Hi SMRBI! Nope not at all. It's only for resort guests and even if your staying at Vivid, if you don't have the wristband from the main hotel building, you're not getting in.
Hi Shany! Yes I think they had jet skis but those would always be an extra charge. The waves are quite strong at this beach, so there isn't a whole lot but just playing in the waves is what most people end up doing. That said, you can also walk about 10-15 minutes north toward downtown and you'll find Aqua World, where they do tons of various tours including speed boat rides, snorkel tours, fishing, etc. Plus it's a fun place to grab a beer and people watch!
As always, thanks for the review. It's unfortunate they close so early. It would be great to see the sunset there. I think 8p would be perfect. Also, in my opinion, it should have some type of activity like a beach party with a DJ. Not all day but a couple of hours one or two days a week would be nice. Maybe in the future. I did have a question. Do they have lockers and showers?
Hi Demetrius! The sunset is on the lagoon side so it's WAY better to watch it from the 2nd floor (the Food & Beverage Level) or from the rooftop, where the bar is open and they seemed to be having a DJ up there around sunset each night. I think there are plans for beach parties for sure but they just need to get everything else organized first. I didn't see any lockers there but I also didn't ask about this. I kind of doubt it though. They definitely have outdoor showers by the pool so you can wash the sand off! Thanks for watching!
HI Megan! If you mean the main tourist area of the Cancun peninsula, it's about a half hour via the local bus ($1) or if you mean real downtown Cancun, that's about an hour by bus. It's super easy via the bus or you can Uber or if you're rich, you can take a taxi. Plenty of stuff to see on the Cancun Peninsula but going to the real downtown is very interesting too!
Hi Kaylin! Ok so the beds that are right in the front with an unobstructed view are slightly more expensive than the beds at the back. I believe it was $150 for the back beds and $215 for the front beds but again, you could offset that cost by simply buying a super expensive bottle of Moet (not that they are marking it up tons - in fact, they were charging the same price as it cost at the local grocery store - it's just super expensive champagne!). I apologize for not getting the specifics on this but I will say that, in my experience, prices for Bali beds fluctuate more than anything else at a resort...If you just want to have the bed for hanging out, then it's a cost easily shared between 2 couples...
Hi Christine, I have loved your videos so far about the Hyatt Vivid. One question though, before the resort opened it was advertised that there was supposed to be a food hall called the Global Eatery. Any word on that?
Hi Jeff! This is where the buffet is located (and it's the Mexican restaurant at night). I think they're waiting until occupancy is significantly higher - right now, lots of people are eating at the Beach Club or Mediterranean restaurant (both a la carte), or the Taco Truck. The Hub and Ceviche truck get a lot of activity too, but I'd say the first 3 listed are my favourites. Have you booked already or are you just waiting to see how it all looks? Thanks for watching!
@@ChristineTurner Makes total sense, thank you! It was just odd how I never heard any mention of it after opening. It’s still listed on their page too. As you said though, there are plenty of food options. My wife and I are landing early on May 28. We booked back in February for the same Vantage Club Golf/Ocean View that you had. We are both teachers and finish up work next week, so we can’t wait to get there! Your videos have made us even more excited!

Hey Christine, thinking about booking at the new Hyatt vivid. I hear there is a lot of construction going on. Can you recommend the best/certain room category at this resort. Thank you!! - JIM
Hi Jimbo! There was but I only noticed it for the first day or so. To be farthest away from it, you'd want to request a room that's farthest from Dreams. I was booked in a Vantage Club Golf/Oceanview room and the views were great!
That’s the room I was leaning towards. Right now it’s like $112 a person. Hopefully the a la carte breakfast spot for vantage members only will be opened by mid August?? Thank you!!

Hi Christine, I’m sorry I’m new to holidaying but I booked for my honeymoon in vivid with my wife and wondering whether this is including in my booking ? And is this covered under the all inclusive or do you have to pay for food and drinks in the beach club ?
Hi AThoughtExperiment! Yes it’s all included. The only extra charge is if you want one of those Bali beds (all others are currently free to use) and there are also bottles of high end champagne which are not included (but regular sparkling wine is!!). Hope you have a great honeymoon!
@@nyrdzwebsite I should also mention (because a few couples we spoke to didn't know this) - if you've booked Vantage Club, you'll get a beach bag in your room and may get a bottle of sparkling wine. Hi Jui! All inclusive includes all the restaurants, snacks, and room service. There are a couple of items at some restaurants that have an extra cost, but these are very clearly noted. Most things are included - just a handful of items that are extra.
Ok, ok, you talked me into it. Already got this year's trips booked but this looks like a Christmas 2025 trip. I assume Cancun is far enough south to be a good Christmas beach vacation, right?
Hi DeeDee! Ha ha honestly I’ve already priced out a potential trip for Dec too. Would love to go back and experience this place when it’s 100%. Yeah it’s pretty good weather wise unless a storm rolls in (same as anywhere). I was in Cancun (Now Emerald, since closed to reopen as secrets Emerald later this year) in Dec 22 and it was super hot but then for Xmas we transferred over to the new Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya and it rained (socked in Vancouver style rain) for 3/5 days. @@lovesophia19 I'm not the kind of person that's bothered by music and dancing, and I think it's probably a little premature to judge the service of a place that just opened and probably hasn't finished hiring and training staff yet. But I appreciate your input and I'll keep it in mind.
@@lovesophia19 hi SP! Which floor are you on that you can hear the music? Hi Santa! Yeah I agree and I love that the resort is already strategizing how to deal with this. Many resorts would just accept it as is but this resort is great at being proactive. Thanks for watching!
Hi Barbara! Once again, NO ONE asked but it was all prepaid so I’m covered either way. Curious though, if later this year, they will be enforcing it on the arrivals side.
