- This video presents how to prepare DSC samples using the 40 and 100 µL aluminum crucibles.
A wide range of materials can be run on the DSC for identification and characterization. In this case, sample preparation of a powder sample and a liquid suspension is demonstrated.
Sample preparation is easy and requires only small amounts of material. The technique is ideal for quality control, material develop¬ment and material research.
DSC is the most frequently used thermal analysis technique. Sample preparation is a critical step in the process of obtaining good results.

Hi, I would like how can preparate one sample of plastic for example PET For analysis on DSC?
Hi Maya,
Yes, PET can be measured with a DSC. Please use the tips from the video for your sample preparation.

Can I use insulation board for DSC to determine the heat capacity of the board?
It is possible to determine the heat capacity of an insulation board, but you
should not use more than a 40 μl sample.
@@METTLERTOLEDOLaboratory but our sample is about 270g. How can it determine the heat capacity for the whole 270g?
@@jenrubykim3529 Heat capacity output is per gram of material. Assuming homogenus heat capacity just multiply the output by your total sample size.
video is great, but the Loud music ruins the Video.
Thank you for your feedback!
깔대기 이름을 알수 있을까요,?
Hi, we just use a simple funnel.
