Yeah. I already knew some spoilers when I watched the canon DR let’s plays, but since I’m watching this as it airs, I’ll be in for a lot of suprises
They usually aren't this brutal with the executions... I'm just thankful it wasn't 10 or 15 questions instead of 5

Based on these comments, Teruko is going to be one of those characters the fandom is divided on, with some people liking her and some people hating her. I can personally see both sides to the feelings towards Teruko’s behavior. Maybe this is due to how Teruko acts so different compared to the typical protagonist. If anything, she acts more like an antagonist towards the group, but while also making some really good points.

If Teruko wasn’t the main character in this series, I bet that she would be the Byakuya/Nagito/Kokichi of this series.
I don't know how antagonistic she can be. All she did was being merciless and saying she wouldn't trust anyone ever again. But it doesn't seem like she will try to mess with the others. She will just isolate herself, probably. Which is ironic since Charles did the same and we all know what happened to him.
Showing the story through the viewpoint of a rouge, antagonistic character is certainly a unique concept!
She has Byakuya's, Fuyuhiko's and Kokichi's trust issues combined with Nagito's boderline god-complex; a psuedo fusion of their roles (albeit far more grounded and relatable than theirs).
I respect that and the more she's pushed to defend herself the more morally complicated our mc choices become

Arturo is also hostile in a similar manner, but neither of them is the POV character, hence why Teruko has much more potential than either of them.
I get why people were upset at Teruko, but I honestly don't blame her for snapping. Two of her close friends betrayed her and she almost died because of it. Plus, every single person at that trial was willing to vote her and get her killed even though she had solid evidence that she's not the killer. You can't get mad at her for being pissed.

Recovering from such a heavy betrayal of trust would be exceptionally difficult, but it's not entirely unfeasible.
Recall that Eden was willing to give Teruko a chance, and was willing to say as much even if it meant openly opposing everyone else's judgements.
As a result, she might just be the only person that can get through to Teruko, at least as things stand now.
Here's hoping she makes an effort and pulls Teruko back from the brink before one or both of them ends up dead or blackened.

let's not forget that someone willingly voted teruko (that probably furthur fueled her distrust) despite the evidence of min being a killer indicating a possible traitor the one who ordered teruko to be killed most likely i suspect it may have been whit and teruko's luck seems to be a black despair inducing one like in despair girls where there is black hope and white despair concepts in a way a more thorough handwriting analysis of the weapons list could have revealed him as the one who ordered it to compare to the back of the out of order sign order to kill teruko if it wasn't faded by the water
This is different! Usually our protagonist is the one who’s encouraging everyone to be friends and trust one another, so this is definitely an interesting twist!

Teruko is too realistic a character, I mean her 2 closest friends betrayed her so it's understandable why her attitude instead Makoto is a Gary Stue who blindly trusts everyone even after his "friends" killed his others friends
@@pollo4210 It really is understandable, Makoto is just too nice- a more realistic person would hold a grudge for being wrongly damned to execution while being innocent while they refuse to have a broader outlook and look at things from the beginning.

Teruko saying she hates them is her coping mechanism. She doesn't ACTUALLY hate them, but hating them makes things easier for her. You can see this during her hug with Min too.
She never said she hated anyone, though.
Just searched about being eaten by wolves. When talking about dreams, it means something about being under uncontrollable situation where someone's life being consumed bit by bit.

For what i think, Charles has the lower chance of becoming a killer, but he has big death flag ( unless the victim died by poison or doesn't have any external injury, Charles will be useless in trial ) Teruko will get closer to the cast i think chapter 4-5. The fact that Xander motive is unknown made me think that will be relevant to the final plot ( like mastermind identity )
Yeh, or he could have faked his death and he's the mastermind like with what happened in... that one killing game
I object to Charles having death flags. I think he and whit are going to become a supporting role for Teruko
Personally I'm sold on who I think the next victim is. But I definitely think Charles will be an active participant at least once (or die in a non-bloody manner to tease everyone)

