to close our eyes keep our hands at our sides and then raise them! Where they stop that’s where our bars should be!! Really helps for comfy sitting
Doyle! You are the first person who has told me this...can you tell me more about what tire Beth used and the mileage she got out of it? I have 30,000 on my front tires and they are just now ready to change.
@@PurpleOnThree on front we 25k on on stock tires . About 10 on rear stock we put car tire on rear got about 12k . She got around 9500 on rear tire . We had it change when it was in shop for the wreck repairs .
Lot's of good upgrades Jody.... Gotta be comfortable while riding...and you and Tom have been getting some in for sure... Tell Tom to stop being so rough on your Spyder lol🤣🤣 Happy New Year to you both💯💜💜
Thank you, Dan and Happy New Year! I'll be sure and tell him you said to quit breaking my stuff! 😂 It was such a fun year last year and part of that was meeting up with everyone, including you and Brenda!! 💜🤗
Great to see you two riding. Making great memories. Meeting peeps from every state. You two certainly put me to shame. But I’ve had health issues. And I’m not as cool as you two. Ride safe and keep making awesome memories as you trek across the country side. I’m kinda jealous. I guess that’s why my operating costs seem to be lower then yours. 😅
Awhhh... So very sorry you are dealing with health problems 🙏😔...we thank you for riding along with us. We love to meet folks and swap stories with them. There truly are many wonderful folks in this world of ours. God bless you 🙏
@@PurpleOnThree well I fell off a ladder. About 6-8 feet. And before that my knee was messing up. I’m a lot better now. I was hot fatigued and stepped backwards off the ladder. Guess also cause age is creeping up. Unlike you young wild hippies. Roaming the country side. Making amazing memories. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
A good breakdown of the costs. Several warranty claims which I am pleased to hear Can Am accepted. Rear tyres seem to be a problem but as you say you're putting in a lot of miles. I hope all the mods have made for a safer more comfortable ride. If so, they are worth the cost. According to the dealer I bought my Spyder from (in Australia) service is required once/year or every 15000 kms, how does that correspond with service intervals in the USA? Enjoy riding in 2023.
Much the same but we feel even with the Synthetic Oil, type of driving and road conditions, we change oil every 7,000 miles to attempt to catch any issues that may occur with the engine and tranny..Hey the more she takes care of this one the better it will handle for me..PLUS I already have the mods I want on it...BUT don't tell her....
Boy if I had to put them in any kind of order I would say for comfort definitely the short reach handlebars. For handling, I would say that elka shocks and the Baja run sway bar.... And of course the LED lights for safety. I try to change the oil every 6500 to 7000 miles. I have never had to add any oil to the 1330 engine..m it simply does not burn it.🤗💜
A good video to reference. The only thing I didn't see was the full 28k mile service. The plugs and filter, evap canisters need to be done to keep everything working properly. Swap over to car tires and you will see a lot better life and lower cost to replace. I have 26k miles on mu spyder and haven't seen a need to replace the rear wheel seals. Overall good documentation and not scary maintenance machine at all..
Thank you! I believe my can am service dealer said my plugs were still good, I replaced the HCM filter myself...not easy to come by for sure!! I will be taking my Spyder in for the 50K service here in the spring. I am not going to tackle the spark plugs...I'm sure it would take me a WHOLE lot longer than the service department at Hanover, PA...what an excellent service department! I drive 4.5 hours when I need service because they absolutely know what they are doing! Of course, I will also be getting my sprocket replaced this spring as well. That's a good amount of riding you have done on your Spyder! Do you do all your own maintenance? I am glad that I learned how to change my own oil...saves a bit!
@@PurpleOnThreeyou've done your fair share of ryding also.yes, I do all of my own maintenance. Given how these bikes rev I like to keep fresh plugs in them. I just had my sprocket replaced so hopefully many years of carefree ryding ahead.
Oh I sure hope so! That's wonderful you do your own maintenance... Prior to the spyder, I had never changed oil in any vehicle... I was excited to learn how to do it! 🤗💜
@@PurpleOnThree congrats..you are getting the full experience and a sense of pride. I trust my mechanic is going to do his best and not cut corners.keep the shiney side up and enjoy the journey. Lots of great spyder riders out there.
Oh Heather! Thank you so much! 🤗💜🙏 How is that new bike? Are you able to ride it yet? We are able to put down this many miles because we are both retired. But you know what, you don't have to ride far or a lot of miles to benefit from the wind therapy! 🙏💜🤗
@PurpleOnThree I love that you're both able to get that many miles in! What a dream!! I'm not able to ride it yet. The lowering kit is ordered, so I can get it going! I can't wait to see if this is gonna work out for me. If not I may just trade the Ryker & the Versys in on an F3.

