well, i cant consider myself an expert, but like many people who comment here i am annoyed at most dog owners who are showed on this show. i don’t have a dog currently, but i want to get one soon, and have had dogs in the past.. i’ve spent probably over 200 hours researching about the dog breed i want, and how to care for them including training, nutrition and exercise. most people get dogs and don’t research anything, don’t put any time into training their dog beyond “sit” and “down”.. and then they’re surprised when bad behaviour happens. most issues with dogs can be avoided completely by simply doing research before you get one, so you know how to handle issues early. with the internet being so full of different resources, it’s not hard to find “all answers” to typical dog problems. i am watching this show currently as part of my research to see what not to, and i refuse to get a dog until i know everything i need about proper dog care.
the owners know nothing and haven't even looked for advice. read a book! even google would have given some helpful answers but they did nothing except reinforce bad behaviour and further stress their overbred dogs.
I'm studying to be an accredited dog behaviourist (I'm doing well:) and grahams teachings are very helpful to me. I can't use them in my studies but it helps for me to see how qualified trainers deal with the tough cases
So far, all the episodes I've watched, there's nothing wrong with the dogs, it's either the handlers are too anxious or they talk way too much like the dogs can understand English. Firstly, the dogs should understand what 'No' or any other words they're using mean because that would be unfair to the dogs. It's sad that dogs are always the ones that pay the price for owners' ignorance.
No mention of the fact that the gent is using a walking stick, and the dog low on the floor sees it as a threat? (There's also the possibility that he's accidentally bumped into the dog with it/ purposely used it to get him away when he's been challenging.)
Why are all these owners so clueless? Training, correcting unwanted behavior, and actually being a leader goes a long way to having a dog you can live with and enjoy. No dog should ever be in charge!
@@lauraw.7008Pity they don't learn before they get a dog. People will read dozens of books before having a baby, but they won't take a course or watch some videos before getting a dog.

Actually they are quite similar, at least toddlers are and should learn boundaries and that tantrums don't work. If a small child was hitting her husband and throwing a tantrum over the sofa she would remove them immediately and make it clear that was unacceptable behaviour. She wouldn't be scared of them.

He’s unlikely to have forgotten him, but the family dynamic can change. It can very well be he saw the return as a challenge. My ex’s dad had a intact male hunting dog that “took over” as the dominant male after he left for a vacation. After he came back started showing aggression towards him and protective behaviour around the family.
You DON'T train a dog not to growl or reprimand them for doing so. A growl is very useful. It's a warning. Dogs need to be able to growl so we can read their behaviour. If a dog is trained not to growl, they will resort to biting without warning. The underlying issue here needed to be addressed not the resulting behaviour. Very outdated way of thinking - dogs need to be able to communicate so we can understand them.
@@emsxbabe1982You can 100% train out aggressive behaviour. You remove them from the stimulation and only allow them back when they are calm. Eventually they will learn that if they are aggressive they have to go to the naughty spot.
@@beepbopboop7727 Yes you can train out aggressive behaviour but a dog shouldn't be taught that growling is wrong. Growling is a form of communication and is useful for all sorts of situations. Plus all the training in the world is never a guarantee so you don't want a dog that decides to go straight to a bite when a kid is annoying him rather than at least giving a warning growl first. Obedience training is far more effective than reprimanding a dog for undesirable behaviours. For example, dogs bark but you don't want them to bark endlessly. So training would involve allowing a dog to bark at a stimuli a couple of times but to stop barking when you give the command. Teaching a dog that barking in itself is wrong means they won't bark in a situation where you might actually want them to, like an intruder trying to access your property.
People, don't get a dog to solve your problems. If youre a single parent and your kid is lonely, invite one or a few of theur friends over for a playdate. Or get them involved in a sport or hobby. If you're unsure how youll go with having children, sign up for parenting classes. We dont get the knowledge at school. If you're lonely, join a club or hobby group. Local libraries, information centres and community centres usually advertise. Even disabled groups, schools or elderly citizens homes need people to do chat groups, run activities or hobby groups.