Alas, dialogue quality seems to be the one serious weak-point for this series...
Even if hypocrisy weren't an issue, some of the characters' lines are needlessly stretched out, with weirdly technical word choices.
And then there's stuff like this:
Min: "If I get executed...I'm going to die."
Ladies and gentlemen, witness as the Ultimate Student finally connects the dots, realising that execution = death!
@@finaldusk1821 I think that line was good to be honest, min was panicking and just saying whatever came to her mind. What came to her mind was "I'm going to die by execution"
Teruko is that one character you love to see in media but would fear in real life

One neat thing to note about Min being the one is how it highlights Xanders hipocrocies. When you first meet Xander he talks about how much he idolizes Hope's Peak.
Which I always found weird because Hope's Peak is a societal institution that only furthers the pressures on young children to work towards unmanageable goals at the cost of their own health. Probably no good for the child suicide rate either.
And this contradiction is brought to light when you and Xander have your first talk to Min and he argues with her about her life even though he idolizes the very system that encourages her lifestyle to begin with. So I find it very ironic that when Xander then commits the hipocracy of attempted murder it is Min who ends up bringing him to consequence.

The scene when she picked up the pen using her mouth broke me for real. Goddamn.
It's kinda sad if Teruko didn't make that mess in the kitchen or if Min decide to clean it earlier instead of procrastinating, Min could have avoided this. She tried to save Teruko, but ended up dooming herself. Also, great job with the Closing Argument showing who did it, unlike the canon Danganronpa games until they wait till the end to reveal who it is and well done on the animation.

@@BrndnProductions Honestly I wouldn’t be either. Min was one of the main ones refuting anything Teruko said. We also still don’t know Teruko’s past and by the looks of it betrayal is something that has happened before.

It’s sadder that what teruko said at the beginning of the series is true; her luck is a horrible curse, just like it (maybe) did in the past, it killed people she cared about. Her luck killed not only Xander but also got min executed
Possible spoilers:
Deeper Analysis for Min Jueng's Execution:
1. Ok, so it seems like some of the questions asked either have no "correct answer", or they cannot be answered literally (Meaning they are used to get an emotional reaction out of Min).
2. To elaborate, the Riemann hypothesis refers to a theory for what is basically a rule of math that can allow for mathematicians to easily find prime numbers and values. It is seen as one of the most important mathematical theories of our time (Figuring it out could ease calculations). But, it is only a theory and therefore has no applicable answer (Min writes N/A because there is literally no answer).
Extra Note: It may be important that one of the mathematicians who wanted to figure out this theory was named David Hilbert. It may be nothing, but he does share a first name with another one of the participants, David Chiem (Suspicious?).
3. The human renin-angiotensin system refers to renin, which basically converts itself into body chemicals responsible for the narrowing of blood vessels and management of blood pressure. Basically, it manages blood pressure and manages adrenal hormones. (This probably just references blood itself, as well as the adrenaline Min is feeling being in the middle of her own execution.)
Extra Note: This body process also causes sodium to be more absorbed in the body, which in turn allows more water to be absorbed in the body. (This might reference Min dumping water on Xander in order to more easily kill him.)
4. List 10 Reasons You Deserve to Live: Really just focuses on Min's desperation. Not really any deeper meaning. Although, the fact that this question requires such a long response which is impossible with the time limit shows how cruel this is.
5. The last question asks Min to write the name of the author of a novel called "Murder in the Calais Coach". It was written by Agatha Christie, who is literally regarded as the best-selling author of all time! The book is also known as "Murder on the Orient Express". The book depicts a detective trapped on a train which has been forced to stop due to snowy weather. This train contains 16 passengers (We have a cast of 16 Ultimates). A murder occurs on the train, with the victim having been stabbed to death (Min did stab Xander). Also, the prime suspect is a woman who was seen walking around with a red kimono on near where the victim died (Min did use her coat to help hide her murder, she used clothing as a means to hide her crime and identity as a blackened). The book also puts importance on a piece of paper that has been destroyed (similar to our crime-scene).
This story even has more similarities to the story. All of the people on the train are somewhat notable or successful individuals (Similar to the Ultimates).
Extra Note: The big plot twist of the story is that everyone had something to do with the murder, and the motive. This includes the protagonist. Maybe all of the cast in this story have some larger connections to this killing game? (Why were they specifically chosen?)
This was all figured out with some research, but really just for fun! Some of it may be clues or maybe it's all just coincidences! Whatever the case, hope this info helps give everyone a little bit of info regarded what might be the bigger themes behind this execution.

