    I have the DC 550 Pro and am very happy with it. If I ever feel the need to upgrade, I know where I'm heading. A great review Shane.

      Have you had any issues with the 550 Pro? Trying to decide between that and the X2. Thanks!

      No worries at all. I love it. As time goes by there will be improvements and probably cheaper. That having being said, I expect many happy years of use.

    i have the DC 550. My first field monitor. used it for a couple of weddings. Nice to have for old eyes and nice to have when shooting from my waist.

      @@watzmaaname I really like it. Only thing I had to do is get a trigger for my camera for my flashes. I've used it for now about a dozen weddings and really like it portrait shoots and just oddball stuff. It's really too big of a setup to take and do a city walk or street photography you kind of stand out with it.

    Thanks for the review. A few more questions that weren't covered. Does it have anamorphic desqueeze and if so, what are the options EG 1.66x, 1.5x etc.? Is the monitor calibratable using a probe? What is the start up time of the monitor before the camera's image appears? Thanks for your help.

    Thank you for the great video. Really specific question: if you apple a LUT in the monitor, does it apply to the output? In other words, if I’m shooting LOG, applying a LUT to the footage on this monitor and outputting to a client/director monitor, will the LUT be applied for the client/director feed?

    I'm having problems with my monitor. I have the dx3 version, everything works normally, the problem is that I can't turn it off. That's right! I have to remove the battery or the power supply to turn it off. It's the second viltrox monitor I buy that has problems

    Is F-Log 2 within the 3D lut setting for Fuji? The DC550 only supports standard F-Log. Will buy this if it has F-Log 2

    • @GeekyNerdyTechy
      @GeekyNerdyTechy  Місяць тому

      I show them all on screen starting in the menu guide 6:39 onwards. You can load your own in there as well using the USB port but I haven't tried it.

      @@GeekyNerdyTechythat’s actually the point of the video I’m referencing. You show the manufacturers, but I’m wondering what’s beyond that. I.e., if you were to tap on one of those, in this case, Fuji, would it show that Flog 2 is available? Or on the bottom where it shows CanonLog3… if you swipe over, is there FujiLog2?

      The output of the HDMI will most likely default back to 4K like my LUMIX one does. Check to see if your HDMI settings has an "Automatic" option or just set the output to 4k and you'll be good.

    Any lag?

    • @GeekyNerdyTechy
      @GeekyNerdyTechy  Місяць тому +1

      HDMI lag varies from camera to camera but it was right in line with basically all of the other monitors I have reviewed. Some cameras like the GH6/FX3 have really low latency, but I didn't notice any issues with it.

    Buyer Beware: I purchase the X2 version (directly from them) and it came yesterday. Gave it a go and I guess I got a faulty one because this is a piece of crap:
    a) gets real hot real fast (under 5 minutes)
    b) Had the fan set to AUTO and is turns on fast, runs constantly, and IS quite noisy
    c) no instruction on how to load a VLT LUT for monitoring
    d) the touch scene goes wonky after a bit and doesn't work at all (have to pull the battery)
    Giant fail product.

    • @GeekyNerdyTechy
      @GeekyNerdyTechy  19 днів тому

      Ah that sucks. It sounds like something is wrong. I ran mine for hours with no problems at all. See if you can return it. The fan noise is a non issue unless you've got it set to auto and it's in a really hot environment - where it ramps up.