It’s amazing to me that these people pet bruce and coddle him through all his bad behaviour. Why is it’s that owners of small dogs give them no training and consequences for bad behaviour. He not in distress he’s just a bully and they have allowed it.
The way mike makes a fist and freezes sometimes, I think the dog is interpreting that as anger or aggression so he's trying to attack mike in order to protect the wife.
Those frenchies are not babies its soooo sad......treat them like babies they become babies ..she makes it worse by nurturing that behaviour with baby talk an daftness.......
Regarding the situation with Teddy. I don't think that it's necessarily the change in Mike since he returned from hospital, but maybe the stick that he is having to use. Maybe Teddy has developed a negative association with the stick? It would be interesting to know if the couple have had Teddy from a puppy or did he have a previous owner or was he a rescue dog? If he has been owned by others previously, he may have been taunted or even hit with a stick which would explain his negative association with it? I felt a bit uncomfortable watching the part where they used the can of compressed air, especially when they attached it to the walking stick, because I just thought that it might further increase Teddy's anxiety about the stick but it seems to have worked quite well and hopefully this continues to work. I genuinely think though, that it's the stick, and not Mike, that Teddy is reacting to.
I don’t do the same techniques as this dude and I do the Cesar Milan method and my dogs are PERFECT.. HAPPY.. STABLE AND PERFECT.. Cesar’s methods are soft, quiet and perfect.. and although I was born with dogs.. and showed and bred dogs for decades.. I already trained dogs but changed a few things and now it’s amazing .. I know dogs body language and the control I have is amazing.. my dogs are 70KG.. so big, when someone is at the fence they ram the fence etc.. but the second I go outside they immediately come to me.. without a word.. and relax but of course are still alert.. but they know I’m the pack leader and take their cues from me.. imagine 3 dogs immediately stopping barking and relaxing when mums around.. 😂 Dogs are not human and it’s cruel to put human emotions onto dogs because they end up exactly like we see here.. UNHAPPY, STRESSED, UNSTABLE AND RIDICULOUS.. all because people treat dogs like humans.. it’s CRUEL.. and if people actually loved their dogs they would want their dogs happy.. SO STOP THE BABY TALK, STOP PRAISING DOGS.. ACTUALLY STOP TALKING SO DAMN MUCH.. especially when you are trying to rehabilitate an unstable dog.. respect dogs for being dogs and learn how to be responsible dog parents.. if people want happy dogs..
🙄I get that the wife wants to comfort Ted, thinking he's upset - but from Ted's perspective? She's rewarding him, as if she's saying, "Thanks for saving me from this strange man who now lives with us."
Every frenchie I’ve ever met talks like this. Ppl need to be the pack leader and put them in check. Not physically hurt them ever, just not tolerate this behavior
It's good to have dogs before having babies because they exactly show which kind of parent you're gonna be and how to fix your parenting behaviour flaws The woman has to change her behaviour before having children because this will be the exact problem with future children, too

@camartinwv at 11 yo, there may be a health cause. My 16yo doxy-mix has started taking himself to the bedroom, and barking insistently to get me to come to bed. If it’s close to bedtime, fine. But I’m not going to bed at 7:00 pm. He gets picked up & brought back into living room. His hearing & vision are mostly gone. I asked vet, in Kobe’s case he said may just be getting older, and doggy dementia could be setting in. Or his arthritis pain meds may also be making him want to sleep more. Does your older dog need to go to the bathroom urgently?
Watching these people is so frustrating.. it’s so obvious to me.. what’s going on.. OMG. THE DUDE JUST SAID IF HE CANT FIX THE DOG THEY WOULD GET RID OF HIM.. MY GOD.. you don’t fix the dog because it’s the people with issues and any dog they get won’t be raised properly..
People need to stop petting the dogs when they are doing things you want them to stop. By petting the dog you encourage the behaviour you want them to stop doing.
15:27 that sign speaks volumes about their thought process behind how they treat their dogs behaviour. If they had just ignored it in the beginning bruce would have learned that acting that way didnt get him what he wanted
They are kind of strangled. Did you now french bullies use to sit while sleeping because laying down on the ground is almost choking them because of the short head?