Oh my god that’s so awful. She tried so hard to survive and it didn’t do anything. And the glimpses of what’s behind her bangs made this so much more painful to watch. This execution literally made me want to puke. 🤢

I feel like people are giving Teruko way too much shit. She has a realistic reaction to everyone essentially trying to kill her at the start of the trial, and was correct in saying that she’s the main reason they found the truth. However, she is SUPPOSED to be flawed and hypocritical. Her bad experiences with Xander and Min shut her off to people who would never treat her like that (AKA Eden).
Anyhow, I think it’s clear Teruko is no longer the protagonist, or at least, the person we’re gonna follow. I mean, it could happen, but I feel like it’s much too daunting a task to make that even remotely interesting to watch for 5(?) more chapters. No matter what happens, I can’t wait for more.
However, if there was a new POV, I’d put my money on Eden, Whit, or Nico.
I actually think we’re going to have two protagonists David and Teruko. I mean think about it Min had a small ahoge, and David and Teruko have similar ahoges something is going on here.
And here’s what I think will happen:
Because Teruko will likely not talk to anyone (maybe Eden, I really hope she learns to trust people again and get some therapy, everyone x therapy), we will only have her pov sometimes.
But with David we will have his POV most of the time, because we obviously can’t have a protagonist that won’t talk to anyone in a very character driven setting(not saying that’s impossible but with Teruko probably will). Not only that but looking in the prologue and ending of the trial he isn’t all happy like he wants people to think he is, so well he would act super happy, and motivational to people around him we can see what he actually thinks in his mind.
I mean unless they did a twist where the real protagonist doesn’t have a ahoge, I think this is most likely. At least in my opinion.
I hope Teruko is still the protagonist. She's pretty interesting. If there was a protagonist change, I think only David and Rose would be competent enough to carry trials. David gives more protag vibes, though he also is the most likely character to have written the "kill Teruko" letter, so I'm not sure if he will change.
The only problem with Teruko remaining a protag is that if she shuts herself away from everyone then we will not be able to follow what happens to other characters. I bet Whit and Eden will try to interact with her in the next chapter.

Also just to add on I think Teruko may be the antagonist of this fangan, I mean from what we can tell from this episode when Min hugged Teruko it seemed that Teruko still cared for Min when we read her thoughts despite what she says, and add that to after Min’s death she acts like she doesn’t care for anyone and that trusting anyone will just get her hurt, but when Min hugged her her thoughts were that it would get her and Min hurt if she showed she cared. So idk about you but to me this seems like a great base for a antagonist that’s afraid to get attached to anyone because it will get them and the people they care about hurt.
Not only that but I think though Teruko is mad at 95% of the cast for saying she’s the murdered Xander I think she still cares for most of them but, is rightfully mad at them.
So basically she’s a antagonist that’s a protagonist that’s mad at most of the cast, but still cares about them but is afraid to get close to them because it for her always ends up hurting her and the people she cares about.
Also I think in the future she’ll try to find a way out, and find the mastermind but by herself, so she may create a plan that no one knows about (except maybe Eden).
I know this is a far reach but could be possible. Though I’m not 100% sure this would happen.

