Before anyone asks Blast Off! And The Spears of Gungir are included at the end of the video. I placed them last since I’m sure most of you are more interested in hearing about the other 6 executions mentioned first. Also I apologize for some of the questionable edits in this video. I got hit with a ton of copyright claims and was trying to edit around them. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy the video!
@@johans3164 Not quite. Mondo actually dies of brain hemmoraging. The electricity is merely to keep him conscious. If you've heard of the Euthanasia Rollercoaster, it's in fact the same principle. The motorcycle continues until his body disintegrates, until his body fat becomes a butter-like substance (actually soap) while the rest of his body was broken down and made into the plastic container.
The fire truck in celestes execution can also be viewed as reality finally hitting her, as the play is set in an archaic era with queens, but the fire truck was modern.
I kind of think of it as mental punishment. It’s like “not even the thing that’s meant to save you wants to save you! That’s what you get for killing and using Hifumi!
I feel like that Jin Kirigiri's execution could be a symbol of the Academy's fall. Since Jin was the headmaster of Hope's Peak at the time, he went down with the academy. Hope's Peak Academy was a symbol of hope, which could be the rocket blasting off, and the end of Hope's Peak was the despair Junko made, the fall of the rocket. In the end, the Academy was a skeleton of what it use to be.
I heard somewhere that the reason Leon was dragged by a chain to his execution to represent the hatred he now has for baseball, but is being forced to play because he's an ultimate.
Actually Leon in his last free time event he tolds Makoto that he doesn't hate Baseball, he only hates practice and how much they begged him to play. So I think is more to obligue him to take a practice, dying doing something he hated. The theory you mentioned it's really good :D. Also it could simulate anxiety after all Leon, Teruteru and Kaede were quite in a similar situation, with them or/and someone else at the border of death.
@@ev9702 teruteru was humiliated, he became human fried food, something he hated. And they gave him a pig rather than his face, it was just to humiliate him while giving him despair. And Kaede loved piano but I doubt it’s fun when your the fingers running through the board while being choked, before dying from hanging, and then being squashed by multiple spikes.
@@goodmorningpeople. while also playing off-key because the song they were playing was supposed to be played with all black keys, Kaede was hung to play at white keys. It was also very good foreshadowing that she was innocent because she wasn't "blackened" making her execution all the more bs
Danganronpa executions are so weirdly beautiful. They have so much thought put onto it. Even tho it's literally someone dying, I love rewatching them just to see that beautiful animation.
I mean... [spoilers for DR2] I wouldn't call Mikan's "beautiful"... I think it was the lamest one. I do wonder what they thought when they decided to create that excecution.
Some sad facts about kiyotakas reaction to mondos death -it's cannon that no music played during mondos death so all everyone (Besides the audience watching the anime/game) could hear was Kiyotaka screaming and begging for the execution to stop. - Kiyotaka starved himself thinking that monokuma would feed him mondo because as we all know monokuma is a little shit In conclusion: Kiyotaka is best boy and deserved better in the killing game.
I always thought the reason why Makoto and Kyoko aren't tied to their chairs in their executions was because by that point they both know that escaping the execution is impossible, and they have no choice but to just sit there and wait for their execution to end.
Yeah, quite honestly in their position I'd probably imagine running away would lead to a much more cruel death than the relatively quick death offered by the trash compactor.
I thought the pause in Junko's execution was to get Junko's hopes up, before quickly dropping on her before she could realize so she wouldn't be able to die with that sweet sweet despair she hoped for. But that was just my idea lol
I thought she looked unsatisfied because up to that point she looked like she was enjoying the executions because she was reliving her classmate's despair but when she got to the last one she wasn't enjoying it anymore because no one died to it. She was enjoying the execution up to the point of the crusher because Makoto didn't die to it so there was no enjoyment for her.
ive always loved the theory that the pause when her expression changes is her confused that she hasnt been crushed yet, like something messed up and she wasnt actually going to die. so the last feeling she ever feels isnt that intoxicating despair she always takes pleasure in but actually just regular confusion- which to her, is the probably the most despair filled way to go
I think that “After School Lesson” was meant to be Junko’s execution since she was the “real” killer in the last case. It’s weird that Makoto and Kirigiri share the same execution and it really does not fit either of them; on the other hand, it perfectly fits Junko’s idea of boredom! It’s also relevant that Junko was actually killed by “After School Lesson” during the Ultimate Punishment
That makes a lot of sense, actually. I never understood why Monokuma would use the same execution for Kirigiri, like surely he would have spun something more personal to her - probably something involving Jin Kirigiri
@@randomclustermissile8701 I always thought that "After School Lesson" was Kyoko's execution, because those lessons are usually called "Detention". And the whole detention theme was related to her Ultimate Detective talent.
