For the story with the cats and the wife: nta. If she reacted like this to cats who know no better, how would she react if your future babies mess up something of hers? And even if you don’t plan on having kids, this is still in no was normal or ok. It’s way too extreme to try to get rid of the cats and take it on her ego when you didn’t do what she wanted.

Midnight Oil was developed by Howard Stark in WWll (I think) he made it so soldiers wouldn't have to sleep. But it only amplified the symptoms of insomnia, mainly extreme agresion. They would get so aggressive that they would try to brutally kill everyone around them. Someone stole some of the gas (It was a gas named an oil) and unleashed it on a Russian camp trying to see what would happen, everyone died brutal deaths, mostly from getting terrible injuries (like having giant bites taken out of them or having their eyes gouged out) so they would have so strenth and then bleed out. The main villain of that season his brother died in that camp and that led him to want to use this gas to ruin the reputation and sanity of Howard, by releasing it in time square on VE day 1946. TL: DR It's a gas that makes everyone savagely kill eachother.

Either way, the person giving the story sounds like a really nice person and I’m glad there’s people out there who actually care about things like this. I haven’t been diagnosed with anything because we can’t find a doctor, but I’ve showed signs of autism and I personally get really excited and happy when I talk about things I like, and sometimes people will shut me down. It feels really draining, so I appreciate this person understanding that this isn’t okay behavior and they’re not the asshole for standing up for Sandra. Sandra also sounds really fun to talk to
as an autistic person myself I would agree, I have some tics too from excitement and other things, and hyperfixation on my art. If I were treated the way Sandra was I would be a lot worse off.