Here's some of my reactions as the episode went down:
- the execution was super super creative and visually gorgeous, seriously the animation in this series is fantastic (and brutal holy wow)
- Teruko absolutely snapping is a fun and honestly great twist, excited to see how that will affect things like daily life going forward
- Really interested to see what Teruko was going to say at the end there, hope we'll find out eventually
- The fact that Teruko got two votes is interesting, probably whoever wrote the note to kill her, my best guess is David

I saw somewhere in the comments that the two people who voted for Teruko may be Min and herself. Before the execution, Teruko did wanted to tell Min something and it was probably that she voted for herself instead of voting for Min.
I agree with the David part, I’m pretty sure he’s the mastermind. He could’ve told Xander to kill Teruko during their exploration of the school at the start of chapter 1
I also think it was David, since he acted so suspicious (I even thought he was the culprit but I was wrong) he might be the one who taught Xander to kill Teruko.
People are judging Teruko's actions, but let's be honest, who wouldn't be in that state being betrayed twice by their "supposed" friends

Personally I don’t think I could be that mad at Min if I was the protagonist, I think it’s because I’m just a lot more sympathetic. Even with Xander I might be really mad but I would question why he tried to kill me a lot more. Idk I just feel like I’m not that harsh on people even when I should be

I’ll analyze why it was so brutal.
1. Question: Since she did it easily, she thought the questions would be easy. This is quite the hope that is so despair can be born.
2. Question: She didn’t know the answer, so that is the despair that sunk from hope.
3. Question: She realized there was no time left, which made her panic. Also, loss of blood causes malfunctioning in the brain, ALSO monoTV was mocking her.

Omg Teruko is such a unique and interesting protagonist. The usual type would’ve probably forgave and hugged Min back, but Teruko did the complete opposite. She’s a lot more realistic and I understand her frustration. I’m glad she’s not some bland one-sided character who has hope 24/7, especially when put in a literal killing game. Also, props to the team for finishing chapter 1! Everything was better than anticipated and I’m so excited for what’s to come! 💜

Perfect chapter ending. Literally textbook how to do a chapter one end.
The execution was... dude. That was despair man. Min even was made to believe she had a chance to live. Her crying into teruko is what made the execution worse. I literally can't think of any way to make that whole sequence better. It was perfect.
The post execution was great too! Teruko not trusting anyone from here on is exactly what would happen, nothing here is OOC.
So far, this post trial is better than the chapter ones in the danganronpa main games. I mean it. Even V3 wasn't as good. You gave the right amount of despair. Congratulations, the bar is raised too high
Congratulations on completing Chapter 1! It's a huge milestone, and you should be proud of yourself! This trial was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, and I hate that I got attached to Min after it was revealed that she was the killer. The raw emotion from Teruko and Min was so well-written and heartbreaking, and I genuinely teared up when Min was hugging Teruko and her inner monologue showed how painful this was for Teruko too. Huge props to Estey and Ari for their powerful, emotional voice acting! The execution was also quite well-made. Overall, this project has been amazing so far. Thank you very much for creating Despair Time!

Props to whoever decided to draw the closing argument with Min instead of the "grey blackened guy".
I do understand why the original devs went with that approach, and there's no denying that they put some really fun spins on it (namely DR2 chapter 5 and DRV3 chapter 6).
However it takes away a lot of the personality from the character by stripping them down (no pun intended) to a bland avatar with no defining features.
Showing Min's expressions and movements in proper form helped make this comic that much more of a gut punch!
As always, this Fangan's strongest element is its artwork and animations; your visual impacts are second to none, and you've delivered once again with a stellar closing argument!

I agree with that. It's better if we see the characters the way they are. I hope the director eventually uses naked gray man's expressions too.
I miss the animation where naked gray man is revealed at the end of the segment, but it's worth it.
My analysis on Min.
Character: I do like however that min's character is more hidden than straight in your face.
like the thing with her view that mistakes can be fixed and that you can become almost flawless
and when she can't fix something like for example killing xander accidentaly, she's denying it and saying it doesn't count because it's unfixable.
What led to her downfall: she was overthinking too much
she was fixated on frame Teruko that she accidentally had made too many different ways to frame Teruko, that it would have been impossible for only those 2 to do.
which ended in them figuring out that there was a 3rd party involved because Teruko killing Xander because "first trial episode"
She could've framed Teruko for electrocuting Xander but she instead stabbed him.
She had thought of too many ways to frame Teruko as the culprit that she accidentally forgot to stick to one thing which led to them figuring it out as I stated before.

