And I thought Mordecai killing rigby for a girl he couldn't even talk to and ruining muscle man's wedding by making it all about himself and being a massive simp was bad
When you're young and everyone does crazy shit then you let it slide. When you grow up and think about it it becomes the start. Even death punchies shows that.
@@ripper_madness I agree, the killing part was in the heat of the moment, which is something most of us might experience, even Mordecai regret instantly when Rigby died but the marriage part? Mordecai was FULLY aware of the situation and still did it.
I honestly feel like the episode should have had Mordecai owning up to his responsibilities and confessed to Benson that Rigby had indeed been covering for him so he could spend time with CJ... only for Benson to scream at Mordecai for the enormously irresponsible action of putting all his work on his best friend so he could go hang out with his girlfriend during work hours. Benson would then give Rigby a sincere, rather heartfelt apology, which would have been something we would have never seen before, and then he'd tell Mordecai "Get back to work... and no breaks for the rest of the day, or you're fired. You've had enough time off." And Mordecai's response would be a meek and scared "... Okay."
This isn't the worst. This the 2nd worst. The worst was Rigby's graduation. Instead of being proud of his buddy like the others, he gets an attitude because it meant he can no longer look down on Rigby, he can no longer call himself superior. And he's also mad at everyone for celebrating his growth. And the fact that the school wanted him give a big speech. That's just petty and disgusting behavior. He couldn't stand that Rigby was no longer the loser he once was, and by this point Mordecai, the guy who tried to jack his friend's wedding hadn't matured one iota.
Everyone else he had come across was doing better than him so he decided to push Rigby around to raise his self esteem. What makes me angry is that the series never acknowledged how much of a loser Mordecai is.
The thing is however, Mordecai actually acknowledges how messed up that mindset was, he realizes just how awful of a person he was for essentially getting mad at, Rigby for getting his life together. Now it doesn't excuse what he did but at the very least acknowledges what he did was wrong and even apologized
It's okay for Characters to flaws if they rise above them. Rigby started out as a selfish scumbag and irresponsible child but he grew up into a mature adult. While Mordecai grew worse into a selfish, narcissistic simp.
@Kyrient As individuals, I'd say that Rigby is that guy who you don't wanna be close with, but after his "redemption arc," he became more of a pleasant person. Like Thorfinn from Vinland Saga. While Mordecai is the type of person that everyone likes when kids, but as you grow up, you realize that he is not that much of an example. Is like that friend you became annoying after hearing about that thing of "Alpha male" or whatever👍
@@Rodnem__ Awesome response🗿 I do have a question if you can answer, got any advice for school? cuz I'm going back to school this coming week but I'm pretty much clueless on my goals and what I should really do as a Juniors and checking out my new classes.
@@NateDoesYTfor the most part, you really want to have a high paying job where you can actually have some fun at the same time and be interactive. I recommend mechanical engineer its a great field, or materials engineering. I’d say look up videos about it and see if you like it, cause in the end you have to love what you do. If you have any hobbies or interests see if you can find any careers revolving around those and see how much it pays in the long run, I say this cause you want to be prepared for the future being payed well so you’re not struggling living paycheck by paycheck and having nothing for yourself or your family when bills are paid, it’s a horrible and stressful feeling. In the end though don’t stress out to much just work hard for what you want
@@A_Hylian_Not_An_ElfIt is very easy to judge a character as a simple viewer. Mordecai is a good person, he just made mistakes due to inexperience. You don't understand this because you don't put yourself in his place
Even though rigby was always a jerk I always thought mordecai was a lousy friend. Always insulting him, hitting him, and just generally being a bully to him. Until he sabotaged mordecai’s college acceptance letter. In which case they more or less deserve each other but rigby legitimately got better mordecai on the other hand…
@@cartoonpedalpump6904 I'm sorry I don't mean to dismiss your headcanon, but that's legit one of the funniest ways I have seen someone deny something in a back and forth about fictional people😭✋ 'Guys, this character legit killed someone in this movie and is showing no remorse! He's bad!' 'That argument fails for me because I headcanon them as not canon.'
It sucks Mordecai didnt develop much as a character because he does have moments where he is sincere and charming but his lack of development really held him back plus Rigbys change really exposed all of this
Really true. Mordecai has great episodes that show that he’s a really good dude but I just wish his character developed more so that the flaws that people don’t like about him were more formally addressed and built upon.
