- Elevators are freakin cool, but when they're not maintained, things could get ugly REAL fast. If you film elevators, you're bound to catch something cool, possibly frightening on camera. Now if you're like me and have been filming for 5 or more years, you definitely catch the weirdest and strangest things. This is another compilation dedicated to all you guys who just LOVE broken and messed up elevators (including me). I hope you enjoyed this video as much as I did making it. These clips are some of the scariest, strangest, lamest and most dangerous things I've ever experienced while the camera was rolling...

One thing I've learned with elevators is that if they're not working, pressing all the buttons doesn't help and usually makes things worse.

That last part was crazy at 8:33. He literally had to hold the door in order for the elevator to move! That's an epic fail. 😂

Pretty rare a for someone to die on a finished elevator. Worst thatll happen is itll stop running and you got wait for a mechanic to get there and fix it.

It's fair enough. When we say we had a bad day because an elevator wasn't working properly, elevators can say they had a bad day because some human didn't work properly, no patience for the door and pushing buttons.

Elevators are meant for multiple button pushes dawg. Pressing it multiple times does nothing to the elevator.

That thing is constantly breaking down but surprisingly, it hasn't broke down in the last three or four months. Although talking about it on here, I probably just jinxed it and it will go down soon.
The 1st series one was just like one National Elevator filmed, and the 2nd series one was trying to show you its dance moves; I didn’t think you would put in the Atlas with the bad door; My doctors office has a series 5 with the egg lanterns. They worked a long time ago, but then didn’t work for like 5 years. One day I walked in and they fixed it... after 5 years.

1:13 Same deal with the first elevator, jolt when reach destination, (though it took a few moments for the door to open)
1:18 Old elevator no longer working (jowevator's reaction when realizing :( )
1:50 Bumper not in sync with the outer/inner door
2:06 Elevator refuses to move (the elevator has an error, right after it closes its doors, the call will cancel out, and the elevator wont move at all.)
2:52 Elevator when realizing it reached destination, takes very long to release the inner door lock, and elevator too slow until its leveled.
3:06 Elevator shakes violently after reaching destination.
3:18 Bumper not working.
3:25 If you look carefully, predoor leveling, and elevator doors at inconsistent speed.

5:29 Broken chime (it lasted too long), and aggressive door movement.

Yeah but thats all relative from the type of elevetor, the mechanic that installed it, which company maintains it, how well that service mechanic maintains it, and what challenges were met on installation, how plumb the hoistways are...which are never square.

That is when the elevator is in *nudge mode* .
*Nudge mode turns on when* ...
The doors are blocked (because something is in the sensor/buffer and don't let them close) for about 30 sec (depends on the elevator)
*Nudge mode does* ...
Closing the door with a loud noise, and (depends on the elevator) a voice that says something like "please clear the doors"

You should fly into Boston, and check out Boston Logan International Airport’s elevators in Short Term Parking. They are some of the best. Super fast, they are painted and stuff, and silent. Almost brand new. They are also huge, and they play elevator music ;)

At the hotel I am staying at, we have an Otis 2000, and if someone clicks the down call button in the 5th floor the down arrow and the chime lights up on the lobby floor.
It’s a multifunction processor that can’t process anything
That’s because it’s probably a old or outdated processor that hasn’t been replaced
AND NOBODY CAME TO FLIPPIN REPLACE IT

There’s some sort of modded late 90’s Dover hydraulic elevator on my college campus which bounces up and down when leveling after going down. It’s fine going up.

I didnt get it on film, but I was on an elevator, tried pushing the button (F8), it lit up, the elevator chirped, then the button flew right off.
I tried another elevator, it moved down a few floors (I was on floor 12) and it just stopped in between floors.
BUT HEY. THE DOORS OPENED. In between floor 9 and 10.
The elevator is mad at you so it threw one of its buttons at you