I feel like it does kinda fit Makoto, because he was the one who really had no talent other than luck or whatever. So just kind of a school related thing. It’s kind of hard to explain, but I feel like it could make sense for Makoto. Idk about Kyoko, so I agree with you there. Same with Junko. Also I’m holding an ice cream bar while typing this pls helpq I almost just killed my ipad
@@rodcasascordero1712 I thought about that, and it makes sense, they are both valid possibilities. Maybe it does not perfectly fit the whole concept of being a Kirigiri detective. I mean, they are more about truth than justice. Besides, the word “detention” makes me think of a judge or a prosecutor rather than a detective, but maybe I’m being too subtle. Also, perhaps the authors liked the ambivalence of this execution, who knows!
Two things: Regarding Alter Ego's execution, I feel the use of a bulldozer may be a reference to Sakura, and how her motive was having her dojo saved; it's likely the bulldozer was salvaged from what monokuma intended her execution to be Regarding Junko's execution, I didn't think that final moment was supposed to be boredom. I think that at the end, she was confused when the machine paused; instead of feeling despair in her final moments like she would want, she dies confused
@enddorb your wrong about sakura's execution... Sakura's execution is called Deciding Match of the Whole Galaxy and described as the following: "Ōgami is standing in a wasteland. An army of aliens appears and surround her, manipulating the atmosphere. Even though Ōgami successfully defeats them one after another, the enemies don't stop appearing. Eventually, it becomes too cramped and she dies by the pressure of being buried in their bodies."
I don't think it was so she dies confused, I think it was because she would die hopeful, something she hates. Since Makoto did not actually die in his execution, the fact that the machine paused would probably mean that nobody would die, making her feel, unconsionly, hopeful.
out of everyone's executions in danganronpa 1,Mondo's is by far the most confusing, disgusting and horrifying to me. Just because he was completely conscious during it
I think I kind of agree but there are worse executions like in drv3 the one guy gets boiled alive (and conscious) (I have no intent to disagree with you just stating my opinion).
This is just how I interpreted it, but I think there’s an extra little wrinkle to Mondo’s execution. I’d always wondered why Monokuma had his little hairdo- just “making fun of it” didn’t sit right with me. I think it was to represent Daiya’s death, where the younger brother drove the older brother to death. I think that’s why he has the hair- Monokuma is supposed to represent Mondo, since he is the smaller one with the lighter hair, and Mondo is supposed to be Daiya, the older brother killed by the younger one. Mondo’s death was reminiscent of his brother’s, likely to make him despair over guilt of Daiya’s death. Maybe this is a stretch, but that’s what it seemed like to me haha
I like your idea. Specially because "Mondokuma" jumps off the bike seconds before the execution, just like the real Mondo escaped the truck impact that killed his brother
I think the reason Makoto and Kyoko’s death were both school themed was because they were, in monokumas point of view, trouble makers. Unlike the other executions they weren’t being executed for killing anyone but because Monokuma wanted to punish them for getting too close to solving the mystery of the school and for ruining their “school lives.” I think monokuma wanted to taunt them by saying if they had just played by the rules and stopped poking their noses everywhere they wouldn’t be in “detention” right now.
Another thing about that execution that I don’t see many people talking about is that unlike the other, Monokuma doesn’t say “Iv’e prepared a very special punishment for the ultimate [Insert Title].” With neither Kyoko nor Makoto, Monokuma never mentions the talent of the person he’s killing. My head canon is that he didn’t mention Kyoko’s because he didn’t want Kyoko to remember what her talent was, and for Makoto he didn’t say it was made for the ultimate lucky student because… well it wasn’t made for the ultimate lucky student was it?
In Jin's execution, theres actually an article of an astronaut falling to Earth. As he was falling he kept cursing the operators. He was reduced to a lump of burnt meat instead of a skeleton. It might also represent how Hopes Peak was such a high standard school only to fall on the hands of their own student.
Im surprised you didnt talk about the sad symbolism behind blast off. The reason that he is blastedto the moon and in other games the rocket is seen on the moon is becaus eof his wife. Her full name is unknown, but in Danganronpa Kirigiri her maiden name is revealed to be Uzuchi, which means a "rabbit hammer". In the Japanese culture, there is a well-known story about a rabbit hammering mochi in the moon, and thus her maiden name could be a reference to her husband's space-related execution. Also he was likely burnt into as skeleton not decomposed.
well, fire needs an oxygen component to form, therefore he wouldn't have actually burnt, and so it was probably purely because of aesthetic/design choice. but i didn't know about the story, so thats cool!