Many dog owners don't understand that dogs are pack animals. They always need to know who is the leader and who is above them in the hierarchy - namely every human family member. If this is not clear, the dog occupies a higher position in the pack than the human and starts to threaten family members.
Pat needs to quit petting Ted when he's growling. That rewards the aggression. I hope Mike is getting better these days. Now that Popcorn is sweet, you could call him Poppy.
I think dogs have a better intuition than us, I think Teddy was trying to tell his dad not to do so much, he was frightened he might lose him completely!
Attacking is not how dogs protect. If he was acting in a protective way, he'd try to block Mike walking or stay by his side. Anthropomorphizing dogs is part of what makes a useless dog owner.
Every frenchy I’ve ever met in my life is as crazy and loud as Bruce I sometimes sit at the vets or dog park and wonder why anyone would chose that type of dog out of all the types there are to have around you 24/7 I commented this and then my jaw dropped when he said it’s an unusual sound for them I swear I’ve seen dozens of frenchies scream like that even my dads neighbor has one acts just like this I live in a country where sadly training your dog is only now starting to get traction with younger people so I’m sure most frenchies I’ve met are just untrained but seem like untrained frenchies default is to scream and be really personal space invasive
The little cairn senses the change, but the harsh reality is it is just a dog, and the poor guy has had enough shit to deal with. Get another dog, get rid of the old one.
My late husband and I had a Cairn terrier.4 yrs sweet personality, but very hard to train. Then she started getting snippy with both of us, and didn't want to be close to either of us. She got more yappy.
If Ted is a rescue, he might have some trauma issues. I watched a youtube video a while ago and this dog would wake up screaming because of being abused. They tried everything to help him. Finally they tried blue light therapy and for once the dog got a good night sleep. Maybe a blue light would help??
It doesn’t seem that Ted was a rescue dog. He’d been a loving family pet to both of them for years. His behavior changed when Mike changed after the surgery and hospital stay.

Wow 😲 this is so sad 😢 and to think they were the best of buddies. Grahame will definitely fix the situation. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
It's the cane and possibly the shoes. Once we introduced a walker, our dog would bark at my brother. When my husband bought new shoes, our dog would not go near him. It was some weird anxieties that we had to work through.
I think we need to consider how life looks from 30cm high. I'd be scared of walkers and canes at that height.
All dogs should be fine with any changes and if the dogs are raised the right way ABSOLUTELY NOTHING affects them.. because the dogs are stable, secure and trust the owners and NOTHING AFFECTS THEM.. when a dog is insecure AND NOT RAISED PROPERLY, they WILL BE AFFECTED BY SOME THINGS.. because the dog doesn’t trust the owners.. I could drive a tractor through the house, have ALL OF THE CANES, SET FIREWORKS OFF IN THE BACKYARD.. CHANGE EVERYTHING and my dogs would not be affected at all.. the issue STARTED WAY BEFORE HE COME HOME WITHE THE CANE..
Best regards to Mike & his wife. 😊
Quite like you fella, God has chosen my dogs because I have never had a bad dog, I am 64 and have had dogs since I was 7. Sadly I lost my Brok in April 2023 and have Brad his non-Brother who is an Angel. Yes I feel Blessed, but also I think there are no bad dogs just bad owners!! 🐶🐶🙏🙏
Yup. If you are sensible and calm and observant you know how to handle dogs. The owner of that Frenchie shouldn't have a pet or a child, period. No clue.
@@FigaroHeyPlease give them a break. Not everybody has the same gifts in life. Were you born knowing how to tie your shoes? Or to balace your checkbook? I can almost guarantee you that there is something you have no clue how to do that they find intuitively easy. God made us that way to keep us humble and in need of Him and each other. Try a little compassion and support of your fellow man and celebrate their progress because we're all interconnected. Jesus said, "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto Me."
I believe it is no accident that doG spelled backwards is God. He always gives us the dogs we need in order to teach US important life lessons. Who could ask for a more inviting teacher than a warm and fuzzy friend!!!
No matter where you've run
No matter where you've roamed
Arms wide open, God is always waiting to welcome you back home!