You can even make an argument that in this episode, Rigby was beginning to break his lazy habits and actually start becoming more proactive and productive with his work. And then nobody believed it, including mordecai, kinda rude.
@@Rodnem__ Rigby can be a jerk but Mordecai far more often does some truly atrocious things for incredibly petty reasons. One time successfully killing Rigby, other times nearly killing him, several times tormenting Rigby to the point it jumpstarts the plot by getting rigby to do something stupid to make him stop. I still remember the time Mordecai tricked him with that weird cult nearly getting them killed for some petty reason leading to Rigby admitting he was going to be traumatized by what happened to him. And the thing is that Rigby actually develops over time to become less of a jerk and overcome his laziness and better himself, Mordecai honestly just stays the same the entire time.
@lukeBryen2 I don't know, that still doesn't seem quite as dickish as killing your friend over a petty fight or the time he nearly got him killed by some weird cult he pretended to join to teach him some weird lesson. Mordecai has done quite a few incredibly horrible things for even more petty reasons. Both of them tend to aweful things, the reason people hate mordecai more is both because his reasons for his worst actions tend to be more petty in their self interest (Such as teaching rigby a lesson or just because he was insulted vs not wanting to lose a friend) and also because Mordecai likes to pretend he's better.
As a side note: The whole "school is useless" narrative mostly applies to certain college degrees, where having a degree can sometimes not be enough to get you in the door for your desired field, and now you've got all this student loan debt to pay off and no way to make enough money to do so in a reasonable time frame. It's spread a lot and into some areas where it's not always deserved, but I don't think many people are saying that about graduating high school.
I've always been a Rigby lover. Mordecai has always been a loser. Constantly bullying Rigby and punching him. Sure, Rigby was a punk too, but atleast Rigby bettered himself so he could succeed. Meanwhile Mordecai just got worse and cheated on CJ. The differences of character development is staggering.
The things Rigby improved on are things literally no one would fuck up in the first place, so I don't think he is better than Mordecai. That's like giving someone props for going from being a violent person to not being violent. That's basic decency. You don't give props for that. He's still a pathetic loser who literally tried to justify tricking Mordecai into thinking he had been rejected from College. The whole series literally wouldn't happen if Rigby wasn't so selfish. He rightfully gets bullied by his father. Being good with girls is not important. Neither is going back to school so you can graduate, something most people would literally do on their first try.
@@neon_biterigby annihilated any chance mordecai had by forging a college acceptance letter. Rigby is morally inept, lazy, selfish, as well as a punk. Mordecai is not worse than rigby
And before anyone says that its "karma" for the coñlege acceptance letter, no, Mordecai did it out of pure envy and spite that his friend does better in life than he is. Its seems that he only kept Rigby as a friend so he had someone to compare or at least tell himself that he is doing better than someone else.
I really hate Mordecai Edit: When Mordecai claims he never asked Rigby to do any of those things for him, that is a blatant lie. He asked Rigby for help multiple times throughout the show.
Those three instances, Mordecai doesn’t ask Rigby to help him. He didn’t ask to get signed up for Couple Corral, he initially didn’t believe the Time Machine would work, and Rigby tagged along with Mordecai to Margaret’s university without being asked
So interesting that these two ended up going on completely different arcs despite hardly being seen without each other. Rigby's positive character arc vs Mordo's negative character arc. And they both end up alright in the end, but I wish we got a chance to actually see Mordecai change for the better as well instead of "oh time passed so he's different now"
personally i think its okay to have a character never really change, because its realistic. some people are capable of change, and others are not, no matter how hard others try, some will always fall back into old habits. it sets a more realistic viewing of the characters as actual people not just story points.
@@sovietunion7643 And that, right there, is why the characters in Regular Show are so special and amazing. Because they're more than just cartoon characters, they're people that could exist in real life. For me personally, I mostly relate to Benson, mostly because we both have anger issues.
Honestly, I think the thing that truly sets Mordecai apart from Rigby is the fact they were both equally terrible, but Rigby started improving himself and just overall becoming a better person while Mordecai just stayed the same and even got worse. Mordecai, to me, was the friend you eventually outgrew. The one who you initially admired and thought the best of, but then slowly the rose tint began to fade and you changed while they didn't. You no longer looked up to them, you no longer wanted to be like them, you realised their way of life was actually something you came to dislike or even hate, and you realise that it isn't going to stop, that they are going to continue their life the way they want and you are going to keep growing apart.
