Slight correction - the extra sound is not pumped into the cabin through the speakers, it is real sound from the sound tube. The airbox was modified slightly to allow more nouse to come in. All authentic.
@@4wheelsandaseat I think the Subaru BRZ has fake engine noise through the speakers. The MX5 has a sound tube than enters the cabin where the glove box would be, a very easy delete. The under bonnet plumbing looks terrible. I pick up my soul read "manual" GT RS roadster next week, will post a comment after I've taken it down some country roads.
Would love to try the Mustang out but alas Ford are one of a couple of cars companies who aren’t interested in loaning me cars. Hopefully one day that will change! Thanks for watching!
This just goes to show that you don’t need 400hp to have fun. Mazda focuses on handling, precise steering, and light weight where as too many car makers focus on hp and top speed numbers that are impractical in daily street driving.
Nice review! I have a 2022 MX-5 GT soft top. The boot is fine. My wife and I took it on a 5 week interstate road trip. The boot has a narrow opening, but it’s deep and wide. It can hold two typical airline carry-on bags and some small back packs. It’s no SUV, but you sacrifice some convenience for a huge amount of fun.
When you upscale the shift and brake boot from Redline Goods with matching leather, get the padded leather armrest. It will prevent accidental switch activation, allow for a nice comfortable arm rest and look very nice.
Fantastic review. I'm waiting for mine to come from Japan and I can't wait! Gonna have it wrapped in PPF to make it purple! Next month can't come soon enough!
I thought the MX5 had a 'sound pipe/hose' running from the intake to near the fire wall that pumped the engine noise in to the cabin and not a 'fake sound' played through the speakers'?
Looking forward to the new body style in the 2026 model year. Friend is a Mazda dealer so he is going to save me one 🙏. My friend is concerned about it being too small for me. I am 6’1” and 210 so I’m not really that big 😂. How tall are you and what are your thoughts on the size. You seem to be over 6’ (1.83 meters).
I have rheumatoid arthritis in my left knee so heavy clutchwork is out of the question. I don't need you trying to make me feel bad about driving an auto. I have a 23 MX-5.
You may wish to temper the manual fanboy comments Alex. I love driving and until a dissolving spine got the better of me, was manual only. I have test driven an MX-5 a few times, but folding in and fairly ‘base model Mazda2’ platform turned me off. I decided to cut my losses. Relieve my dysfunctional back and purchase an E88 BMW 135i with the dreaded N54 engine. Even as an automatic, I am going to have to curb my enthusiasm, but the good thing is my useless left leg can stay useless as it has a clutch less manual mode. With some upgrades coming to freshen her up I will gladly take you on around any twisty road you like in your MX-5. Let’s see whose smile is bigger at the end of the run. Lloyd
It would be my smile in my manual mx5 NA with coil overs anti sway bars custom performance exhaust and intake. I empathise with you, but with an mx5 it’s manual or nothing.

Well well well. Looks like you tough guy manual drivers can't control your vehicles without annoying music pauses. We auto drivers wouldn't know how irritating that must be.
Hey, your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car. You can deliver mail in that car. Good for you. Maybe deliver newspapers too. I would still prefer the wheel on the standard left side, but to each their own. I still like the MX5. I prefer all analog gauges. Also, I wouldn't need to have electric seats. I like the RF version, and would probably leave the roof up all the time. I would also have the windows all tinted so nobody would be staring at me.

I traded in my mustang GT 5.0 for this model, the exhilaration, fun factor, exceeds my expectations 1000% ❤

I too previously owned a 2015 Mustang premium GT , the MX5 fits like a fine leather glove
No popping or cracking. Thankgod the engineers were older then 8
I don't mind the odd pop or crackle, but it's the fakeness most of these cars have - deliberately injecting petrol into the exhaust. Sounds so naff.

Wish Mazda put white reflectors where the snake LED fangs daytime running lights was, black plugs, are tacky

Why do Brits add an “r” to words… like “Mazda-r MX-5?” I’m just curious where that comes from.
I don’t know. I’ll be sure to ask a British person next time I meet one.