Most sacred heart of Jesus, open the hearts and minds of ALL us sinners to the truth and light of God, the Almighty Father. AMEN!
I am so sorry for your loss. 😢
I lost my lovely service dog LODUR, a 7 yo Rottweiler, on April 29th in 2023. He had been attacked by a dog hater and we fought for Lodur dor 3 weeks until he finally died.
I still miss him sooo much. But my current Rottweiler has helped, even though he is meanwhile in puberty and mostly totally nuts.
the wee girl Frenchie is a total angel
She looks embarrassed 😂
I think the daughter should be popcorns trainer..she seems to have good instincts. Loved to see the girl stick up for her baby..
These people don't seem to have the first idea. Someone's in charge, and it's not the dog! All this stuff should have been dealt with in the first months. "Mummy's coming back"" (eye roll!!!!!)
🤣🤣🤣🤣
These people are going to have humans next
Dogs are supposed to have a job and not be pampered spoilt brats. Shame that some people don't get that.
Right, dogs evolved to be helpers and friends for humans. Not to be treated like Gods lol. They go off the rails when they're pampered like an 18th century king.
I think the owners want training not the dogs.
for sure, but I think the first couple did the right thing getting help otherwise you just go around in circles and it just needs an outsider to tweak something
Well people don’t always know what to do. Better to seek help and education than not.
Id a dog wont accept someone you do. They do not consider you a leader. Im glad they got the help they needed
Em ... if that screaming Frenchie is spoiling every outing with your mates or every car trip, why bring him??? It's not a social occasion for him... at ALL ... nor for your mates.
Frenchies are like a fashion accessory. To them it would be like going out without a handbag or nice shoes.
The other Frenchie probably doesn't like to be without him.
@@stealthwarrior5768 there's a reason those dogs cost 6-8k while another breed might cost 3k.. And it's cruel to breed them because they have respiratory issues. People get them because they are cool.
@@MsJubjubbird lol ... yes, seems very pretentious ...after all they've shelled out for that expensive fashion status statement, what good is it leaving it at home, gotta impress the 'mates'. Sad
That's what Frenchie's are. Fashion accessories. Replacement babies. Coochie, Coo.
Such a positive boost to see the changes in pups and owners. Lovely to see.
I haven't had an aggressive dog, but I feel for these owners and their canine plight. It is obviously difficult and potentially dangerous.
Feel so sorry for the good girl frenchie. Poor baby is getting ignored practically lol…
Bruce has such a range of vocal sounds! Never heard anything like it!
And there is his owner petting him when he does it lol!
Gosh, in reading the comments it appears that everyone here is an expert. Glad you have all the answers.
I do agree, but truly the dog will pick up the fear in the room and react. It must be murder having to see such an odd change in a pet.
People want to help and often looking in from outside you see something the ones in the situation don’t
Of course we are. We are allowed to have an opinion. Even in conversation, that's what humans do.
@@deefee701not one of the comments you left here is humane.
well, i cant consider myself an expert, but like many people who comment here i am annoyed at most dog owners who are showed on this show. i don’t have a dog currently, but i want to get one soon, and have had dogs in the past.. i’ve spent probably over 200 hours researching about the dog breed i want, and how to care for them including training, nutrition and exercise. most people get dogs and don’t research anything, don’t put any time into training their dog beyond “sit” and “down”.. and then they’re surprised when bad behaviour happens. most issues with dogs can be avoided completely by simply doing research before you get one, so you know how to handle issues early. with the internet being so full of different resources, it’s not hard to find “all answers” to typical dog problems. i am watching this show currently as part of my research to see what not to, and i refuse to get a dog until i know everything i need about proper dog care.
Frenchie's are known for that screaming and babbel jabbling.. I have meet 2 screaming ones and seen it many times on tv
I couldnt imagine going to hospital and coming home to my fur baby not knowing and feeling threatened by me.
Great outcome..
"dogs behaving very badly" aka "dog owners enforcing bad behavior" - good job!
the owners know nothing and haven't even looked for advice. read a book! even google would have given some helpful answers but they did nothing except reinforce bad behaviour and further stress their overbred dogs.