The truth is that both Mordecai and Rigby are both heavily-flawed characters. Both often act petty, nasty, selfish, and dismissive towards the feelings of others. At the beginning of the show, Rigby was definitely the worse of the two, whereas Mordecai was usually the more responsible one. However, while Rigby learns from his mistakes and becomes a better person near the end of the series, Mordecai messes his own life up. He constantly misses opportunities due to this cowardice, he ruins any good things he gains out of a refusal to let go of the past (abandoning Rigby in the movie to destroy all of time, cheating on CJ with Margaret, etc.), and he never tries to better himself. I honestly think that it’s a really neat direction that the show took. While Rigby was the one deemed the lost cause because he was worse than Mordecai at the beginning, his willingness to take chances and try new things helped him to overcome that. Meanwhile, though Mordecai had far more potential, it languished because he kept being selfish and cowardly. Only after the show did Mordecai learn his lesson and earn his happiness.
I mean Mordecai honestly shows quite a lot of narcissistic tendencies and lack of self awareness and arrogance where confidence would have been better. He may be the degree holder but he still looks like a bum who expects to slide with awkward slang and trying to keep everything the same. He's an airheaded virgin who gets offended and will even deflect when called out for his flaws and faults . Rather than change and grow he simply wants to be a teen forever but Margaret wanted other things and chose not to wait for him, which good for her. One day everyone will move on to live their lives and he's going to be left behind realize he never appreciated the time he had.
I hated Mordecai so much in that episode. He blew off work to hang out with her, he was a constant jerk to Rigby, he called him lazy but let him do all his work, he constantly berated him and made him feel small, and then he just watched him work that awful back lift job.
It isnt as much as school is useless as it isn't worth it anymore- (in america) with how much youre put into debt and all the entry level jobs that require 4+ years for 18$ an hour or less. Its devastating and quite frankly frustrating so I understand it being simplified to, "school is useless"
You could just watch the actual episode in the time it takes this video to essentially narrate the events and provide minimal obvious notes. Lowest effort video essay ever
That episode made me realise how much of a massive loser that guy is. I bet if he jinxed someone like skips or basically anyone that's even the same height as him, he wouldn't even have the guts to punch them. He is the kind of person that needs someone smaller than him to boost his self esteem because there's nothing else he has going on for him
To be fair, Rigby did ruin Mordecai's chances of going to college in the future, and Rigby‘s incompetence and laziness is the reason why they’re both stuck in a dead end job Also you forgot to point something out aside from ungratefulness you forgot to point out Mordechai's abusiveness towards Rigby plus Rigby can’t defend himself because he's weak against Mordechai plus there’s a times where he becomes a real jerk when Rigby graduates instead of giving him encouragement, he becomes jealous and angry, at Rigby. I’m surprised they stayed friends even after everything they’ve been through from youth to their adulthood, it comes to say Mordecai doesn’t deserve to have Rigby as a friend despite Rigby, making a big mistake when they were in high school, Mordecai on the other hand doesn’t really care about Rigby I’m thinking at the back of my mind as he even kills Rigby twice when they both travel through father Times dimension or when he discovers the truth despite regrets but honestly i think Rigby should've tried to better himself in the very beginning of his life and listened to his parent advice do he he can have a better life and more successful one at that instead of clinging to Mordecai like a crutch cause IN THe END MOREDECI NEVER CARED ABOUT RIGBY ALL HE WANTED WAS A PUNCHING BAG to push around beside like you said he never respected Rigby.
I didn't forget about these thing, in fact, I still want to make videos about them. I'm happy you reminded all of that because it shows that you like you like the show the same way I do👌

3:24 because I've worked with a lot AND I MEAN A LOT of people who lost their job and had a degree OR never got hired even though they have a degree. Some job fields want you to have experience before entering the market (like coding jobs) and will literally hire the cheaper option who doesn't have a degree if he seems just as capable as the other guy who has a degree but requires more money in order to pay off his debts and still live. I've literally avoided hiring artist who went to school for art over the artist who had the better art and never went to school not just because the non-school guy was cheaper but overall the art was better. A degree doesn't automatically = a job I work a wagie job and sure enough the people I worked with who had a degree are back to a wagie job or aren't working that kind of job the degree requires because well they got laid off and can't find work. I know ONE GUY who has a degree and HAS A JOB because HE IS PASSIONATE about what he got a degree in!