7:23 “List 10 reasons for why you don’t deserve to die.” The irony in this is that both of her choices in this context were awful, if she somehow listed why in that short of a time, she’d lose any sort of hope she had before, and if she didn’t write anything, it would cause her even more tremendous pain. And the worst part is that when it asked the question, “List 10 reasons why you don’t deserve to die.” With her last bit of strength, she tried to write out the words, “I do.” In cursive, it’s so heartbreaking. She did deserve to live. And she didn’t want to give them the satisfaction of trying to play along, yet she couldn’t physically bring herself to write anything more than, “I do.” I think this is a metaphor for her mentality, she knows that she deserves to live. But she cannot physically make the effort to tell people that. And any reason she writes wouldn’t be enough, so her writing “I do.” Signifies her quick problem fixing skills, by making a statement that can be applied to any aspect of her life. But it was illegible, and so too was her motive towards killing Xander, in MonoTV’s eyes.
Dude, I just hope Teruko don't get replaced as the protagonist.

People either loving or hating Teruko after this, I’m a little of both. I can understand why she’d feel this way (two of her friends betrayed her) and it definitely makes her an interesting character and different protagonist from the others but at the same time it doesn’t sit right with me that she’d act so cold and without sympathy to the dead. I agree that this is probably a coping mechanism so no one gets close to her and I hope as the series progress she grows out of it.
Exactly my thoughts. On one hand: justified, realistic and a different dynamic. On the other, unlikeable and merciless, especially knowing that it was her talent that caused the situation to happen, which I feel like she should have been more sympathetic to Min knowing that.
I wonder what her execution is gonna be like.R.I.P min....Also R.I.P to Charles cause he is gonna have a breakdown again once he sees the execution...

I had a thought. What if she gets attacked by something from a wide variety of school subjects, like for Literacy she gets stabbed with a pencil, science she gets acid spilled on her, history, a sword, etc... then for maths, she gets “divided”.

Honestly I'm so excited for the rest of the chapters because Teruko's reaction is completely valid. I too would be pissed if everyone was so quick to write me off as a killer and got betrayed by two "friends". And then for everyone to be like "how cruel" as if they didn't know an execution was gonna happen from their voting. Teruko really said they can take their shallow words and shove it. Maybe she'll warm up to others in the future but I love this version of Teruko, definitely feels like a realistic response to being tossed into a random killing game. This fan series is already so different from the main series, I have no idea what's gonna happen next and I love it!!

yep, that's about what i gleaned from the previous parts of the trial. Teruko isn't mean and cruel to them because that's just her personality, she does it because that's her coping mechanism. the universe conspires to put her in life threatening situations, and then makes the people she cares about happen to save them, probably harming them in some way at least, whether it be death or a jail sentence. so she pushes herself away from people, trying not to get attached because deep down she always knows that something horrible will happen to them because of her. I cant imagine trying to deal with all that guilt
She says she's the Ultimate Unlucky Student. She's not unlucky because she often gets hurt, she's unlucky because those AROUND her often get hurt
honestly, though I really love her entire personality and those funny no nonsense comments she makes, she's probably one of the saddest danganronpa characters to date. guilt is such a strong soul eating emotion, and pair that with absolutly nothing to do about it and literal fate actively working against you, that is the DEFINITION of a living hell

Hey, just thought of something to disprove a theory. Someone said that perhaps the note saying “kill teruko tawaki” was from when Xander got David’s autograph... but Xander never did. He didn’t even bring it up afterwards, and David walked away. Just a thought
David has been the most suspicious from the start. He was closest to Xander, was adamant about Teruko being the murderer despite evidence, and he was chilling in the laundry room for 2 hrs doing God knows what and nobody questioned him about it. Laundry room is the new bathroom for me. 😆

