hiiii friends!! hope you've all been having a great day ❤ treat yourself or a loved one to a special gift!! www.bluenile.com/TARA, code TARA gets you $50 off purchases of $500 or more!
Girl you need an air fryer!! So easy for all the things you love. Roasted veggies, chickpeas, tofu, even chicken! Also invest in a digital thermometer!!! Just need to cook your chicken to 165 deg F. Then it’s done. You won’t have to worry about overcooking or undercooking ❤
THIS! Seriously! I wasn't intrigued on all things air-fryer at first, then... bam! Purchased one and it's been the only thing that has been constantly active in my kitchen now :D
I am pretty sure her stove has this feature. Hopefully she sees these comments and tries it and I think it might make it easier on her when trying to cook chicken
you and Jill's friendship makes my heart so happy! truly feels like such a sign from the universe that she ended up with a canadian! loved seeing you all at the cabin this summer❤🤠
chicken advice!! Don't flip half way through, it may avoid that "soft" feeling, since it'll crisp up nicer if it doesn't move around while cooking - you'll also avoid any kind of cross contamination. Invest in a meat thermometer, so you can temp your chicken when it comes out (165F) to make sure its cooked to the proper internal temperature. If you still want your chicken to be nice and juicey, cook it a little lower for a little longer - 350F for about 25-30 minutes is usually the golden time for chicken breasts.
Can’t wait to see your “book nook”! You can always think of the physical books as trophies 🏆 so it really is your trophy room lol! As a fellow book girlie I love seeing you fall in love with reading ❤
super random q but how do you keep yourself organized with your social plans, to do lists, etc. do you keep an agenda or is it all digitally? a video on how you organize your life would be so cool to see since it feels like you always have so much going on :)
Always fun when you and Jill, are back on the scene together. Those glasses were so cute, at the Friends- giving. It was cool watching you go back over;some of the books you've read.
I never leave comments under videos but I just wanted to say that I only recently found your channel and I HAD to subscribe. You are so sweet and your vlogs are so simple but entertaining. I really look forward to every new video and I've loooved all of them so far! Thank you for your positivity and for keeping me company
You can try and chop or dice up the chicken into small bits and mix into your bowl. It will disguise any rubbery texture. You can also mince it up and make chicken salad. 😊
The nice part about having some of your favorite books in hard copy is that when your kindle dies or brakes you have your favorites to read until a new kindle comes in the mail. I’m on my third kindle. I have around 2000 books on the kindle, all of which I have read. I had about 600 books in hard copy, but had to get rid of about 2/3 of them to fit the tv for my husband. I’ve always been a reader.
Every time I watch you vlogs I read immediately after. You convinced me to start reading on the kindle App with my IPad mini and I love it! I could never get into reading when having to lug a physical book around but now that I can just throw it in my bag it’s amazing. I’ve read 19 books this year !
I need you to read fourth wing and Acotar, then you can dip into throne of glass. Iron flame comes out of November 7th and you will just need to pick up that second book. I really think you’ll love them. Acotar is what brought me from a romance girlie to a romantasy girlie. Such a game changer!
For the jaw pain - when you go to the dentist ask if they think you might be clenching your jaw in your sleep. A lot of people clench or grind their teeth at night, especially when they're stressed and it can cause jaw pain. If that's the case, they might give you a splint to wear at night which is like halfway between a mouthguard and a retainer, but it generally helps lessen these kinds of issues. (Disclaimer: I'm not a dentist, and I am not trying to diagnose anything. I did however listen to my grandpa a lot growing up who was an orthodontist, and I was having similar jaw pain in my teens, so now I wear a splint at night too which has helped a lot)
I am totally copying the book nook idea! The idea of seeing all my books visually is very pleasing… and having friends be able to come over & talk about then & let them borrow them! ❤
Love, LOVE the book nook idea. I buy random books both novels and reference(got a pretty large library rn) but I do the favorite thing with physical versions of my favorite albums/movies/tv shows.
One of my fave ways to cook chicken to make sure it’s not gross (lol) is to put it in a crockpot with enchilada sauce (I’m sure you could do it with curry or broth or something) and let it cook for a few hours. After that you can shred it so the texture isn’t ever weird! I’ll use it in bowls or salads or soup and it’s the best :)
I heard if you cook cold chicken it comes out rubbery. If you let it come to room temp (let it sit out for 30 min before cooking) it comes out tender. Idk if it works, like if you’ve heard this or tried it.