Good information to know. I heard that the sway bar is one thing that should get upgraded after a year or so because you really know that there is a difference. With the plan to get one in 2024 now. Like to know what I am getting myself into.
Awesome!! I remember you said before you are interested in a Spyder! Yes, I did forget to mention the sway bar...I got that in 2021 and it made a world of difference in cornerning! 🤗🤗💜💜 Very excited for you to join the ranks!
Good video. After waiting 3 years, I finally bought a 22 F3 Limited Special a few weeks ago. I was wondering about those foam grips you have. Does it make more challenging to twist the right grip back, or is it the same?
Congratulations!! So happy for you! I waited a whole year until I found my 2018. I have noticed no difference with the throttle. It throttles easily and snaps right back. Hope that helps. What color is your F3? And thank you for the compliment...I hope this video is helpful to others. 💜🤗
Oh it’s a red with black rims. I went ahead and bought a bunch of mod items already. Same as you, I’d rather not say how much lol. I also got one of those brake free lights for my helmet. It works pretty good.
Virginia is a bit chilly right now. I did get the whole warm up suit thing, but haven’t tried it out yet. I do think I’ll go ahead and hook it up next week and give it a spin though.
Very nice! Over the last couple years I had been looking to get Tammie a Spyder. My question is if you had it to do over again would you stay with an F3 or would you consider the RT? I have been more leaning to the RT personally but that is more of what I know by working on Pops. Also is the adjustment on the F3 able to shorten up to a person that is under 5'?
I won't consider the RT...riding position...on F3...you sit in it...like a cruiser. The floorboards on F3 are the Youfit system and can get the short reach handlebars. You've ridden Pop's... Go try out an F3...I should have let you or Tammie try mine out.
@@RustyTheBiker I think she could go either way...Doyle's wife, Beth is like 4' 10" and she rides an RT. Doyle adapted the floor boards to raise them up for her.
@@PurpleOnThree yeah I looked at the Ryker too but I am hoping she will like to take trips so storage would be nice. Especially for a Harley guy like myself. 🤣 Yeah I had been watching Beth as well and y'all are the ones that has put the bug in my ear.
The ProCut gave me a heads up about fixing my title to make it more searchable...love the motovlogging community and helpfulness of other content creators! Have a great day! Guess what? The sun is actually shining here! 🤗🤗💜💜
Would you consider doing a review of your 2022 travel costs for those 26k+ miles... fuel, lodging, food, souvenirs, clothing, travel gear, tolls, park fees or passes, other entertainment fees ... or would we need to have a defibrillator to be nearby when looking at those costs 😳😵😁
That's a BIG NO, lol....I can tell you that I tracked our Florida fuel costs...4,500 miles and $1,100 for both bikes in April 2022. Do you get a defibrillator as a retirement gift from your company? Or maybe they should be an accessory for Spyders?? 😂😂😉😉💜💜
That is pretty low running costs for that many miles. And after seeing the oil and engine condition last summer, you have a whole lot more files to go. Another 50k will be no problem.
I'm glad to hear this from someone who knows their bikes, Dewey! They really are designed for 100K and I never have to add oil...I forgot to mention that in the video. Of course, I showed this comment to Tommy so he can see how much money we are saving per mile, lol. 😂😂😉😉🤗🤗💜💜
I have been using the stock tire, yes. Waiting for the Kenda Kanine...for some reason they are hard to get...I've had them on order for a year. I get 15K out of my rear, which isn't awful. Doyle just told me Beth had a car tire on the rear and it only got 12K....I am just not ready to switch to a car tire ...I want the handling in the curves and I don't want to gamble..🤷
Were you able to test ride the spider before buying. I would love to ride one. Really put some great miles on that spider I couldn’t imagine that must’ve been so much fun. I think I put about 18 or 19,000 the first year on my Harley Dyna wide glide.
Hey, Dean! Hope you are doing well! Sounds like some pretty good miles of smiles on that wide glide!! Yes, I wrote a little bit about that in the letter I sent you on our riding. Lots of fun for sure! 💜🤗🙏🏻
I test rode an F3 and fell in love....in a parking lot lol. I did not test ride my current one...bought it sight unseen on FB Marketplace. I have test ridden a 2023 model and I must say I am in love with it too, lol!
Yes I love that Dyna, I think the first year I had it I was really close to 20,000 miles I was on it all the time I couldn’t believe I had a motorcycle again and a brand new Harley Davidson like one like I always wanted.
Well, now I am not exactly sure but I will inquire further when I get my 50,000 mile service done on April 4th and I will get back to you. Thanks for asking! 💜🤗
Received a new rear tire a few days ago and asked about the seals. My service technician changes them with each tire change. His words were "it's cheap insurance" to protect the bearings.
I would really like to know if they have solved the sprocket problem. You should maybe need to replace the sprocket at 75,000+ miles. Then why did the axle bearings go out? That sounds like a really short life.
Well I had the final fix on the sprocket a month ago... Hopefully 😁. ...the new and improved sprocket. The bearings did not go out...I asked my service person and he said he always changes them... His words were "it's cheap insurance". I think he charges $20 for them. I'm good with that! 💜🤗

Outstanding information. Loved the video, and your ride looks great. My wife and I are considering the can am instead of the Freewheeler/Triglide.

