Bro this game is so intricately designed I have absolutly no idea how I even figured anything out as a kid. Guess I had all the time in the world and not a care in sight so exploring didn’t feel like bashing my head against a wall. I’ve been loving it but I’m basically watching a video and following as I play 🤣

I mean I'll agree that Powerpyx isn't always great at describing things, it's literally one of the first things Tony Jay's character tells you in the beginning of the game that water is fatal to vampires, but as the Soul Reaver in the Spectral Realm water is like air and will not harm Raziel.
You're absolutely right, he does talk about that however I still didn't take that as a guarantee that it wouldn't void the trophy but maybe that's just me.

It is what the game tells you in the first 5 minutes :D I also explained why jumping into a pool of water is missable -> because you unlock ability to swim and therefore become immune to water.

The fact that there is also a full video of every single trophy in the guide itself, to clarify any kind of misunderstanding makes it even worse. In reality it was mostly me venting my frustrations regarding the way something is explained that I see in many guides out there and I'm not the only person in this community who feels this way. Thirdly I didn't watch the video guide because it's easier for me to look at a written guide during a live stream so I never saw the video but clearly it would've made what I was supposed to do very obvious if I did. I think you didn't complain enough about the ground breaking game, theres so many things this game did right. For instance, did you notice there were no loading screens? They hid them while you open doors. I was waiting for you to say "it doesn't even have photo mode" Your problems with it are minimal, like when you said you can't kill these guys unless you have the reaver when not 2 foot next to you are two objects to impale them with (above the blocks go look), I can't imagine the time wasted doing that. Seems like you had a bigger problem with the remakes trophy system. I think it needs at least one more trophy. 1. Make multiple save files.

Oh man I’m playing this right now I loved it on the ps1. Watching your video I think I may have to do another play through I have picked up a glyph upgrade however reading online i may be alright it seems there is a cap on the amount of energy you can get and if you hit the maximum with the spell it won’t count it only counts if you hit maximum glyph energy with the blue collectible not the spells. So hopefully it still unlocks but if not then another play though 😂 anyway great video as always 👍
@GawdlikeMatt No I know I didn't. I picked up all the glyphs, health upgrades and energy capacity upgrades as I went. I didn't backtrack for anything after getting the final glyph. Not discrediting what you experienced. I feel like it's just bugged in an odd way for some people.

I hate to leave a dislike just because you have an opinion, but I know any interaction helps your algorithm, so there's that. I'll admit, Soul Reaver has many gameplay elements that I also find annoying, even without going for a platinum trophy, but I don't love these games so much because of their gameplay. I love them for their story. The Legacy of Kain series as a whole is one of my favorite stories of all time, not just in gaming. I believe the story really ramps up in Soul Reaver 2. If you don't like games for their stories, this series isn't for you, but I do hope you give it a try. Soul Reaver 2 is less annoying than Soul Reaver 1, but is also more linear with no secrets to hunt for. Fewer block puzzles too lol.
I've heard this regarding the story from several different people now and it really seems like these games are most appreciated when you look at all of them as a combined effort in that regard. It's hard to tell just how good the narrative is from just the first game alone but hearing how good the overall story is from so many different people I mean it can't be bullshit. I may revisit, just really not sure when 😅 that being said not sure what I did to deserve a dislike.
nah, all the "gameplay" parts of this game are absolute dogwater. My rose tinted glasses were about the story, voice acting, and style of the game and those are all still amazing. Its just garbage to play and the remasters are known to be quite buggy. If these games get a new sequel or game in the series I hope to god it isn't all blocks and platforming with mid af combat or i'll pass.

PlayStation 4 version has a soul reaver 2 platinum. I decided to platinum the first soul reaver again today! So that can have three platinum’s.
Completed it the other day. Only real problem i had was knowing where to go after a few bosses
