- We had a couple minutes to spare and this elevator has a pretty cool motor so we decided, why not take it for a spin? Well that turned out badly as on the way up, the elevator stopped right after the third floor (or right when the indicator changed to 4) We were stuck for about 45 minutes, maybe more. The fire department ended up having to come. We tried some things before calling for help. I had my elevator keys so I opened up the fire service cabinet. I turned the stop switch to "stop" and back to "run" to see if it would reset the elevator or not. Nothing happened. We tried pulling the doors open, and the classic jumping in the elevator. Still nothing. It was after all that when I started filming. We had to resort to ringing the alarm because we were actually stuck. As we said in the video, we've been stuck before, but we've always managed to get out. Well, not this time! There were lots of people about so the fire department got called pretty quick. The elevator phone was having some issues (probably because it was the first time being used since being installed) This elevator was just modernized last year, and it's already acting up. I got most of this "ordeal" on video, but there were parts I had to cut out to make this video shorter (don't worry, they weren't exciting parts) I hope you enjoy the video! It's mostly common when they do very cheap modernization with generic brands. Thyssenkrupp does a lot better at modernizations.
This is one of the reasons why don't modernize elevators unless the building is being renovated or just wrong with the elevator itself.
You're wrong , elevator always need replacement but everything that used for elevator need replace everything even also door motor and machine
They need modernize or they not useful anymore because it's out of control

The fact that almost all elevators in California don't have key holes on the doors is interesting (assuming that's part of the California elevator code). I could imagine it being difficult for firefighters and technicians to access the shaft because of this.
I say almost because, I did see a Dover elevator in LA with a key hole.
Theodore Pfeffer yes newer elevators don't have drop key holes. However, old ones sometimes still do, but most of the time they're covered up in the back. There are special rods that firefighters use to get the doors open-these things are huge
I don't know what was worse, the heat in the elevator or the awkward Thank you when the team who helped didn't recognize it was them. Both nightmares!

Bru that modernization is so weird. Why does elevators break once I got stuck in that same elevator but it had 11 floors and it went up and down 14 times and someone predators open and then we got stuck, and then we got out of our ourselves and was broken

The Bunny Bella World Of Gaming in the elevator world, it's just the older elevators are built much better than newer elevators today, so they last longer. However, if older elevators aren't maintained, then that's a different story. The one you got stuck was probably not maintained well
(woah the creator responded holy crap) OR, in this case I got mad and smashed all the buttons so the computer got confused or something, stopped midway floors, door opened, and we were stuck.
I think the 50s-80s elevators sucked...it also depends on the mod job and the budget. That elevator doesn't look modded.

Where was this elevator located, and who were the other people on board? Anyway, while independent elevator companies have the illusion that they are similar to mom-and-pop establishments, generic elevators are definitely not as reliable as major brand companies.

A vast number of elevator enthusiasts have keys because they collect fixtures and it would make sense for them to have keys to the fixtures they own. Another reason is because sometimes building owners/management are nice enough to allow elevator enthusiasts to use their keys with permission to do special modes like independent service or fire service. Using keys unauthorized is frowned upon and may even be illegal depending on how the key was used, but if it's an emergency (which it was), I'd say that trumps the law.

What a nice newer KONE mod. Yeah... from what I've learned, inspection service actually resets an elevator. I got to watch a ThyssenKrupp tech repair a Mitsubishi hydro, and all he did was flip it in inspection and flip it out again. 10/10 Maintenance. #didyoutryturningitoffandonagain?
Believe it or not, they hydros break more than you'd think. The hydros aren't as nice as the tractions, which are AMAZING.

I got stuck in a elevator before and what I did i did the floor skip trick holding door close and the floor it was stuck on and it restarted the elevator and let me off on the floor it was stuck on