Regarding the Frenchie, there’s a channel that features one, named Walter, that squalls exactly like this and rules the house.
And the reason I wouldn't even consider a Frenchie.
Sahara is such a lovely well spoken young lady. 😊
Thank you Graham. ❤
Poor Popcorn hating the ill-fitted muzzle so much 😞 Please get him a properly fitted one!
You pet Bruce when he is screaming & that just rewards him for bad behavior
What a difference to all their lives. Well done. X
He’s not a child he is a dog.
They want to have children ? They are too soft to the frenchie Bruce hope they succeed with the upbringing of their children 😊
Why are all these owners so clueless? Training, correcting unwanted behavior, and actually being a leader goes a long way to having a dog you can live with and enjoy. No dog should ever be in charge!
@Acinny - that’s the reason for these shows; teaching people the skills they need to learn as the pet caregivers.
@@lauraw.7008Pity they don't learn before they get a dog. People will read dozens of books before having a baby, but they won't take a course or watch some videos before getting a dog.
Thank you. They'd be helping their pet and everyone if they'd just learn that.
@@FigaroHeyPeople think pets are easy and don't need advice.
Every dog is different and even if you’ve had dogs previously, dogs come with their own idiosyncrasies. I think we’re being quite harsh on owners. People do their best, if we were all so perfect, we wouldn’t need dog trainers. I find some of the comments under these videos quite judgemental. Comes across as a bit self righteous.
I'm happy little Zahara can keep her pup
Popcorn needs a bath and groom to start with.
People need to treat dogs like dogs not children! There’s no comparison
Actually they are quite similar, at least toddlers are and should learn boundaries and that tantrums don't work. If a small child was hitting her husband and throwing a tantrum over the sofa she would remove them immediately and make it clear that was unacceptable behaviour. She wouldn't be scared of them.
@@chrysalis4126Really? Watch Supernanny and you'll see parents doing nothing when children misbehave...
@@chrysalis4126Nah. I've seen this kind and of woman as a mother. They try to use reason and explanations with children who are below the age of reason (roughly age 7), like that idiot woman telling a dog to calm down.
@@stealthwarrior5768 and vice versa ... sad to see but all too common; it's as if they have no idea of appropriate boundaries between being human or animal. The lines have been blurred for them and they believe that's normal.

I love Cairn Terriers. ❤❤❤
Me to! And Westies, their first cousins. ❤
I love animals, dogs especially, but no way I would take a bulldog home, that can scream like this, after hearing this video.
It’s cruel to have bred them the way they are, I’d never get one. They can’t be born naturally and need cooling pads in the summer because they can’t breathe well and overheat easily. The noise of just their breathing is awful.
@@AndreaJones-eh3sd and they're often inbred which can make them stupid, with emotional issues.
So sad to see dogs being frustrated and stressed out of their mind from a lack of leadership and guidance.
Well done!
Mike had a stroke and to Ted sensing of a defect makes him feel uneasy with the unsteadiness and change in routine.
Let's call it a profound change.
Popcorn did amazing!❤
He’s unlikely to have forgotten him, but the family dynamic can change. It can very well be he saw the return as a challenge.
My ex’s dad had a intact male hunting dog that “took over” as the dominant male after he left for a vacation. After he came back started showing aggression towards him and protective behaviour around the family.
Why are you allowing her to pet him when he is growling? That is the point of disallowing the behavior.
Bruce gets rewarded when he is screaming 🤪
It’s amazing to me that these people pet bruce and coddle him through all his bad behaviour. Why is it’s that owners of small dogs give them no training and consequences for bad behaviour. He not in distress he’s just a bully and they have allowed it.
The way mike makes a fist and freezes sometimes, I think the dog is interpreting that as anger or aggression so he's trying to attack mike in order to protect the wife.
Those frenchies are not babies its soooo sad......treat them like babies they become babies ..she makes it worse by nurturing that behaviour with baby talk an daftness.......
Ok Bruce, thanks for talking me out of ever getting one of those dogs. If the abusive breeding practices hadn't already mind.