@@natsuki-j9f have you never seen a ship come back down from orbit? they generally catch fiore on the outside and heat up quite a lot. its one of the most dangerous parts of space flight
I saw a comment forever ago about the blackboard showing the process of conception in After School Lesson, that it was meant to insult Naegi and Kirigiri because of the romantic undertones of their relationship and in each of the execution scenarios, one essentially condemned the other to death.
One theory i've heard about Junko's execution is that she wasnt expecting to die, as backed up by a line during the climax of danganronpa 2 ''Last time I ended up dying''
Making leon's execution the very first one in all three games was such a great move/decision. Idk what it is abt his that got me hooked but i still think about it every now and then. Regardless on how good or bad the rest of the executions that follows are, his execution definitely sealed the deal for me
It's because unlike all the others he reacts more like an actual human which gets us invested and makes us feel bad for him. It also set a more fearful and dark tone to the show. He death was the only one that would really feel real to people because it makes you feel bad for him.
The intro execution is what got me into the series. It was such an amazing tone setter that I couldn't stop playing through the games one by one after seeing that intro.
Same! I originally didn’t think I was going to ever play the games or watch any of it, but then I saw a clip about the execution and i was so intrigued
I’ve always thought that during the after school lesson execution makoto and kyoko’s faces changed colors because they were trying to suffocate themselves by not breathing so as they wouldn’t be conscious when they were crushed. I think if this would have happened it would’ve caused junko despair to see that an elaborate execution she created did not work as intended that much. This is just my opinion.
ok so I think makoto and kirigiris executions explain that in the end, everting is lost, like kirigiri never would get to end the despair in the killing game and naegi had no future and was killed by the school he loved so much. And they didn’t leave the seats because they got what monokumas lesson, it’s that you can never leave in the end, despair wins.. I think in every execution monokuma teaches something for the class, for mukuros the lesson is that if you disobey the rules, you die, for leons actions have consequences. For mondos it’s, don’t act foolish and let your emotions control you, for celestes it’s that you won’t get what you want in this school of despair, and for alter ego, it’s that you can’t hide stuff from me type stuff. Anyways that’s just a theory, A GAME THEO-
In the final scene of Leon’s execution, the bloody rolling baseball is covered in RED blood. Every other example of blood in Danganroapa is pink. Sorry if I misspelled Danganroapa
@@sweetiedrops7484 yes he did he changed his name became emo depressed and back to hopes peak with kyoko who now has yellow hair and kyoko with yellow hair died
14:53 I actually see this as the one last, tiny bit of regret she actually has. I always saw Junko as kind of a childish maniac, who thinks everything is a good idea until it actually goes horridly wrong, but she has to stand up to it. Personally, I don't think Junko's addiction to despair is as genuine as she makes it sound, and that it's more of a façade she put on her whole life to avoid her crippling boredom. I think Junko's stare upwards is more reminiscent of the idea of punishment as a whole, how an action creates a reaction and that leads to a result, and that those results aren't always a good thing. I think that, in causing the tragedy, she felt invincible, like she couldn't lose, and that even in losing, she'd always make a victory out of it, making this one, solitary moment of genuine fear, where she realises that she's being punished for the despair she caused, and not being rewarded with more despair, it the single moment she might have regretted what she did. Like, the one time she was actually punished for something. I also think the fact that she takes Monokuma with her is something to look at, and that she's wearing her Queenly crown as well. It's like she's taking bits and pieces of herself with her, so that, even though she denies it, she does feel sentimental, and I guess would feel bad if Monokuma lives on without her, even though he kinda does. Lastly, people complain about Junko's lack of motivation, but I think that that's the point; her motivation was that she had none, for anything. Thus the killing game, kind of like her Magnum Opus. She brought bits and pieces of things important to her into that; control, punishment, despair and motivation. In her final punishment, right up until the very, very last second she's smiling like she wanted this, which would be a lie. I think she's using the control she thinks she has (and sort of does) as an escape from the death she's subjecting herself to, and that she could leave any moment she wanted is an indicator of how deluded she is. So, in that last moment, when she realises that she really is gonna die, and when she realises, then, that it's not all 'fun-and-games', is possibly her most important moment. She caused insane pain, suffering and death to the whole world and because of that, her name will ring down in history, but, at the same time, it was all just really because she was bored. She didn't have to do any of that, and the fact that she didn't is why I feel she looks up. One last, tiny moment of "Wait, am I the villain?" mixed with "What have I done?" I kinda really like Junko, she's got a lot to analyse, even in a tiny moment like this.
Mondo’s execution reminds me of that one scene in the Simpson’s Movie, when homer has to ride a motorcycle around a spherical cage three times to win a new car. Anyone else? Edit: thanks for all the likes! It’s the most I’ve gotten!
