very nice car, its like a ferrari and lamborghini mixed and hidden in one car, its sporty and sort of hides the power and unleashes it whenever you wish, this car is really something else, love it.

I've never tried a car with paddle shifters, but I can honestly say that any high performance car is best driven with a full manual transmission. I'm glad that Aston Martin offers the DBS with this option. It seems like the manual transmission is being phased out.
You don't buy a car like this for speed, you buy it because it will put a smile on your face day in, day out. It's not a compromise for something else, because chances are that if you can afford to pay £160k+ on a car, a Lamborghini or Ferrari are within reach too. It's an object of desire, a car you will truly cherish. I doubt many people will buy a new DBS will worry about depreciation or anything like that because it's definitely something you want to keep around.
Sartanko, it is not clearly visible in this video, but the door handle pivots. You press the side of the doorhandle closest to the front fender and the rear will pivot out, and then you pull the rear to unlock the door. The handle will then jump back into the flush position under spring pressure.
They may not be as fast as the others, but Aston Martins are the most elegant, classy and chic cars in the world! They aren't for show-offs, yet they are still extremely impressive.

i love that red, i dont know if its just me but just looking at one of these just makes me forget about everything else, something i dont exactly feel with other cars like porche or ferrari, dont get me wrong they make excellent cars, but i would give anything for a dbs like this one, i dont care if its not as fast as a lambo or ferrari or whatever, but this would be my ideal choice
I know this car is just over ten years old but it is so much nicer-looking than the newer ones with the ridiculous curves and curlicues that are the current, rather unfortunate rage in design.
Lamborghini is owned by Audi, which is owned by VW and VW also owns Bentley. Porsche currently owns about 42% of VW's common shares and another 35% in stock options. Aston Martin is currently owned by a joint venture of two investment firms based in Kuwait as well as an English businessman and Ford still retains a small stake in Aston Martin.
@gamarovitch I know what you mean; Aston Martins have this feel about them that I just love, and it doesn't matter if Aston is not as fast as Lambo or Ferrari.
For the same reason as gamarovitch, Astons are elegant in a way that Ferrari's or Lambos aren't.

Astons don't need to be as fast or powerful, they are smart elegant and surprisingly refreshingly understated. I walk down Vancouver streets and everyone always points out the ferraris, but not everyone notices an aston drive by. They don't need to show off, and that's why I love them.

This is one of only a couple of modern Supercars that comes with a proper 6 speed Manual box. That get's credit from me. I hope Aston continues to do that into the future.

aston martin will paint the car in any color you wish, that goes for the interior too.
you can even choose the with and color of the stitching.
Aston Martin's have the X factor, they cost more than the competition, they arent as fast, they dont handle as well, and they may no be as recognizable, but the pure elegance and presence of the car, trump all of the "downsides", and it becomes just a perfect machine that anyone with a brain would love to own.
i drove this car for a mile, clutch wasn't heavy to me, but fast as hell

I think Aston Martins are so beautiful, but they just don't compare to Porsche and Ferrari. Porsche and Ferrari are so advanced. Every week they make a new gearbox ,or engine or some type of performance system, but Lamborghini and Aston are just good looking cars with powerful engines, but they are just not comparable to the Ferrari and Porsche with engineering. So me, I am a Porsche and Ferrari guy. I think they are the two best sports cars around. Not to mention they are beautiful too.

@atma those two cars are argueable but in my intrest i would prefer the DBS.

@ArthrusGigawitAnteon alright i admit i might have been too harsh and too generic and i apologize. anyway i've never said something is wrong with american cars. they've got a certain charm that i understand and adore. and do bear in mind that i don't know if i said this before but i consider ford to be one of the brands in the world that made the largest amount of great cars: gt, mustang, etc..
This is one of the most beautiful cars today. It just might be the best looking (to me anyway).
The 599 is overall the better performing car but like just about all Ferrari cars, it will look dated much quicker. You just look at the DBS and go, "Damn... this car, 15 years from now... will look twice more attractive and perform better than my 25-year old wife down the line. I'm gonna have to replace that bitch."
This is a GORGEOUS car literally GORGEOUS grand tourer and GORGEOUS sports car.
I think It needs an extra 50 bhp though to beat its rivals

Sorry but I had to log in to give my opinion, especially to those FERRARI & LAMBORGHINI Fans. Well, a Ferrari and Lamborghini are those typical "eye-cathing" cars. (No offence, they are beautiful) BUT an Aston Martin DBS you can park infront of any supermarket. Honestly, The dbs is the most beautiful car I've ever seen (I am 26) and people who drive an DBS are REAL car lovers, no show-offs. Again, Ferrari and Lamborghini are beautiful but sorry - DBS is a completely different league.
I have never seen such a mass number of suicides from one video! How can you expect humanity to survive seeing nice pretty things they can't have!

Its funny how they try and do the top gear style camera shots except rather than do it in a beautiful scenic area they have done it in an industrial estate.

Im sorry but if im gonna spend that much money on a "supercar", it must be really fast. A 911 turbo, 458, and LP560 are all much faster than the DBS for less money. Jeremy Clarkson said it well saying you wouldnt choose the DBS if you wanted the most car for your money. I could only see myself having one of these if i already have a truly fast supercar or 2 and wanted the DBS for comfort and class. The DBS Volante would be in my dream garage but only if i already had my 458, LP670, and others,

This is a perfect car for your wife. It is very good looking and stylish, but it is just not performance enough for me. Porsche and Ferrari are for me.

the only thing i do not like about this company is that, the engines are not really up to par. i mean, ur telling me that for a dbs, the most hp you can get out of that v12 is 510, that is just shoddy, chevy can get 550 out of a v8, i mean i dont know if u do or not, but i would like to consider them a super car but super cars a supposed to puch the envolope and make the impossible possible and i am sorry but they do not do that for my, however in the looks department, they are a definant win

i think that red color is too ferarr-ish for aston martin.. its beautiful it is! but i personally think that "james bond" color is much better, or black.. because you are not about to be a showman in DBS.. its just not that kind of car...
