This was a dish my mom use to make for me as a child. She would never teach me how to make it. Thank you for your video!!! Now I can cook and eat one of my favorite childhood comfort foods!!

It's because of YOU that I've tried this dish. Thank you for introducing me to a wonderful dish. And I am really glad you're still watching my vids and were the one of the first to comment on this video :) I will put a link in the description for that "Shrimp paste in bean sauce" that you are talking about. As I mentioned in the vid, you can use that if your prawns don't have much "roe"

I am still drooling over this dish and am still in awe of the size of those prawns. Helen, I saw something that I would love for you to make. It's called Banh Khoai Lang Tim and is absolutely GEORGEOUS. I have never seen it before and fell in love with the beautiful colors of this banh. It uses purple potato and has a bit of mung bean running through it and is a marvel to behold. It was on Vui Song Moi Ngay's channel, but I was hoping you have a recipe and can do it in English. Thanks!

Oh! I miss those giant fresh water prawns. It's very hard to come across them in NZ. If I managed to find some, they're very very very expensive. I hardly ever buy them. Well, I'm going to make this with normal size prawns & a jar of roe. Thanks for another great recipe! :)

Annatto powder is not spicy. We use it just to get the nice color for the food. Most paprika powder is mild, too. Some might have some heat. Just read on the package.