I remember it being only one time. but I might be wrong who knows. Damn now I’m imagining either Mondo in Simpsons or Homer in Dangan. And idk which is worse
i read about distrust today, and i read that one of the executions was someone dying by guillotine. i bet that execution for celeste because of the "queen of versailles" title!
I thought that for Kirigiri and Naegi's execution that they were just stuck in between the chair and desk. Literally never gave it more thought than that
Here's my theory on junko's execution. So, basically I also think that the way she looks happy doing everyone's executions is the just thinking about the despair they felt while experiencing it. But during the 'after school lesson' execution, she actually looked up to see if it would crush her or not. She never saw naegi get crushed by it so she assumed that she wouldn't probably get killed by it specifically. But in that moment, she was crushed. The only moment of her life where she didn't wish of despair, the only time she felt "hope" was ultimately taken away from her. She died of hope, she died not realizing she's getting killed in that moment. It might also parallel with mukuro's death, in which mukuro would never have thought to die in such way. She never thought her sister would betray her. As said with her words; "this... wasn't....supposed.. to... why... me..." in such disbelief and despair, she was betrayed. And junko was betrayed by her own contraption, her own death trap and was ultimately killed. As a result, both of the ultimate despairs died in a way they themselves couldn't have possibly thought of. That's just how I see it tho so don't take it to seriously lol
I always assumed in Mondo's execution the death cage just threw out his dead body and the butter was prepared ahead of time to make it look like he turned into it.
I'd imagine that inside the butter container is pretty much a disgusting bloody mess and monokuma is basically using his shredded guts as pancake filling. So yea
Yeah, I always thought that it was either not real butter and just his like... remnants or not actually Mondo and that Monokuma did it just to mess with Taka
i always assumed he just went so fast that he vaporized and the energy was used to make the butter but i,,,i guess there'd need to be a few other ingredients involved if just making the butter with ingredients was the issue,
Wait have y'all seen a butter churner or whatever its called? Most times the machine spins the milk for a lot of times that seperates the fat from the butter milk, which makes butter. So I guess that's where the concept came from??
I also think that mondos execution is taunting him, marking him out to be a clown, because the cadge of death is a circus act, not much but I found it interesting.
I always just sort of assumed that during Mondo's execution, his body contents were separated, leaving behind a small tub of fat, which was tubbed up like butter.
My only question is how did the remnants of hope get Junkos Body Parts?? She was crushed to death, and they couldn't have talent them from Mukuro, cuz Mukuro got exploded
The only ones from the remnants of Despair who stole bodyparts from Junko were Fuyuhiko,Mikan and Nagito, but I don´t really understand how they could steal them from a pancake Junko.
After seeing Leon's execution (I first got introduced to the anime adaptation but only watched the first trial), it took me weeks to recover from it and watch the rest of the gameplay. It really did nail that eerie factor. Honestly, it was a great way to jumpstart the game and set the tone for the entire series.
There is a scene in Dangaronpa 3 anime (Future Arc) where Naegi has a nightmare and remembers all the corpses. Link bellow (it has spoilers for the anime) ua-cam.com/video/f2tv5Rwn8e4/v-deo.html

Uhh I'm pretty sure Junko stopped for a second at the end of her execution to look up because she was wondering why the final slam wasn't coming down, you can even see her eyes go up, just a little bit for comedic effect.
Theory: Another reason the executions are based off their talents is to make them feel betrayed by their talents Just like they made the victim and the spotless feel. Pls no hate pls pls pls
I haven’t even finished the video, but I wanted to say this(about the executions but mostly 11037’s) I used to think, “Oh baseball man died by baseballs” and that was it. From the foreshadowing on his shirt to his talent and attitude towards baseball, was really fascinating. I feel like you explained so many little things that most of us overlooked and didn’t appreciate. So thank you for that👏👏👏 After I finish this video imma go rewatch all the executions again lol
@@jojomicheldu59 Yeah, but if you actually watched the anime and played the game you would understand his point of view even though he's not ALL innocent.
@@jackfrost9512 I can agree with that last one that would be my opinion but I wouldn't kill anyone tell everyone about the note and then everyone would be aware
One thing that you forgot to mention was the symbolism of “Blast Off.” I personally think that it symbolizes the great things that he wants Hope’s Peak’s Students to reach as ultimates, or “reaching for the stars,” but he crashes down because Junko ruined the world and causes the best of the best to commit murder and cause despair, ruining the point and purpose of Hope’s Peak Academy and the entire premise of ultimates.
I think that Junko didn't really die in her last execution, and that is why she looked disappointed. Afterall, there's a plothole in DR2 assuming she was crushed to death.