Popcorns mom could have her kid help carry some groceries so mom has more freedom to deal with Popcorn.
This is what happens when you treat dogs like children.
Dog growls at the womans husband and she keeps petting it
🙄I get that the wife wants to comfort Ted, thinking he's upset - but from Ted's perspective? She's rewarding him, as if she's saying, "Thanks for saving me from this strange man who now lives with us."
In her mind she's trying to calm it down
Every frenchie I’ve ever met talks like this. Ppl need to be the pack leader and put them in check. Not physically hurt them ever, just not tolerate this behavior
It's good to have dogs before having babies because they exactly show which kind of parent you're gonna be and how to fix your parenting behaviour flaws
The woman has to change her behaviour before having children because this will be the exact problem with future children, too
I really dont get how people still want to get French bull dogs as a pet, the information is there, they have health problems and often neurotic issues
I have sprollies and they are as different as chalk and cheese one is loving to everyone and the other wont tolerate any other dog but her sister. She is a nightmare to walk
Popcorn needs a bath!
I like these videos. So entertaining. People behaving stupidly with dogs.
The thought of Bruce 's owners becoming parents is really frightening

Thats so sad im crying for the first couple. But changes can cause this, I had 2 dogs that were best friends till one developed a seizure problem. Then the other one turned on her, i had to keep them separated after that.
Mike got another smell after leaving Hospital. Desinfection and medcine 😱

Poor Mike; he looks so sad.
No será el bastón y la manera distinta de caminar lo que provoca esa reacción? . O sea miedo. Quizá nunca antes vio un bastón y los perros son muy sensibles a objetos nuevos.
Bruce became quiet but not calm.
He’s jealous omg poor Mike please find help❤
What kind of name is popcorn though?
I have an 11 yo Shitzu Maltese who just started doing this when I get up to go the bathroom in the morning. I have 3 dogs and they all sleep in large crates in my bedroom at night. Now he has started throwing a fit. Totally annoying why I am trying to go to the bathroom.
I thought maybe I could get some tips here. Nah. Durn.
Popcorn has territorial aggression for his person and hes been babied.
Perhaps Popcorn doesn't like his name???
French bulldog Bruce’s owner Camilla behaviour is so irritating !
good god yes
That's really sad ❤ 🙏
People need to stop petting the dogs when they are doing things you want them to stop. By petting the dog you encourage the behaviour you want them to stop doing.
15:27 that sign speaks volumes about their thought process behind how they treat their dogs behaviour. If they had just ignored it in the beginning bruce would have learned that acting that way didnt get him what he wanted
They are kind of strangled. Did you now french bullies use to sit while sleeping because laying down on the ground is almost choking them because of the short head?
Popcorns behavioural issues were down to a completely incompetent owner ? theres a surprise.
I don't want to trivialize this problem, but Bruce may see the rolling cart as another dog in the house. Sorry.
I think dogs have a better intuition than us, I think Teddy was trying to tell his dad not to do so much, he was frightened he might lose him completely!
Attacking is not how dogs protect. If he was acting in a protective way, he'd try to block Mike walking or stay by his side. Anthropomorphizing dogs is part of what makes a useless dog owner.
by intimidating him? and biting him?
😢😮So sorry, that is disconserting indeed! ❤
Every frenchy I’ve ever met in my life is as crazy and loud as Bruce I sometimes sit at the vets or dog park and wonder why anyone would chose that type of dog out of all the types there are to have around you 24/7
I commented this and then my jaw dropped when he said it’s an unusual sound for them I swear I’ve seen dozens of frenchies scream like that even my dads neighbor has one acts just like this I live in a country where sadly training your dog is only now starting to get traction with younger people so I’m sure most frenchies I’ve met are just untrained but seem like untrained frenchies default is to scream and be really personal space invasive
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The little cairn senses the change, but the harsh reality is it is just a dog, and the poor guy has had enough shit to deal with. Get another dog, get rid of the old one.
That's not what normal people do. You help them, not abandon them. If you don't have empathy, don't have pets.
His behavior changed when Mike changed after the surgery and hospital stay.
great video!@
