Picked up a pair of treaded pokeboos, it’s a very nice black color with a green collar, there’s about a 1mm-2mm height difference in the heel but still feels flat and comfortable, I was worried about the non treaded versions wearing out too quickly on asphalt. The bag used to pack the treaded version is different and I prefer it, however there’s zero information on the correct way to pack them, think I figured it out though. The treaded bag has a second button to accommodate bigger footwear storage when the rain boots are in use. It’s a superb design. I’m a size 10US Men and the 3L size fits absolutely perfect and very comfortable with plenty toe wiggle room up to 95% full splay (personally) without the insoles (I have a straight big toe but my pinkie toe is slightly deformed inwards, not enough for toes touching though) and I love the fit even if it’s not a barefoot sized toe box.
Thank you for your comment and all the super helpful info! You've actually made me consider buying a pair of the treaded ones haha! As an exclusive barefoot shoe-wearer I obviously don't want to go "backwards" in my journey, having spent so much time (& money) transitioning away from conventional shoes, so I was worried about buying a pair of boots that suddenly had a heel (even if small)... but having worn these for the first time today, I do see how you'd be worried about such a thin tread wearing out on manmade surfaces, so I am now seriously considering a pair of the treaded ones too, so I can use one or the other pair for different terrains. I don't think I have deformed toes in the grand scheme of things, but like yourself my pinkies do go inwards a little so I feel I've "caught them" earlier enough in life. Thanks again for your comment!
What is your opinion of these after 8 months or so? Have they survived? Stood the test of time? Still waterproof? I live in one of the most rainiest cities in Norway, and I am sooo tired of heavy rubber boots! 😅