I know having a degree does not mean having a job. That's true, but you can't tell me that you are most likely to find a job not having a degree than having one. Those people who lost their jobs lost them to other people with degrees. Those who can't find one is because their position was already taken by somebody with a degree, and that's a whole different problem. Having a degree and passion is not enough, but you can increase your chances just by being a better student. I like programming and IT, but I suck at maths and physics. Why would I submit myself into the headache of dealing with the lack of opportunities and whatever, when I could just go for another area 🤷♂️
Well, to be technical, the stuff Rigby helped cover Mordecai with was already half done by the time CJ came along. Despite Rigby saying he could change the lightbulbs by himself, he has a track record of not even doing the simplest of tasks. The biggest reason Rigby began to change is when he began dating Eileen. Between the two before then, Mordecai was the most responsible one, such as Benson always double check if Rigby gets it or not: "Does that one gets it?! Because sometimes, I wonder!"
I love how Rigby was the annoying and all about himself to the point he made a fake letter that Mordecai got rejected from college, but then later on the show Rigby becomes more mature and respected individual but Mordecai degress as a character.
@@Rodnem__ well of course not. You're delusional. Go ahead and spend 100k on your gender studies degree. Meanwhile I stick to my trade that cost me nothing to start and already has me at over 50k annual income at 22

@@Rodnem__ First of all, it was an accident. Secondly, Rigby pushed Mordecai first. Thirdly, Rigby himself provoked Mordecai. Instead of supporting him, he decided to mock Mordecai, taking Margaret away from him
@@hob_channel i get your argument but rigby's death in that episode wasn't really an accident. It was more of a crime of passion. Mordecai even shouted "I'LL KILL YOU" And looking back on the episode, yes rigby is being a bit of a jerk, but there are a few things to keep in mind. At this point, margret hardly really even gives mordecai the time of day, his reasons for liking margret can be argued to be pretty superficial for the amount of ways he tries for her. The biggest thing though, is that Margaret is not mordecai's girlfriend. That doesn't make what rigby did good, but still it does change things a bit. And all of that, all of it was no excuse to literally kill him. Hell, even the college tuition stuff considered here, mordecai is wrong for killing rigby and it wasn't deserved.
@@worthyedge9307 Yes, Rigby's death was undeserved, but Mordecai really didn't want to kill him. His cry of "I'll kill you" was a simple threat that he had no intention of following through on because he was horrified when Rigby actually died. @@Rodnem__ Rigby kept taunting him over and over and over again until he eventually pushed him over the edge. And if you wanna bring up season 1 shit, Rigby literally tried to kill Mordecai just to be Player 1 in a video game
Too be honest mordecai is around the same level on rigby when hes not all about girls the only good episodes with mordecai was the ones when he wasnt talking about margerat and CJ
That mini-rant you went on about why "school is useless" is such a stupid thing was great Education is huge, and extremely important. The only people I've met who think a trade is more important or useful than education are always blue-collar workers who seem to hate their lives.
lack of education is the reason things are like they are. it doesnt come only from schools though, but saying they are useless just screams "i was bullied in highschool" Lol
I will concede that Mordecai wasn't a great person all the time, but I will not concede that he was worse than Rigby as a whole. Just because Rigby got better as time and Mordecai got worse, doesn't change the fact that at least 20% of all problems in Regular Show stem from something Rigby said or did. I still love him, but lets keep it a buck.