Fun fact: I found a fangan where Chapter 5 of that game was a mix of Chapters 4 and 5 of Danganronpa 1. Compared to the canon games this fangan series is brutal. The name is Danganronpa Another Despair Academy, aka DRA1, and it has a much more well-known sequel named SDRA2, which is currently being translated. If you wanna check out the first game, DRA1´s chapter 1 is out in English, but the rest is in Korean, while the 2nd game SDRA2 just finished Chapter 4´s translation on Johnny Youngster´s channel.
I like that Blast Off is the first *and* last execution in the series (I don’t consider K1B0’s rampage and self destruct to really be an execution) and how the two instances have completely opposite effects. When it’s used on Kirigiri, it establishes Monokuma as being in complete control, Jin is bound and struggling, and he’s killed in a way that’s so needlessly elaborate for no other reason than to demonstrate that Monokuma is extremely powerful, and able to do whatever it wants. Conversely, when it’s used on Kaito, the result demonstrates Monokuma *losing* control, not having unmatched power. Kaito isn’t bound in any way, but he doesn’t struggle. When the execution hits it’s apex, what should’ve been the moment of maximum despair, Kaito denies it. By succumbing to his illness at that moment, what was meant to be torture became a gift. He was already dying, Monokuma unintentionally made Kaito’s dream a reality. The ultimate astronaut made it to outer space, and showed that for all Monokuma was capable of, the students were master of their own fate and Monokuma couldn’t force them to give in to despair.
Let's face it, the Danganronpa creators are geniuses! (Side note: I read somewhere that during Kyoko's/Makoto's execution that Makoto is actually being taught a Sex Education lesson and Kyoko is being taught a normal lesson. I wanna hear your thoughts, or anyone else's to why this might be.)
I'm deadass a whole year late but anyways I guess its because Kyoko's execution was Makoto imagination and he would've never thought Monokuma would teach sex education lmao
This is about Mondo's execution. So, I just think that maybe the electricity and the speed of the bike caused Friction and if you don't know, friction gives off a burning feeling. Maybe what happened is that there was so much friction that it caused his bones to melt. Thus the Butter -like color. The skin and organs may have also been fused with the melted bones to add flavor to the now "Butter". But that's just my theory and it sounds kinda whack (Even for Danganronpa standards). if y'all have anything to say/criticize then please, go right ahead (just no drama)
Amazing theory! But I just have to say one thing, friction is caused when one thing stops a moving object (or liquid, i.e blood) and when the temperature gets too high, the cells start to break which makes your organs permeable. :)
Leon's execution remains my favorite and has been my favorite since I first saw it. There's just something so intense about it, everything from watching him getting dragged through the hall into the room, to the theme obviously reminiscent of something he hated so much, to the brief moment where he opens his eyes before the barrage of baseballs hits his face, showing he was still alive even at that point. Not to mention the chilling music played behind it as well as the shot of the baseball rolling away smeared with his blood. I wish a few more of the executions showed the setup like Leon's or Celeste's. It gave it that slight edge of something else that made them so memorable to me.
@@coolestdoodever753 Being burned the way she did was very fancy and old (fit her aesthetic) so she wasn't upset about it cause she still dies in a unique way- But then monokuma comes in with the fire truck and she dies in the most common way (car accident) I feel like her execution was based more on her personality rather than talent tbh-
Fun Fact of After-School Lesson - This represents kyoko showing her without her gloves , it was burnt and it shows how kyoko says it as an “after school lesson as a detective”
I always thought that Celestia's death being runover by a truck is a reference to the "Isekai Delivery Service" trope. At the last moments before her death, she says she want to be reincarnated-- so it registered to me that the truck also serves as a support to those words
I believe the implication of Jin's execution is that the rocket overheats (you see it turning red) when he reenters the atmosphere and it burns him to death leaving only his skeleton
Always fun to hear how these executions are even more brutal then we thought, being made to bring the characters as much despair as possible, great video
I always thought that pause before Junko's death was a brief, "wait am I gonna live?" before being crushed, She had sought to inflict despair on others and enjoyed it, and she seemed to enjoy the executions as she went through them so much, she had accepted she would die and just had fun, but that delay gave her a small amount of hope before dashing it, one final despair for the Ultimate Despair
I feel the execution of Alter Ego could also apply to Sakura, since she is supposed to be the one who was executed. I feel it's a reference to fighting games, mostly Street Fighter, bonus levels. As, a lot of fighting games have bonus levels in which one punches a car or other vehicles into oblivion. Now, the fighter and the vehicle would switch places and Sakura would be killed in the same fashion.
0:00 Intro 1:00 The 1,000 Blows 5:05 The Cage Of Death 8:50 The Burning Of The Versailles Witch 11:16 Excavator Destroyer 12:50 After School Lesson 14:20 The Ultimate Punishment 15:11 Blast Off 16:35 The Spears Of Gungir
I think Junko looked like that because she thought Alter Ego would save her like he/she did with Makoto. She talks about loving the despair of death, and if it was taken from her right at it's greatest moment, she would lose her mind. Also, at the time I'm writing this, there are 420 comments.