Welp. There goes one of my favorites already. Typical Danganronpa, amirite.
Props for that execution. The comments alone make it clear that it succeeded in making a strong emotional impact through sheer cruelty. And Min desperately clinging to life by grabbing the pen with her mouth despite the pain of losing her arms... That personally got to me, not gonna lie. It's just like how she couldn't let go of Teruko, as if that embrace was the one last thing keeping her fate from being sealed.
In the end, the case as a whole has a few issues here and there, but the overall intention behind it definitely got through. And for a fangan, I want to say this is what matters above all else. Good job!
As cruel as Teruko's behavior was, you can't exactly blame her for going somewhat crazy. Two for the people she was closest with tried to either kill or frame her, and did so to save themselves. In a situation where its kill or be killed, it'd make sense why she feels like she wouldn't trust anyone, nor feel any sympathy for Xander, after he tried to kill her, and Min, who saves her on instinct only to try and pin the blame on Teruko later. If that wasn't bad enough, around the beginning of the trial, everyone was thinking of pinning the crime on Teruko right off the bat without so much as thinking or analyzing the evidence surrounding the crime, considering the possibility that she's NOT the killer, and almost got both herself and everyone else but Min executed. Yeah, suffice to say, though Teruko seems to have gone a bit cuckoo, her situation and feelings are awfully more realistic than you think when compared to other Danganronpa protagonists.
Though Hajime may seem more realistic than the other main series protagonists, he was still hoping and believing that everything would be all right and that no one else would murder after each trial had passed. Though Hajime was more blunt and honest about the situation, and taking almost no shit from the people around him, he still felt like somewhat of a meek pushover just as Makoto and Shuichi.
In the case of Teruko, she's FAR more blunt, doesn't take anyone's shit at all, not afraid to call people out on their flaws or being selfish, and had cracked in the most realistic, if not scary, way possible. As much as I kind of want to give Teruko a hug right now, I don't think she'd accept that. Especially considering that she appears to have had both an unlucky and rough past before becoming a Hope's Peak Student, getting injured numerous times, and practically having little to no one to call friends until she met Xander. And what did he try to do? Outright murder her, that's what! In conclusion, it makes perfect sense why she doesn't feel any sympathy for either him or Min, as she tried to pin the murder on her, as well as no longer feel the urge to trust anyone else or bother getting attached to them, as she's become paranoid enough to think that doing so will only put her in more danger, try to reshape the past, and so on.

This is why Teruko is my favourite protag. She's a stone cold bitch and she knows it. She's almost like Kokichi and Togami, twisted and cold and... it's refreshingly disturbing. We're so used to protagonists being social butterflies and friendly, that a protagonist like Teruko, whose more like the rival character, is brilliant. This makes me so glad to be part of the danganronpa and fangan community, because of creators like u, who reconstruct the predictable formula. It's amazing as both an observer and a fellow creator (even if I'm small)

According to his bio, David is actually pessimistic/cynical so tbh I found it odd that he had hope on the first place so I assumed he was faking it and putting on a facade since his real self is said to be different from his online's persona. Everytime he said "I believe in you" I assumed he was faking it and was trying to manipulate the others.

Teruko literally popped off and i am LIVING for it. She tried to be nice to everyone during the chapter and they in the end would not even give her a chance when trying to defend themselves. She literally saved their lives and got betrayed by TWO of her friends. n e ways that's interesting, she's not devoid of care as we saw but it seems she selfishly chose to care the least about Min's death rather than comfort her in her last moments. Selfishness is refreshing on good people (she is a good person, she wouldnt hurt anyone for no reason, she has those for being the center of the blame early on in the trial and generally getting betrayed at every single corner. I don't know how that survivor cast is lookin like right now but Teruko really be a 50/50. Eager to see what her revenge will be or if she's just gonna call it done and live her life by herself.