You shouldn't be giving Rigby props for improving on things literally no one else would be that bad at in the first place. There's no defending him forging Mordecai's rejection letter
@@ChileanRexand you shouldn't be degrading someone else's accomplishments just because you don't think they're worthwhile. You are literally acting like Mordecai in the episode where Rigby graduates. Last I checked Rigby is not stopping Mordecai from reapplying to college

You shouldn't be giving Rigby props for improving on things literally no one else would be that bad at in the first place. There's no defending him forging Mordecai's rejection letter
@@ChileanRex Well yes that was a terrible thing of him to do and I'll admit it. Both are perfect for each other as they've both done some bad shit to each other, like Mordecai killing Rigby and the whole rejection letter. Plus I ain't defending Rigby for that, I'm just acknowledging that he's had character development over seasons. I'm giving him props for not being incredibly immature like S1-4 Rigby was from my memory, not for getting a diploma or finishing high school. Both of which he should have done a long time ago. Then this highlights how Mordecai can be an ungrateful bastard, as he constantly has Rigby do jobs HE should be doing with him alone and then discredits what Rigby did. Sure the guy often messes things up (I.e getting the both of them stuck in a freezer) but he's still willing to help his friends just because.
Ok so as bad as mordecai is what we're not gonna do act as if rigby became a better person through his own self reflection. Eileen was the whole reason rigby changed but people are giving her no credit for it at all. Rigby has done A LOT of horrible things. In one of rhe earliest episodes he enslaves the park with the death punch and he actually TRIED to kill mordecai. Funny how that never gets mentioned or the time he almost got the park killed due to hot dogs or runing Mordecai's college chances and so forth. Rigby is not any better than mordecai
Rigby had plenty of flaws but Mordecai was not perfect either, as discussed here, Mordecai asked Rigby to cover for him while he would go off to hang with CJ. Then joining in on the others how they didn’t believe Rigby could handle a task by himself which led Rigby to leave the park and got a new job, which Mordecai didn’t congratulate Rigby on finding somewhere else to work. Had Benson been there he would’ve seen Rigby could handle such tasks without help from Mordecai and congratulated Rigby on his success in his new job, maybe even asking him to come back to work at the park.
To be honest it makes sense. Rigby only continues to do the shit he does because he was an insecure loser and Mordecai and the other park members didn't exactly do anything to remedy that. Eileen is one of the very few people who treats Rigby like a person. Makes sense that he'd try to be better for the one person who seems to care about him.
@@mysteriousarcanum2769and you know something I seriously think that Eileen is one of the only two people that would've helped Rigby in that Jinx episode and the other one being Don.
6:00 would the Daddy Issues episode not count? iirc Mordecai was very supportive towards CJ in whatever CJ decided on, whether it was refusing to compete in the mini golf tournament or helping her win.
Lift with your back was terrible because rigby actually helped and he was given nothing for it. Mordecai killed his friend. The main problem was that he did it for a girl. But yeah rigby was a complete pain every single time for a long time. Unlike mordecai, he got better. Still doesn't excuse his work with the letter.
Like Rigby, is that guy? We would beat up every day, but we would still be friends. Mordecai is the guy we would never be friends with after They showed how ungrateful they are to have friends
I completely forgot about the start of this episode, like completely blanked out on it, i remember other incredibly shitty things he's done, but man, i think i just suppressed this part. He had no right to laugh at Rigby along with everyone. After everything Rigby did for him.
Man I hated Mordecai from dang near the beginning Like what are Rigby's faults almost entirely they are things that: there is an aptitude with which he is disinclined. Yeah he does have things that really are being a bad person his fabrications often go beyond telling stories to unambiguously lying and he has really poor emotional regulation skills but that's it everything else is a skillset situation. When Mordecai was the gilded god and Rogby it was always Mordecai having a knack for it then being sorta hostile to Rigby while the narrative of the episode was implying "Rigby sure does deserve this maltreatment amirite?" It was a minor irritation on that saga of the show.
If you pay more attention to the series, you realize that Mordecai is the definition of a jerk. Rigby has shown several times that he doesn't care about what other people think or about their emotions, but at least from the day he saw the Eileen plan, things changed. I'm not saying that Rigby isn't a jerk, but I don't understand why the narrative makes us we believe that Mordecai is the one we shout try to be, and Rigby is the one we should avoid to be.
@@Rodnem__ Wrong. You must have watched a different Regular Show. While many can agree that Rigby's positive changes in the series were a beautiful metaphor of people changing for the better at their lowest more people believe the inconsistent change in attitude and demeanor for Mordecai was due to something going horribly wrong in the writing room. It has always seemed that the writing staff needed the "bad friend" guy but when they tried to improve Rigby they suddenly remembered the ABSOLUTELY HEINOUS stuff he pulled earlier in the series and then had to sabotage Mordecai's development so that the audience would forget about Rigby's past actions. This is evident with how odd Mordecai acts when the writers need to make a big show of how great Rigby is becoming. They could have kept the positive progression for both characters consistent and steady but they didn't because they needed a character foil/contrast to get Rigby's head on straight. If you want to truly appreciate the good of Rigby and the bad of Mordecai you're going to have to acknowledge the bad of Rigby and the good of Mordecai. Otherwise, you are doing the characters and yourself a disservice.
