There's actually a Russian Dance taunt in the files (for all classes), and there are rumors going around that there may be a Heavy themed update coming soon. BUT, knowing Valve, it could be false.

To be fair, the Heavy is really fucking hard to animate. His ridiculous proportions do not lend themselves well to realistic animations.

UPDATE: While what I said is true, Valve could still give this game much more attention so it would last even longer. One of the things needed are Community Managers (that Valve lacks/doesn't have at all) and more innovation and attention that Valve used to offer to the game back then.

Valve is relying on the player base itself to keep the game alive with content.
And I say it is a great idea.
Team Fortress 2 is now around 8 years old. Even though gaming standards change, that is an old age for a game that came from 2007. The fact that it is being updated till now itself is a rarity. It is hard to keep adding content and improving a game for so many years. The devs will eventually have to move on. That is why they rely on the player base to provide the content. They are keeping it alive, while Valve decides what is to be added from the huge item pool to extend the game's life.
The plan is working. Team Fortress 2 may not be getting that attention it used to get 5 years ago or so, but it is still far from dead. Big updates became rarer, but they still very much exist, and as long as the player base keeps fueling this game, Valve won't drop its support of the game. This game can still survive for a veeeery long time.

TF2 is a very different game, in a sense that it is able to evolve constantly and never get old, thus making its age irrelevant (especially since the Cartoony Graphics means it will never look outdated, smart move by Valve). This game was made to last long from the beginning. Thus, if it stops evolving, it will start dying.
And the thing is, Valve is relying a lot nowadays on the Community to keep the game alive. The community not only releases minor content for them like Community updates and Models, but also tests their unfinished projects like gamemodes. What I'm trying to say is that while that keeps it alive for a while, it is Valve that ultimately evolves the game by adding THEIR content that truly changes the game. The Community can only hold it for that much. Valve is the one that decides how long it will actually live, as IT changes the concepts of the game, not the Community. If Valve stops putting new, unique things on the table, the game will eventually become too repetitive and the Community will start falling, ultimately having both Valve and Community not giving effort into the game anymore = Death of the game.
What I have described won't happen for quite some time from now (assuming this is how the game will continue). But this is how the game would die if left without the innovation Valve used to give it.
Actually, I'm pretty sure 8 years old is a typical age for a game that came from 2007
***** You don't get it. Gaming standards change. Imagine that you were told to play a game that came out 8 years ago, and you're in year 2007. That means you are to play a game from 1999. Those games would sound ancient compare to what you saw in 2007.
However, since gaming standards constantly change (they get higher each year as generations change, people age, and it becomes harder to produce innovative and original content), the difference between 2007 games and 2015 games are not nearly as big as the difference between 1999 games and 2007 games, despite both having a time gap of 8 years in between.
So yeah.

Imo they should just get the community to make their updats for them. Lange and B4nny should design the competetive matchmaking, Hi GPS should balance the weapons and so on.

We definitely do need more weapons and gamemodes, but can we just agree that these taunts are totally awesome? I saw the Boston breakdance earlier and I freakin loved it. I'm so glad it was added! The sniper ones are hilarious, too.

Someone needs to make a duet taunt with Sniper and Demo. It'd be one of them just holding their instrument, or Demo sitting at a piano that just appears, and the other member presses G to start the taunt.

It would be awesome that the creator of the "Killer Solo" made eight different taunts for each of the classes, each with different instruments, but they sound as a melody all together.

We got guns 3 months ago. TF2 has a ridiculously needy community when it comes to weapons.
Kingfury4 2 weapons exclusive to only one class and a really crappy shotgun, we waited a year for that. Don't make me go there again.

It takes time for Valve to balance weapons, they cannot just release them. We will probably get another big update this year, we just gotta wait.

New weapons need new animations and stats, those stats need extensive play-testing, it's not just a matter of adding some 3D-model to the game files. Secondly, the more weapon exist there harder it is to come up with something new. How many rocket launchers does Soldier need?