Actually, a few ppl have said that Leon's execution is because he hates baseball and that's why, it's not exactly referencing to the fact that he does play baseball. And then Mondo's execution is because he doesn't like to be known as a softie and so that's why he dies becoming butter. And then Celeste's is because she said that she doesn't want to die in a common way. If u think about it, getting burned and then getting hit by a firetruck is actually really common that it's triggering to some ppl. And so yeah that was all for those 3 executions.
6:39 I have a feeling that he was simply liquified and vacuumed up into the machine before being packaged up in that tub, obviously, he's not ACTUALLY a tub of butter but more like a tub full of blood and organs no doubt.
Wow I think that according to the first theory, Mondo’s execution is the most cruel and painful one in the whole series (I was super sad that my boi got executed but like THAT) and on top of that Monokuma made it look like funny and weird but it was actually a brutal and gruesome execution. Also I’ve read a comment on this video from Puni The Weeb that says that he speculated that Monokuma’s Mondo wig wasn’t just to make fun of him but also to make him despair more: Monokuma was supposed to represent Mondo and the actual Mondo represents Daiya so that he recreated the whole "Mondo killed his brother" thing and make him despair from the guilt. ;-;
leon's execution is by far my favorite out of dr1 and dr2 (i have yet to play dr3). it being the first execution and how...morbid and painful it mustve been really cemented how i expected the rest of the executions to be. it set a standard, and that standard is pretty high. a part of it is just the shock factor for seeing the first execution in the danganronpa series. there is pure terror in his face and a deep sense of dread in everyone else's face because no one has any idea what to expect. like yeah, they know it's an execution but finding out that monokuma really did mean that it's a "special" execution for [inset blackened here] really shakes you and everyone else. all other characters, including myself, most likely thought it would be like a hanging at the gallows or a beheading. not only is the symbolism of leon being killed by a machine, the only thing that could rival his title as ultimate baseball pro, used for baseball practice upsetting, it's way it's done too. there's something special and morbid about being the first blackened and the first victim of the execution in the entire series. the terror and anticipation and excitement and horror of seeing leon dragged away from the chain? unmatched. completely unmatched. i don't want to add any more to this wall of text but i cannot praise the execution of leon's execution enough. so well done and completely revolted me, as well as excited me to see how other executions would play out.
I like to believe for Mondo’s Execution is that directly when the electricity of the cage went out it probably took Mondo’s corpse out from underneath the stage to cause confusion, so the butter was just a slap in the face for everyone
I think Junko looking up at the crusher before dying means something else. It was held back for a second, so she may have looked up in confusion, or she couldve gotten bored by the wait.
Ok my theory of why Makoto and Kyoko didn't move is different for both of them. Ok Makoto, he didn't move because he thought he killed Mukuro so he felt ashamed and decided to not care about his death. Kyoko didn't escape from her execution because she thought that being a detective is the only thing she's good at, and if she can't prove that she's innocent she's doing her work bad. Tell me what you think, I'm mostly sure for Makoto than Kyoko, but ok thank you and have a nice day.
I missed these types of vids so thanks for bringing it back:) I’m trying to get into other games so , please recommend some please. ❤️ now , I’m gonna cry over chihiro.
Awesome video explaining the executions from DR1, I've played through the game multiple times and understood some of them, but not all of them. Thank you! :)
10:09 oh god, I actually burst out laughing and woke up my roommate 👀 Hell yeah! I'd love to see what other series you'd cover, cos they'd probably be worth checking out! 😃
A theory I have is that when mondo was spinning all of his body vaporizer besides his bones and then somewhere in the cage monokuma might have putted milk and then with his bones it spun until they combined and while in that machine it might have gotten rid of germs and other bacteria along with heating it up and cooling it down.
Personally I always thought it was the heat from re-entry that reduced Jin to a skeleton. Mainly because of the smoke, the bones looking a little burned and the ricket itself not seeming that well insulated, let alone pressurized.
Before anyone asks Blast Off! And The Spears of Gungir are included at the end of the video. I placed them last since I’m sure most of you are more interested in hearing about the other 6 executions mentioned first. Also I apologize for some of the questionable edits in this video. I heard somewhere that the reason Leon was dragged by a chain to his execution to represent the hatred he now has for baseball, but is being forced to play because he's an ultimate.
What about teruteru and kaede?
@@ev9702 keeping up with tradition i geuss
Some sad facts about kiyotakas reaction to mondos death
-it's cannon that no music played during mondos death so all everyone (Besides the audience watching the anime/game) could hear was Kiyotaka screaming and begging for the execution to stop.