I get why some people might hate Teruko, but she's literally one of the most unique protagonists, she isn't like those "just believe in hope!" like I actually love her so much and she has a reason for being like this, she was literally betrayed by someone she thought she could trust the most, she's probably the most realistic protagonist I've seen

Yes Teruko has her right to be mad but some of the things she said/did were harsh, especially since she doesn’t know the full story. Teruko may have a good reason for acting up but that doesn’t make her words ok.
But to the people who think Teruko is an unforgivable monster keep in mind Teruko someone who already has trust+ abandonment issues has just been betrayed and had pretty much everyone see her as a murderer. Teruko probably didn’t even fully mean a lot of the things she said about Xander+Min a lot of it being pent up anger and stress that she’s probably held on to for years that she targeted on the two. I do find teruko to be quite fascinating. Initially her reactions are incredibly mean and they make her slightly less likable, but upon understanding her reason and wish to not be hurt, I can’t blame her. Hell, I can even see a sense of relatability in it.

Damn.. Min deserved better than this, even though Xander and her tried to frame Teruko, but Min was in the wrong place and wrong time. Also, I feel like Teruko is not even human at this point, since she has major trust issues, and possibly be even heartless. For the antagonist/mastermind, I’m hedging my bets towards Arei being the antagonist and David being the mastermind.
In my opinion I think we will have a protagonist as a antagonist, meaning that Teruko will be the antagonist well we will have David as a second protagonist(Min, David, and Teruko all had ahoges, seems a little sus if you ask me).
Davids certainly suspicious as a potential masternind for the fact that the closeness he got with Xander could be possible he made the note for Xander to kill Teruko. I also feel Teruko has potential to be the mastermind, not just antagonist, the killing could revolve around her luck and fate, like i believe she tried killing her self at some point but fate stopped that so she could be trying to use that same fate/luck to start so they can discover her and finally die? Idk. Just a hunch, i also say with the animal themes Nico has potenial, monoTV based on an animal, and mins execution being finished with wolves makes me curious personally.

Welp, maybe I think I know why this chapter is called: Legend never dies.
The legend here is: "Teruko Tawaki, the Ultimate Lucky Student, cannot be killed, no matter what." Basically, I think that means that whatever: Teruko (?Suicide?) | Something (Accident / Random bad stuff / Disease) or Someone tries to end Teruko's life, her luck will keep her alive because of the actions of something or someone. She will keep Injuries of what tried to kill her (That's one of the reasons why she calls herself unlucky) but also because it would hurt someone easily by the consequences of her surviving (Involvement "Min's Case" | Hurting someone else "Badly" and probably leading to the death of someone else "Maybe the case of the red lady at the first seconds of Episode 6 is perhaps one of Teruko's Luck victim" -> Second reason she calls herself unlucky). And I think that this legend will "goes on" and she'll just keep surviving no matter what, so basically, don't mess with her or else.
And yes, I'M SO SAD IF THAT'S THE CASE THAT MIN JUST PASSED BY BECAUSE OF TERUKO'S LUCK "Like seriously, I don't think she would have survived if Min didn't end Xander's life.)

Well whether or not that's true, that still means that Teruko blames herself for Min and Xander. Though I suspect it could also be that she's the mastermind and not even the audience knows it. Follow my line of reasoning for a second... say if she had knowledge of what happened in the first killing game, then she might be insane enough to believe that her luck and status would keep her alive. Though with that reasoning, she could also be the Ultimate Survivor.

I have a feeling that teruko is pushing people away not because she feels betrayed, but because she wants to keep them safe. She feels her luck is a danger and that Min and Xander fates are on her.

This fangan is really awesome and I like the trial. You don't have all the trial voiced, but you have CGs, the QTE sequence (with advanced animation) and the summary in manga that make up for it and that's without saying the presentation, the music, the twists, etc. This fangan is really good, I wish it was more recognize.

nah. i think he just has a storied past is all. he already said his talent was a recent thing, so my guess is he used to be in the mob or something similar and then ended up reforming himself. not everyone has to be some sort of twisty pretzel of a person.

To add on to Ventchaser, not only was he the first one to act aggressively to Mono TV (meaning him grabbing it) he also dodged the spears pretty quickly as well. (Granted, Teruko told him to get out of the way, but his reaction time was way too quick compared to a normal person.) Additionally, when he snapped at Ace during the trial, notice how he explicitly threatened death and was one of the first to do so. Also, this may not be important, but when they first met, Ace was already terrified of him.