Honestly I've always liked Rigby more because of intent and circumstances. To me, I never minded that much when Rigby was an asshole because it felt like he genuinely didn't know better. Like the dude has a shit family and a lot of personal issues, it's really not a surprise that he acts the way he does when the dude's self-esteem is in the basement and Mordecai was probably the only person in his life for the longest time who actually made him feel important. Also it's a reoccurring thing that everyone in the park talks down to Rigby, like I'd be pissed off too. As for Mordecai, the thing that bugs me about him is that even though he's not better than Rigby, he always likes to act like he is. To Mordecai he's the more responsible one, he's the better worker, he's stronger, ect. Things like the college letter, I always feel like Rigby never did any of those things out of genuine malice, but because he failed to consider the long-term consequences of his actions. What we see as a life ruining decision, Rigby saw as something to keep his best friend by his side. I think that at the time, it didn't register to Rigby that this was that awful of a thing. Meanwhile with Mordecai, I always got the sense with his actions that he knows that what he's doing is fucked up, but he does it anyway. Like when he killed Righy during that one episode.
Mordecai is bad but most of the issues are cause by Rigby. Mordecai solves, or gets someone to solve it like skips, you only focus on one episode. Eillen is the best for Rigby he only grows because of her. Let's not forget the only reason Mordecai is at the park is because Rigby didn't want to seperate from him and in doing so hid his application to art school or college.
To be fair Rigby was a jerk in the earlier season and treated him bad to like the soild episode for example and didn't take his job seriously and sure mordecai was a jerk to but they were jerks to each and they make up like in the movie where he sabotage mordecai letter so he doesn't go to college but he forgave him like Rigby forgave him to I think its natural they do this to each other but they have a strong friendship they forgive each other which is good
I'd like to add some insight on the school situation. School, no, education is important, no doubt about it. What we're mad about is that the system, at least in America, is objectively outdated and broken. -It favors students who can study well, meaning people who learn differently will inevitably fall behind -Stress and workload (Do I really need to explain this one?) -We aren't encouraged to be creative and to think, we are encouraged to obey -Our school system was made back in the 1800s, where kids were working in factories. Our world has changed a lot since then. -Tuition and college debts (self-explanatory) We don't hate the idea of education. We hate the system. That's why channels like Oversimplified and Mark Rober and Vsauce are praised because they manage to make learning fun and they can be endlessly replayed to your liking. P.S. This is all coming from a A+ Asian student living in America.
I used to like Mordecai but the moment he started shitting on Rigby for literally no reason was when I hated him. Mordecai was always kind of an ass to Rigby but not to this degree. I feel like Mordecai got worse and worse as the show went on while Rigby only kept getting better and better. I always liked Rigby more than Mordecai and when Mordecai started to "expire", I only ended up liking Rigby more and more. Mordecai's relationship with Rigby just became really toxic but Rigby, for some unknown reason, stuck by with the narcissistic bird.
Yeah school is basically the key to life you can try a different route and become a locpick, but only few people have the ability to use that skill so the safest bet are the keys.
I think the only reason people say education is a waste of time because networking is also a major contributor to why there are successful people who are wealthy and also why they’re able to do so many things they do because they know people because they socialize, however, an education does lead you to many unknow bridges many doors un traveled This kind of debates still goes on even in the modern era but education is a very helpful aspect if you want white collar jobs you know. internships also give you real world experience.
I mean Mordecai literally murdered Rigby in one episode .. Like no hesitation. Mordecai is not a friend and definately not a "best friend" he's a toxic pile of trash
Honestly as much as mordecai was wrong for this, rigby is literally the reason he is stuck in a dead end job, rigby was so selfish he forged a letter and lied about it for years just to keep his friend on his level.