- Kiyotaka starved himself thinking that monokuma would feed him mondo because as we all know monokuma is a little shit

Think back to Kirumi’s execution she tried to run away and escape causing her a more painful execution.(a strand of against right??)

I thought the pause in Junko's execution was to get Junko's hopes up, before quickly dropping on her before she could realize so she wouldn't be able to die with that sweet sweet despair she hoped for. But that was just my idea lol
hope....
@@dragonking7369 Well she was grinning until the compactor paused
ive always loved the theory that the pause when her expression changes is her confused that she hasnt been crushed yet, like something messed up and she wasnt actually going to die. so the last feeling she ever feels isnt that intoxicating despair she always takes pleasure in but actually just regular confusion- which to her, is the probably the most despair filled way to go
I think that “After School Lesson” was meant to be Junko’s execution since she was the “real” killer in the last case.
It fit Kyoko, since no one knew about her talent, so to them she was just a normal student
Two things:
Regarding Alter Ego's execution, I feel the use of a bulldozer may be a reference to Sakura, and how her motive was having her dojo saved; it's likely the bulldozer was salvaged from what monokuma intended her execution to be
Regarding Junko's execution, I didn't think that final moment was supposed to be boredom. I think that at the end, she was confused when the machine paused; instead of feeling despair in her final moments like she would want, she dies confused
I was thinking the same thing about Alter Ego's execution's
@enddorb
your wrong about sakura's execution...
Sakura's execution is called Deciding Match of the Whole Galaxy and described as the following:
"Ōgami is standing in a wasteland. An army of aliens appears and surround her, manipulating the atmosphere. Even though Ōgami successfully defeats them one after another, the enemies don't stop appearing. Eventually, it becomes too cramped and she dies by the pressure of being buried in their bodies."
@@chongwillson972 That's an alternative execution, dumb.
I don't think it was so she dies confused, I think it was because she would die hopeful, something she hates.
Since Makoto did not actually die in his execution, the fact that the machine paused would probably mean that nobody would die, making her feel, unconsionly, hopeful.

Maybe this is a stretch, but that’s what it seemed like to me haha

omg nooo that would literally make soo much sense

I really really doubt that
I thought they were changing Color due to fear
im pretty sure it's just them getting flooded of fear and despair
ok so I think makoto and kirigiris executions explain that in the end, everting is lost, like kirigiri never would get to end the despair in the killing game and naegi had no future and was killed by the school he loved so much. And they didn’t leave the seats because they got what monokumas lesson, it’s that you can never leave in the end, despair wins..
I think in every execution monokuma teaches something for the class,
for mukuros the lesson is that if you disobey the rules, you die,
for leons actions have consequences.
For mondos it’s, don’t act foolish and let your emotions control you,
for celestes it’s that you won’t get what you want in this school of despair,

One last, tiny moment of "Wait, am I the villain?" mixed with "What have I done?"
I kinda really like Junko, she's got a lot to analyse, even in a tiny moment like this.
I agree I defenitly saw fear in her eyes when she looked up
underrated !

This is beautiful!
Saying "she's got a lot to analyze" is even better considering what her REAL Ultimate talent is :P

WHY IS IT BUTTER
Nope 👁👄👁✌
I thought that they somehow turned his guts and blood into butter
That makes sense.
Yea..
Mondo butter!, Now boneless and organ-less! 50% off
Came to the comments to see if anyone pointed this out lol
Well actually, the reason why Mondo turned into butter specifically is that he didn't want to become "soft", I think.
My only question is how did the remnants of hope get Junkos Body Parts?? She was crushed to death, and they couldn't have talent them from Mukuro, cuz Mukuro got exploded
I think when she was exploded her hand was still there
Edit: yeah, her hand was still there
I’m pretty sure when she got crushed some of her body parts got out? Or maybe they got mukuros body instead?
The only ones from the remnants of Despair who stole bodyparts from Junko were Fuyuhiko,Mikan and Nagito, but I don´t really understand how they could steal them from a pancake Junko.

SDRA2 has brutal executions so that’s probably why it’s more we’ll known
You just can't imagine how glad i am to see u back
Let's face it, the Danganronpa creators are geniuses!
Thats interesting! Thanks for your theory.

Each Execution has a reference to the talents
What about Celeste's Execution? She's the Ultimate Gambler, but she was burned alive?
The grass is green, brothers!
@@coolestdoodever753 well... liar liar pants on fire... lying is part of gambling
fits non?
@@coolestdoodever753 Being burned the way she did was very fancy and old (fit her aesthetic) so she wasn't upset about it cause she still dies in a unique way- But then monokuma comes in with the fire truck and she dies in the most common way (car accident)
I feel like her execution was based more on her personality rather than talent tbh-
Mokoto/kirigiris?