She's been a good one for sure! We've shared a LOT of adventures!! 🙏🤗💜
Great review. Boy you have put some miles on that Spyder! I was kinda curious about the tires. Are they hard to get?
Awesome review Jody, excellent job.
Thank you so much! Hope you're having a good week! Happy New Year!
Woo hoo!💜🤗
TommyG, I am betting we really are going to get them in March, like they told us...fingers crossed!!🤞
Wow, we can get them in dribs and drabs, but generally about a 3 month wait. They com from USA to Oz. Weird how the supply chain works
Very strange!!

Great insights! Ride on Jody!

Ummm.... TommyG 😁😁😂

Thank you, Xavier! 🤗💜 I'm smitten 😂
Do you use car tires on the CanAm? My friend rides a Harley Trike and they use car tires on rear!!
I do not, though others do....some claim they are the cat's meow and yet others say not so much....
Oh I bet that is sharp looking!! The brake light helmet is a great idea! Do you live somewhere warm so that you can ride it now or ride it soon?
Virginia is a bit chilly right now. I did get the whole warm up suit thing, but haven’t tried it out yet. I do think I’ll go ahead and hook it up next week and give it a spin though.
Yayyyyyy! Heated gear really makes a difference! I took a ride a week ago when it was in the 40s.
Your miles ridden in just a couple years is impressive. 👍
Thank you! Well, I AM retired now 😁....just rolled over 70K on this trip...I need to keep my Spyder another year...I better be careful😅😉😁🤗💜
@@PurpleOnThree no no… keep going. It could be good and worn out just in time for the end of season sales on the 2024 models. 🥳
Those costs each year are pretty low !
That’s great. !
DON'T let Lucinda see this video!!
@@PSPTommyG lol
Right? So now you know what you'll be getting in to for Lucinda's Spyder!! 🤗🤗💜💜
@@PurpleOnThree ....OK, just dont tell her..hahaha
@@PSPTommyG - Baja hahaha
And thank you! 💜🤗
@@PurpleOnThree thanks I know pops loves his rt but pops is also much taller than Tammie 😂
Great title great content great channel purple on three 💜👌👍😀👏😊💜

Would you consider doing a review of your 2022 travel costs for those 26k+ miles... fuel, lodging, food, souvenirs, clothing, travel gear, tolls, park fees or passes, other entertainment fees ... or would we need to have a defibrillator to be nearby when looking at those costs 😳😵😁
We could!!...I would need the DEFIB!!!
@@PSPTommyG I might need one too... retirement plan... lots of miles, lots of rear tires... lots of funds.. and a defib 👊😎👍
That's a BIG NO, lol....I can tell you that I tracked our Florida fuel costs...4,500 miles and $1,100 for both bikes in April 2022. Do you get a defibrillator as a retirement gift from your company? Or maybe they should be an accessory for Spyders?? 😂😂😉😉💜💜
@@PurpleOnThree I think I get a cake when I retire, but it's for sharing with everyone 😊
For how much you two ride, thats really not bad at all. Do you use the stock Kenda rear tire? You can get more miles if you switch over to a car tire.
@@PurpleOnThree Depends on the car tire, but you guys are running the heavy spyders, so that might be part of it.
They need a different compound for the rear tire. It's to soft and raises in the middle causing it to wear out faster
Why do you suppose they keep making it out of the same compound? More tire choices would be a great idea!!
Awesome!
Thank you!! Have a great week! 🤗🤗💜💜
Were you able to test ride the spider before buying. I would love to ride one. Really put some great miles on that spider I couldn’t imagine that must’ve been so much fun. I think I put about 18 or 19,000 the first year on my Harley Dyna wide glide.
Well I found another vid that answers that question lol. I was trying to
That stock rear tire must have been more for high performance than longevity.
Yes I love that Dyna, I think the first year I had it I was really close to 20,000 miles I was on it all the time I couldn’t believe I had a motorcycle again and a brand new Harley Davidson like one like I always wanted.
Thanks for sharing.
And I sure do appreciate you watching!! 🤗💜
What’s with the rear seals going twice !!??
Well, now I am not exactly sure but I will inquire further when I get my 50,000 mile service done on April 4th and I will get back to you. Thanks for asking! 💜🤗
Received a new rear tire a few days ago and asked about the seals. My service technician changes them with each tire change. His words were "it's cheap insurance" to protect the bearings.
Tommy has enough room on his Harley, he just wanted his bike to be lighter! ✌️😂
YES!!! Lighter is FASSSSSTTTEEERRRRR...🤩
ohhhhhh, so that's it!!😂
Money well spent for the hours spent riding.
Right! It was either that or replace the ancient lawnmower and we all know which makes more smiles!! 😂🤗💜
@@PurpleOnThree Glad to hear that on the bearings. I have been looking seriously at getting a Spyder. I like the Red color of the FS but then I like the features of the RT.
thank you Jody