I think school IS useful, but only when the educators are willing to provide a good education, teachers who just slop out curriculum aren’t good teachers
i think how its cool that over the series Rigby starts out as a terrible friend to Mordecai, but by through being with Eileen and his willingness to change he becomes a more respectable person than Mordecai. Rigby outgrows Mordecai in a sense.
I always hated Mordecai growing up. He acted so much better than Rigby when he's just as much of a slacker. Big deal he graduated high-school. That's like your first real mission in life.
Damn mordecai he is so me when you text girls on social media and trying to get a girl and losing hopes and his romantic dreams the season where modercai became the worst main character who is a simp but still love the franchise and their last episode satisfied me a lot. Always loved rigby as a little annoying friend with simple mind and not caring about nothing but a good friend too and also it ruined me when Rigby started to care about to finish highschool which doesn't matter you can have a job without graduation some people want to leave how they want cause a diploma can't afford anything except if you want to find a normal job and study it. Being ground keeper without finishing school wasn't that a big deal but some people want live on their own way
I always saw it as mordecai was always bailing out rigby and eventually used him as an excuse to hold himself back as a ‘it could be worse. at least I’m doing better than rigby’ So, when rigby finally started to get his act together and improve himself, mordecai was at first in denial, then he began to realize how little he had actually improved as rigby caught up to him, then grew jealous as rigby got his highschool diploma while holding a stable relationship with zero drama. Mordecai grew comfortable with where he was because he knew he was doing better than rigby, but he couldn’t use him as an excuse to stay idle anymore. That’s why its so neat that this inspires rigby’s speech about using his growth to encourage that others can do better as well.
Mordecai sucks and nobody's taking that out of my head. I always think about that time Muscle Man asked him to make a speech at his wedding and he ended up talking only about himself and his ex
This is a very good video!! But in the future, I think it would be better to actually record the audio instead of using TTS. It feels more hand crafted and genuine that way.
Despite being rigby being insufferable in the beginning, mordecai has always been the worst. Narcissistic bully who always puts himself first. During the show while Rigby has gotten better, mordecai gotten worse
The coolest thing about Regular show was seeing the characters mature and change as time progressed. Eileen changed Rigby so much for the better. Meanwhile, Margaret brought out the worst in Mordecai

@@ripper_madness I agree, the killing part was in the heat of the moment, which is something most of us might experience, even Mordecai regret instantly when Rigby died but the marriage part? Mordecai was FULLY aware of the situation and still did it.

That was powerful.
You've had enough time off."
And Mordecai's response would be a meek and scared "...

For real
Everyone else he had come across was doing better than him so he decided to push Rigby around to raise his self esteem.

Rigby truly deserves better . He does anything for his friends and yet he is mistreated , Eileen is queen .
We can't just forget that he was a Jerk some times
@@Tomerocheno Rigby still a worse friend overall, but he definitely became a better friend in later seasons
Didn't Rigby take away Mordecai's chance to go to the university and trick him into staying by his side just because he wasn't accepted?
@@sovietunion7643 actually solid counterpoint, nice 👌
I think that was a way for the creators to give us a message

I've literally avoided hiring artist who went to school for art over the artist who had the better art and never went to school not just because the non-school guy was cheaper but overall the art was better.

Like what are Rigby's faults almost entirely they are things that: there is an aptitude with which he is disinclined.
@@Rodnem__they’re both jerks! Get over yourselves guys! Rugby is my favorite character as well as Benson but I still love Mordecai
@@bradleychan5684 And you are so wrong
Yea they was hoein rigby I always wanted rig to get stronger and sock one of em our except pops and high five fr
The only thing mordecai has over rigby is that rigby was a terrible older brother.
-It favors students who can study well, meaning people who learn differently will inevitably fall behind
-Stress and workload (Do I really need to explain this one?)
-We aren't encouraged to be creative and to think, we are encouraged to obey
-Our school system was made back in the 1800s, where kids were working in factories. Our world has changed a lot since then.
-Tuition and college debts (self-explanatory)
We don't hate the idea of education.
Same
Rigby may be careless and a jerk sometimes but Mordecai killing rigby over a girl is unforgivable.
Ai speech over a video just makes youtube so uninspired
😔
@Rodnem__ I still enjoyed the vid should have said that
I used to prefer Mordecai over Rigby but now? Rigby is the better character
Gosh Ngl they both terrible but they learn to be better
Fr
Yeah school is basically the key to life you can try a different route and become a locpick, but only few people have the ability to use that skill so the safest bet are the keys.
