- My third video in this style. The first was 6hrs, then 8hrs and now I give you this absolutely mammoth, 9hr deep dive into a brain melting array of tapping, scratching, crinkling and squishing sounds. All of these are unique and all recorded for our growing army of insomniac "ASMR Troops". We're fast approaching our first legion of 10k subscribers, so that's just epic in only 5 months! I can't thank you enough, now let's see if we can keep up this momentum towards a 100k strong ASMR division.
They say you need 8hrs of sleep every night, but what if you fancy a bit of a lie in? Well, surely these 9hrs of ad-free, soothing ASMR triggers should help. As always, I've gone for long and extended triggers in the 20-30min range. These are all pretty unusual and so very relaxing to listen to. I'm looking forward to your feedback on this one so please, kick back and switch off for the night again as these ASMR triggers take us on a 9hr journey into slumberland. Sweet dreams 😪😴💤🛌🏼😪

I've divided this video into tapping, scratching, crinkling and squishing sounds. The triggers are organised in that order, so the first 8 triggers are all tapping sounds. The next 7 chapters are scratching sounds. Followed by 6 chapters of crinkling sounds and finished off with 1 chapter of squishing sounds. Could it be the best one at the end? You'll have to watch it all to find out:

How can this channel be so underrated? I only discovered it today. Please youtube do your job
The channel is still under 5 months old but it's getting more and more comments and likes and the subscriber count is likely to be 10k by tonight. I'm happy with that so far and I'm hopeful for the future of the channel. 200k subs is the target I'm aiming for as I see that as the level of sustainability. The more likes, comments and shares we get then the more YT will promote ❤️🥰

Thank you, I prefer long and extended triggers too. In fact I find it really hard to record for shorter triggers as I get tuned into each sound and end up recording them for ages (as you can tell). I'm trying to shorten my triggers a bit as other folks prefer shorter videos so I'm looking to try find a happy medium with my next series. Watch out for these and let me know what you think. The first one in the series will be a "ASMR Tapping Only" video 🥰❤️

Thank you so much, it's such a nice thing to say. I've noticed that the ASMR community as whole are a really nice and uplifting bunch of folk. I think I've only had one negative comment out of thousands and the positivity from everyone is truly unique to the ASMR world. I'll keep on going though, I had to take a break there for a week or so but I'm setting up to record again today. It'll be at least a week for my next video as you say, it takes a lot to produce these long videos 🥰

Central Scotland. Have never shaken the accent, it's really hard to understand although I've been practicing my ASMR whispering here and there to see if I can pull off the soft, soothing tones that we Scottish folks just don't have, naturally. I'm getting better at it so you just never know, I might try a soft whispering video one of these days 🥰

Well eventually I'll give it a try... just need a bit more practice. Also, I've noticed that most talking ASMR videos seem to be pointless rambling about nothing of interest. I don't know if that's just generally what people like about this genre, or if there'd be a gap in space for ASMR whispering about interesting topics. Philosophical thoughts for example?

I get that comment a lot, but hopefully one day I'll have earned enough subscribers to make some money from UA-cam. When that time comes I can assure you that my ASMR will only get better as I'll have more time and resources to put into it. Until then, I'll keep on with this journey ❤️🥰
I’d recommend that you refrain from using any blue lighting or really having the color blue in an ASMR video. Only for the fact that blue light, which is what would be emitted by a phone or computer screen while watching anything, or blue light seen in real life, causes a person to stay awake. While blue seems calming, it keeps our brain going. Despite being the most ominous, red light is actually the best of any lights to go to sleep while visible
Though of course, should your goal be to keep the audience watching, then that’s a solid choice
You're right and I prefer orange or red light too, but I just like a little variety on the lighting department too 🥰❤️
As someone with frequent nightmares and someone who tends to sleep in 2-4 hour sessions, what I love about your asmr is I can wake up and it will still be on, allowing me to fall back asleep without finding a new video ❤

Your videos radiate kindness and really help me sleep. It’s very comforting to me, you remind me a lot of my dad and so it helps me sleep when I’m having bad insomnia. Sounds strange but truly is a compliment. Thankyou for all the effort you put in to these,and also for the length of the video. I don’t watch short asmr videos bc I don’t want to have to click on new ones or have a random ad wake me up at the end of the 30 minutes when I’m just starting to get to sleep. Just landed here. I have an 8 weeks old baby and have to wake up to feed him several times a night. Getting back to sleep can be difficult at times but with your top quality videos it won’t be so hard. What an incredibly professional production, I can’t believe you have only started in the ASMR world 8 months ago. If I may ask, how come you have so many mics already? Do you have a background on audiovisual technology? Thank you for your service, sir!
I don't know how mothers do that, honestly, new-mums deserve so much for what they do. I confess that when my kids were babies it was mum who got up in the night with them, I was working and up early but I really don't know how she done it. Anyway, I hope that my wee videos helped you get some much needed rest 🥰❤️
No, would you believe that I knew diddly-squat about photograph/videography, cameras, mics, sound recording devices, lighting, editing software, none of this stuff at all. I literally took a one-month deep dive into this world on UA-cam and thanks to some really amazing channels out there who discuss these topics in great detail, I was able to learn everything in a very short space of time. I've always been good at retaining information and learning new things but the hardest part to learn was definitely the sound recording. It's difficult to get it into your head at first, especially ASMR sound recording as there's nothing much about it on UA-cam and it's nothing at all like standard studio recording. Luckily, I made a friend through this endeavour, the guy who owns SR3D, he's a real audiophile and he helped me to understand the sound setup really well.
As for the mics, during that same month I also decided to make my own binaural head-mics. I couldn't justify paying the price for the standard market one as they're over-priced for what they are. I'm good with my hands so saved a fortune just making my own. I used the same mic capsules as the top end models so they might not look as good as those but they sound the same (I think) 🥰
As with all new ventures in life, it's nice to learn things and it's nice to meet new people along the way. I'll be testing a brand new mic for SR3D in the next week or so.... the first time it's been used. I've already tried it and I think it sounds better than any mic I've used to date. You'll see (hear) 🥰❤️