Fun Fact of After-School Lesson - This represents kyoko showing her without her gloves , it was burnt and it shows how kyoko says it as an “after school lesson as a detective”
I always thought that Celestia's death being runover by a truck is a reference to the "Isekai Delivery Service" trope. At the last moments before her death, she says she want to be reincarnated-- so it registered to me that the truck also serves as a support to those words
I think Celeste's execution is my favorite out of Danganronpa 1
I was actually really sad when Leon died, he was one of the people there with a cool design
I believe the implication of Jin's execution is that the rocket overheats (you see it turning red) when he reenters the atmosphere and it burns him to death leaving only his skeleton
Always fun to hear how these executions are even more brutal then we thought, being made to bring the characters as much despair as possible, great video
Ayyyyyyyy kaede posted as I was watching her old video’s!!!!
Good luck explaining the final execution in Danganronpa V3
I feel the execution of Alter Ego could also apply to Sakura, since she is supposed to be the one who was executed. I feel it's a reference to fighting games, mostly Street Fighter, bonus levels. As, a lot of fighting games have bonus levels in which one punches a car or other vehicles into oblivion. Now, the fighter and the vehicle would switch places and Sakura would be killed in the same fashion.
me just now realizing that the execution at the start was the headmaster: OHHHHHHHHH I'm dumb
0:00 Intro
1:00 The 1,000 Blows
5:05 The Cage Of Death
8:50 The Burning Of The Versailles Witch
11:16 Excavator Destroyer
12:50 After School Lesson
14:20 The Ultimate Punishment
15:11 Blast Off
16:35 The Spears Of Gungir
10:02 “a silver-haired boy who was said to have the devil’s luck” NAGITO!?
6:39 I have a feeling that he was simply liquified and vacuumed up into the machine before being packaged up in that tub, obviously, he's not ACTUALLY a tub of butter but more like a tub full of blood and organs no doubt.
Wow I think that according to the first theory, Mondo’s execution is the most cruel and painful one in the whole series (I was super sad that my boi got executed but like THAT) and on top of that Monokuma made it look like funny and weird but it was actually a brutal and gruesome execution. Also I’ve read a comment on this video from Puni The Weeb that says that he speculated that Monokuma’s Mondo wig wasn’t just to make fun of him but also to make him despair more: Monokuma was supposed to represent Mondo and the actual Mondo represents Daiya so that he recreated the whole "Mondo killed his brother" thing and make him despair from the guilt. ;-;
leon's execution is by far my favorite out of dr1 and dr2 (i have yet to play dr3). it being the first execution and how...morbid and painful it mustve been really cemented how i expected the rest of the executions to be. it set a standard, and that standard is pretty high. a part of it is just the shock factor for seeing the first execution in the danganronpa series. there is pure terror in his face and a deep sense of dread in everyone else's face because no one has any idea what to expect. like yeah, they know it's an execution but finding out that monokuma really did mean that it's a "special" execution for [inset blackened here] really shakes you and everyone else. all other characters, including myself, most likely thought it would be like a hanging at the gallows or a beheading.
not only is the symbolism of leon being killed by a machine, the only thing that could rival his title as ultimate baseball pro, used for baseball practice upsetting, it's way it's done too. there's something special and morbid about being the first blackened and the first victim of the execution in the entire series. the terror and anticipation and excitement and horror of seeing leon dragged away from the chain? unmatched. completely unmatched. i don't want to add any more to this wall of text but i cannot praise the execution of leon's execution enough. so well done and completely revolted me, as well as excited me to see how other executions would play out.
I like to believe for Mondo’s Execution is that directly when the electricity of the cage went out it probably took Mondo’s corpse out from underneath the stage to cause confusion, so the butter was just a slap in the face for everyone
When she was talking about mondo’s execution I literally got an ad for butter-
When your actually eating Salsa and see the explanation for Butter Boi’s death: Wait. . .
Tell me what you think, I'm mostly sure for Makoto than Kyoko, but ok thank you and have a nice day.
those are some really good theories

I just LOVE the explanation of celeste’s execution, it was so clever and explained so much!

Awesome video explaining the executions from DR1, I've played through the game multiple times and understood some of them, but not all of them. Thank you! :)
10:09 oh god, I actually burst out laughing and woke up my roommate 👀
Hell yeah!
Poor Celeste
If I saw the truck coming if I could I would jump into the fire away from the truck, or at least try too
Personally I always thought it was the heat from re-entry that reduced Jin to a skeleton. Mainly because of the smoke, the bones looking a little burned and the ricket itself not seeming that well insulated, let alone pressurized.
I think that The World Ends With You would be really interesting to see analyzed