I just finished Fourth Wing and I LOVED IT. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I am more of an audiobook girly because I work but I also have a running book list on Amazon for if and when the day comes that I am no longer a minimalist
so excited to watch you build your book collection 🥰 I only read my kindle now but my bookcase is still my favourite thing in my house. once you start getting paperback books, you won’t stop 🤍
I LOVE that you’re buying the physical books too! At the beginning of the year I was reading physical books and I’ve read so many more since getting my kindle and one day I want to add all of the physical books to my shelf 🥹❤️
Love the book book idea. My dream is to have a library in my home with all of the books I’ve read. But you should definitely display them somewhere you can see them everyday. It would be so pretty
Totally feel you on the chicken and once it’s over cooked it’s over for me😂 I feel like you could benefit from getting a meat thermometer so that way you can be 100% it’s cooked by the Temperature and you don’t get nervous! It helped ease my anxiety about it for sure:)
Hi tara been a silent subscriber here and love watching your vlogs. I dont comment on vlogs often but cant help but recommend putting your treadmill somewhere more open, maybe over by your window area at the living area or maybe you can make a covered area by your porch. This is for your safety while running and also an open area/view will make your running more enjoyable 🥰
friendsgiving is always so special! it’s always so hard making it work for everyone’s schedule’s though. also, i seriously hate itching bites and an hour later having them be HUGE - gross. anyways, thank you for yet another lovely vlog tara ❤ side note: that foam sip at 1:14 was so asmr
You probably tossed the chicken by now BUT if you accidentally overcook it like that in the future, I use mine for soup! Lean into the overcook and slow cook it in broth or stock for a few hours and it'll turn into fall apart chicken deliciousness for a soup base!
A little hack for making the chicken super juicy and tasty - marinate it in a little bit of greek yogurt mixed with lemon juice - you will never get a rubber texture with this and it's the best tasting chicken ever
I got back into buying physical books. They just hit different. I am thankful that I also have an AMAZING used bookstore by me that I can get older and out of print books.
hey tara - if you're concerned about the rubber texture from overcooking, I suggest cooking boneless chicken thighs. They are hard to dry out from over doing it and are a lot more forgiving. Hope that helps!
I downloaded the books series, things we never got over and the other two (can’t remember the names) currently on the first book, I’m loving it so far. I’m 33% done
I believe I heard chicken can have a weird texture when it’s over cooked as well. You could also get a meat thermometer to help you make sure it’s fully cooked
So nice seeing you and Jill together! If you feel sick at all Re the bite, you might want to see a Dr. If it is a spider bite, they can make a person feel really sick. Re the chicken, it may have been overcooked which in my view, just makes it touch and maybe stringy, but it will be cooked and wouldn’t then be undercooked.
I'm a big fan of hard-copy books. Some day... many, many years from now you will look at the books you have read and loved and reread your favorites and it's awesome. Your mom "Don't google" 😆
Tara, for cooking chicken I highly recommend a meat thermometer…when it hits the right temp, you know it’s fully cooked! Also, just wondering if you’ve ever read a Kristin Hannah book? I thought of her book The Great Alone when you mentioned the one you’d read about a girl going to Alaska, as it is set in Alaska as well. Great book, great author IMO
Get a meat thermometer. Helps so much !! I always cook my meat 165 or a bit more ! Bug Bites sometimes require antibiotics depends Hope it feels better soon !! Happy Fall chilly in the AM here in Ma 😊
your vlogs bring me so much joy! I had a horrible day today and your energy and personality lifted up my spirit so easily! immediately all the negative energy was gone 😭🥹 and now my cheeks hurt from smiling so hard when u unboxed ur books!!! 🤭🤭 you looked so so cute next to them! I'm really happy for u and very excited to see ur next projects 🫶🏼 🤍💗💗📚
I did not want a kindle for the longest time because I just love reading physical books, but I read so fast that I finally convinced myself that it would just be more practical to get one. So, now I do the same thing. I read on my kindle, but if I read something that I really enjoy, I buy the physical copy to have on my bookshelf.
You can always salvage overcooked chicken that’s tough and rubbery by chopping it up and turning it into chicken salad with mayonnaise! If you let that sit prepped in the fridge for a good few hours at least (best if made the night before eating), it’ll turn soft and delicious again!
But rule of thumb - to avoid overcooked chicken, just ensure the fattest centre of the chicken breast is cooked to no more than 165 degrees fahrenheit. At that temp, the chicken is more than enough cooked to be safe to eat, and it will keep it’s tenderness! :)
I'm doing the same thing with all of my books I've read on kindle. Buying the physical copies just to have and also to keep track I. Person of how many I've read.
one thing to try that I love doing with chicken, when you put it on the tin foil, wrap it up. it keeps the steam in an soo tender. I have this seasoning I get from the $ tree. pepper and garlic. that is it!