Yes, the information age is incredible. I'm quite happy to sit all day absorbing information on a broad range of things. My problem is that there's not enough hours in a day to absorb information on everything that interests me. I end up going down more than one rabbit hole at once 😊

That's ok, I'm from the "if something is worth doing then it's worth doing well" camp. I do put in a lot of effort but hopefully it'll pay off 🥰🥰 With the section chapters, do you think it's a good idea to do them in order, like all tapping, then all scratching etc.? Usually I just mix them all up.
@@ASMRtroops it’s definitely worth it and certainly done well! as for the chapter sections, I think it’s rly up to you on how u wanna section em. Some videos are fine in order and others mixed. For something so long tho my preference is in order of type that way I can snooze off to that specific trigger, but I can see shorter videos with more attention span focus can be better off mixed. Really just depends on what type of video u wanna make tbh!

Thank you, I like that people are giving me advice. it means a lot 🥰 I'm going to extract a series of uploads from existing videos, with 30-60min triggers. So for example, the first scene in this video (the too flosser) - I'll make that into a clicking ASMR video on it's own. (By the way, have you tried listening to that on slower speeds?) - Yeah, I'll do one of these types of videos every day or so, just to see if it brings in new viewers. I'm thinking of re-doing my categories into video length instead of what's there currently.... good idea or bad?

As a depressed axiety filled insolmniac with ADHD this was satisfying to listen to while i hyperfixated on something for a while, just me an ASMR video and my vast majority of mental problems and disorders 🥲 i mean it did help to have something calming in the backround while i get lost in work again though, helps avoid the panic. So thank you for that, as i tend to struggle finding videos long enough to play get me calm and play long enough to keep me calm, me being forgetfull i can fool myself by playing this on loop because theres so many triggers ill forget the ones playing by the time they play again and itll feel new. ❤

That's interesting because to me, mastering the volume is the hardest part of editing an ASMR video. I don't use the "normalise volume" feature in editing software as it flattens the high frequencies and often removes the lower frequencies. I don't like the result and prefer to manually go through every single part of the audio and fine tune it all by ear. Takes ages but the result is worthwhile compared to most "normalise volume" artists.
I'm quite new to ASMR and the volume is still the hardest part but I think you'll like my latest video, here: ua-cam.com/video/1S8fwUtZpp4/v-deo.html (I kept the volume a bit louder again) 🥰

The thing is: you started 6 months ago, and most of ASMRtist are not success in just 6 months.Sir, your asmr is amazing, the only problem is it takes time for your audience to grow. So please just keep doing this consistently, I know for sure this channel will be big in the future.

I thought it was five months (late December) - could be wrong though, but either way I feel blessed to have reached 10k troops so quickly. I've seen some beeswax ASMR before but I've not seen a good one. The ones I've seen were recorded with cheap mics and hasty editing but I can hear that it makes a really cool cracking and popping sound. I'll keep an eye out for some as it's not the kind of thing you get over here. It's not a common product on the shelf 🥰
How long a video takes to edit depends on a few different things but it really boils down to how clean the original recording is. How clean the recording is will depend on the mic-choice and how good it is at picking up the fine ASMR frequencies of every tiny sound, whilst simultaneously eliminating unwanted noise from the background. Trust me when I say, some mics are better than others for this. The mic I used in this 9hr video was really quite amazing at it and it made editing so much quicker.
If you somehow manage to get perfect gain on every single part of the video, with no bumps or bangs or belly rumbles then it'd take about 2 full days to piece that 9hr video together. In reality though, every section needs to be fine tuned with the gain tweaked all the way through and with any imperfections edited out along the way. This particular video took me about 5 days to edit and piece together. That's actually pretty quick 🥰❤️

Yeah, 9hrs turned out to be 245gb which is right on the UA-cam maximum file size. I actually had to cut about 3hrs of additional triggers from this video just to meet these limits. Otherwise it would have been like 12hrs long haha 🥰🥰

I would, but don't want to risk a poor quality vid. I used the best triggers in this 9hr one and eliminated the ones that I liked least. So, I don't really want to use footage just for the sake of it. I'll try only to upload the best 🥰

With a quick review my favourites are bamboo hollows, hardwood harmony, slate love notes, rythmic rolling, sunflower gloves, purrfect percussion (love the names of the triggers)
I dont usually like pine cone triggers but this was so good!

Oh yeah, that pine cone was just lying on the ground round back and I pocketed it along with the eryngium thistle. They're fresh from my back yard so maybe fresh ones sound better than the store bought dried ones 🥰🥰

I started to post on TikTok @ASMRtroops but not much luck with it. I have a bunch of staged targets that I've planned into this journey, for example 10K subs start posting shorts (tick). 20k subs (start introducing whispering (tick)...... 30k subs (introduce one of my Trooplets to the channel)...... 40k subs (introduce ASMR role playing)..... and so it goes on up to 100k subs where I reckon I'll start live streaming ❤🥰 I've got all this planned out in my head you see.