I think the only reason people say education is a waste of time because networking is also a major contributor to why there are successful people who are wealthy and also why they’re able to do so many things they do because they know people because they socialize, however, an education does lead you to many unknow bridges many doors un traveled This kind of debates still goes on even in the modern era but education is a very helpful aspect if you want white collar jobs you know. internships also give you real world experience.
That's true, and when people have that reality shock that things are not that simple, it's too late
Y’all telling me they’re life long best friends but Mordecai still doing Rigby like this?
But Rigby isn't the best guy around
I think school IS useful, but only when the educators are willing to provide a good education, teachers who just slop out curriculum aren’t good teachers
Mordecai is worse than Rigby and always has been.
i think how its cool that over the series Rigby starts out as a terrible friend to Mordecai, but by through being with Eileen and his willingness to change he becomes a more respectable person than Mordecai. Rigby outgrows Mordecai in a sense.
I always hated Mordecai growing up.
He acted so much better than Rigby when he's just as much of a slacker.
Big deal he graduated high-school. That's like your first real mission in life.
AKA the episode Rigby shows Mordecai how to stack paper and calls him out on getting zero bitches without him, while rizzing Eileen.
😂😂
Damn mordecai he is so me when you text girls on social media and trying to get a girl and losing hopes and his romantic dreams the season where modercai became the worst main character who is a simp but still love the franchise and their last episode satisfied me a lot. Always loved rigby as a little annoying friend with simple mind and not caring about nothing but a good friend too and also it ruined me when Rigby started to care about to finish highschool which doesn't matter you can have a job without graduation some people want to leave how they want cause a diploma can't afford anything except if you want to find a normal job and study it. Being ground keeper without finishing school wasn't that a big deal but some people want live on their own way
I always saw it as mordecai was always bailing out rigby and eventually used him as an excuse to hold himself back as a ‘it could be worse. at least I’m doing better than rigby’
So, when rigby finally started to get his act together and improve himself, mordecai was at first in denial, then he began to realize how little he had actually improved as rigby caught up to him, then grew jealous as rigby got his highschool diploma while holding a stable relationship with zero drama.
Mordecai grew comfortable with where he was because he knew he was doing better than rigby, but he couldn’t use him as an excuse to stay idle anymore.
That’s why its so neat that this inspires rigby’s speech about using his growth to encourage that others can do better as well.
the ai voice is so jarring and impersonal that I didn't even make it a minute into the video. disappointing
😔
Mordecai sucks and nobody's taking that out of my head. I always think about that time Muscle Man asked him to make a speech at his wedding and he ended up talking only about himself and his ex
He a jerk fr
This is a very good video!! But in the future, I think it would be better to actually record the audio instead of using TTS. It feels more hand crafted and genuine that way.
I like your channel and this video.
Glad you enjoy it!
im pretty sure rigby overwhelming caused most incidents that have to be cleaned up
Despite being rigby being insufferable in the beginning, mordecai has always been the worst. Narcissistic bully who always puts himself first. During the show while Rigby has gotten better, mordecai gotten worse
Rigbys character development is amazing
Real
The coolest thing about Regular show was seeing the characters mature and change as time progressed. Eileen changed Rigby so much for the better. Meanwhile, Margaret brought out the worst in Mordecai
Mordecai look smart and cool at the 1st glance but the truth is he's a total shitbag. He look like he's a faithful friend but how many peoples suffered because of him ? Rigby and CJ for example.
Even if my best friend did something i didn't ask i'll give him my deeply thanks cuz friends can be real pillars when you're in rock bottom
👌
I always thought something about Mordedai was off. I didn't know why but he just became more unlikable through the episodes I watched. Rigby is clearly the better friend here.
Is not that easy
great video this was one I watched alott as a young one
4:04 you're talking about PASSIONATE people, people who care about their craft; again not everyone who gets a degree is passionate about what they're getting into. One coworker of mine only wants to get a degree in science for money and making the big bucks. He isn't having success, people who are passionate about their craft are what you need to hire.
🙂↕️
They open doors in cartoons, because thats where it happened. You saw how many jobs were available with just a diploma on the show.
