      British humor is THE best. Highly verbally clever and self-deprecating. The masters of laughing-with vs. laughing-at (the latter would be the French, whose humor is almost entirely take-down).

      There’s nothing wrong with lightening a situation with some humour, no one died, yes she could have broken a bone, but she didn’t. Life is short, inject humour where possible! If we never used humour when something ‘could have’ happened we’d be bloody miserable, it’s like saying we shouldn’t say anything humorous when we’re crossing a road because we could get seriously hurt in an accident.
      Why use capitals?

    You never see bichons, maltese, cavalier king charles or shih tzus in this kind of programs, because they are company dogs, created to just sit with humans. But most people seem to forget that geman shepherds, dobermans, border collies, bulldogs, etc, are working dogs, they need a purpose, specific activities, and then they are astonished when they don't behave like bichons!

    HAD show quality dobermans for 45 yrs. they are INTENSE, loyal, elegant, athletic, INTELLIGENT dogs that love their people! but you HAVE to be the boss of them right from the start. DONT let them on the furniture and make them behave! and have ROUND door handles not bar handles. if u merely want a cuddly dog and not b the boss of the dog, then dont get a doberman.

    3:32 when people complain dogs can open doors just turn the handles around, when they complain that they open bathroom and bedroom doors just put a simple lock on it. A friend has one to keep her cats from peeing on the living room furniture when they’re not home. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Why is it that there isn't a course in commonsense before people are allowed to get a dog? If you dont have control of your dog it should be on a lead. But at the very least if your dog is jumping on people you grab it by the collar and pull it away and keep it away. Whining its name over and over again is teaching your dog to ignore you. And you are disrespecting every person your dog assaults.
    Rule of thumb (for people with self respect) If you wouldn't do it to a person, then nor should your puppy, because that is where it starts. If you wouldn't let a big dog do it, then why in hell are you letting a little dog do it???
    But the biggest part (and sadly we do it to our kids too) is forgetting to reward when they're being good, doing nothing, or a pat when they're sound asleep. If we all used positive reinforcement throughout our day wouldn't the world be a happier place and wouldn't our pets and children thrive?

  • @JOHN----DOE
    @JOHN----DOE 4 місяці тому +2

    There's such a pattern here--not unlike that in Supernanny. Owners, like parents, need to establish dominance while also rewarding good behavior. Most of these owners yell "don't" and think dogs can understand complex sentences, instead of seriously saying "NO," giving consequences (less so) and rewarding the good behavior (works better than with kids). Don't be a buddy, be an adult--especially to puppies and dominant breeds. And STOP encouraging the breeding of doodles, who are congenitally defective in temperament and health! The very originator of these crossbreeds says he regrets doing it.

      Because castration doesn’t solve what is training issues! This comes down to the owners not setting boundaries! Castration is easy money for a vet and a potential lifetime of issues for the dog after! Specially when it’s being done on dogs far too young!
