I am watching this video since im teaching myself of how to play dizi, i cant get enough videos on that because everythings in chinese. But thank you, i think since dizi and bansuri are both made of bamboo, i think this should work.
i've searched high and low for a quality video! I'm struggling so badly to get a consistent sound. I'm going to start again following your guide until i can get a sound from each hole.

Nikhil soni you can buy Pt. Rupak Kulkarni's cd of playing bansuri which has all the basics of playing bansuri...you can learn from that cd very informational.

hey gr8 video. I just bough a flute from a guy in bus today. It's just a cheap one for like rs20. It's played sideways and it has six holes all of them placed an inch apart. Could you make a lesson on playin the scale on it? i'd really appreciate it.

I have also "A" & "B". But I don't play them.
I am just practicing breath in exercise and how to hold , the position of bansuri.

This is a great lesson, but i have a question, i finnaly can make a sound every time that i put the bansuri in my mouth without that steps, but every time that i blow, i hear the sound of wind blowing, like if i was blowing in a piece of paper(not that whistle sound, just wind hiting a paper) and i don't know exactly if this sound is supposed to be there and if he is that loud. thank you! continue with theses bansuri lessons, they are great, greeting from brazil

Hello Sir...First of all thanks so much for your tutorials. I was yearning to learn flute but could not get any useful help. Though there are few videos on learning bansuri on youtube but let me admit that yours was the one that gave me a headway in learning bansur. I was able to produce sound and open and close the holes as guided by you in your 2nd video. Now, I am stuck with your 3rd video. I am not able to produce natural scales, I mean long and slow sa, ra, ga and so on. Plz provide help
