The choreography for these fights was amazing. The scary thing is these fights really took place eons ago and weren't made up. These warriors were that well trained

One of the best sword and spear combat scene ever.
Even Hector knew he isn't gonna win which is why he asked Achilles to allow proper funeral rites for the one who'd lose.
That's a sinking feeling to know that you're doomed from the start. That you've kissed your wife and hugged your kids for the last time...but to go ahead and play it out.

I just don't understand why's everyone hating on Hector for killing Patroclus, it's WAR, what else would you expect? Of course, I feel bad for (almost) all of the characters who died, but that's just how the story is
you gotta give it to Brad for playing this part of Achilles so perfectly even tho the fight was really describe in the mythology book but still this really did happened between Hector and Achilles, the fool really thought he killed him until he found out he killed the wrong person which was Achilles close blooded cousin who he treated like a brother, trained him and taught him almost nearly everything Achilles knows about combat, i would avenge my fall family too
@Pisstake no no Achilles was training him just to prepare him for war one day, when he falls it will be up to Patroclus to take his place he wasn't ready that's all and that's why Achilles prevented him for taking his place in the fights, its really not his fault, he was actually just teaching him his ways, which is the basics of self defense ..its not his fault ..really it was Patroclus choice to wear his armor and take his skills up ta the test ..well this is just my opinion, i don't really believe it was Achilles fault cause Patroclus was thirsty for blood but wasn't ready, he didn't have the brute strength to wield a sword yet, so hector over powered him

What amazes me is how these warriors could strike shields as hard as they did with bronze swords and not bend or break them. I did notice that Achilles' sword did deform at the tip a little but considering how hard he was striking hector's shield. It should've taken way more damage.

@@trtr-bc3zl they could still be going hard. If I told you all I was going to do was jab you in the face, you think you could dodge every one of them? I could switch the speed and tempo, aim a little lower or higher. They knew the choreography but not knowing how hard either one of them would come adds real tension and anxiety during shooting.

It felt more Achiles was playing with him, just letting him give his best before humiliating him, then tried to finish him with the jump-thrust attack ( 2:00 ) he used against the trojan champion at the start of the film. You can clearly see he was annoyed that he didn't finish him there, and that maybe Hector was better than he tought. That lasts until Hector scratches his armor at 2:13, you can see in Achiles face he is now angry knowing Hector got a hit on him. His attacks get more and more vicious, up until he kills him