Congratulations for finishing chapter 1! I'm really happy you made it this up. I'll be really excited for the next part, but of course you don't have to overwok yourself.
Regarding the actual episode:
-Min's execution was more horrific than I anticipated, it was fine.
-The person who wrote the letter tried to kill Teruko during the vote, but failed. I thought the subject would come up during the dialogue, but it didnd't.
-I wasn't expecting David to lose hope at this point, but it makes perfect sense with what we know from him.
-Levi barely reacted to the execution. I bet he is used to corpses. He may be revealed as the chapter 2 serial killer.
-Whit also barely seemed to care about Min. Is he hiding something?
-I was expecting Teruko to be merciless torwards Min, but I wasn't expecting her to feel bad deep inside. I'm a bit annoyed by the fact that Teruko now holds a grudge against everyone despite Eden always being on her side. I hope they reconcile. On the other hand, it was satisfying having her point out that she carried everyone during the trial. Also, she acted like an hypocrite. She said she owed nothing to Min because "she didn't act on her own will, it was only fate", but then she said Min deserved to die for "deciding to kill". I assume this is intentional and it's an excuse she makes up so she doesn't feel bad. I wish someone called her out on it though.
-Xander's vote count was displayed as "N/A" instead of "0". If that means he wasn't votable, then we can finally be sure there will no be a suicide in this fangan. If there is, the characters should be smart enough to notice it and vote the victim, though that obviously won't happen.

@@thomasedison5453 If the note was written by a student, David is the most suspicious. Though his reaction in the end made him slightly less suspicious. I don't think Levi came from a killing game. His bio mentioned he had a shady past, and his custom weapon are brass knuckles. I believe he probably had a connection with a gang or something.

This is sort of unrelated to this episode, but I think the red-haired girl and the unspecified "he" (her brother perhaps? I don't know) are friends who somehow betrayed Teruko's trust and ended up dead. If you look back to episode 1 she says she lost something about the only two people she cared about (I'm going to assume one of the two is the red-haired girl) and that she is begging for them to come back. She also avoided Charles' question about whether or not she'd ever seen a dead body. Teruko also mentioned that the girl wanted to help her. So I think that both of her friends in her memories somehow betrayed her trust or something, and Teruko blames herself and her curse for it.

It’s scaring me how Teruko is straight up cold towards Min. It made me sad, but it’s somewhat understandable, *but* it’s somewhat bugging me. I’d still feel sad, because holy moly the execution is wild, and Min had to go through all that?
I feel like everyone is ignoring Teruko’s thoughts well Min was hugging her, It seems like Teruko is trying to push away everyone she cares about, so they don’t get hurt by her luck. Idk everyone is saying she’s mad at everyone and though I don’t doubt she’s a little bit mad and purely mad at Xander, I don’t think she hates them. I really think she’s trying to push them all away so she doesn’t get hurt, so she doesn’t hurt anyone.
How I think her luck works is that if something bad that treats her life happens to her then something good will happen to her to protect her, but who’s ever that is something bad happens to her(Min saves her, Min kill Xander by accident, Min dies).
Or how her luck works is that whenever her or someone else gets hurt, she gets lucky.(Xander hurts her, her luck helps her live)

I absolutely love Teruko, i've been craving for a protag that isn't a nobody that has no unique personality whatsoever, somehow a fangan was able to do this better than the main series, and it's absolutely amazing.
This fangan is one of the best right here, not only it has an amazing quality, and a cute, unique and funny mascot, but the characters aren't all "oh yeah, let's work together" while one is a dick, it's actually well-balanced, which is what I want to see, also their designs are pretty neat and unique too, I love them all.

Also, after seeing the entire class trial and reading some comments, I have some feedback. I felt it was kind of weird in the Closing Argument where it showed that Charles found the DVD at his door and went to play it. That wasn't explained in the class trial, so it sort of felt out of place. I think you could have a multiple-choice select or a Brain Drive type minigame with a question like "When did Charles stumble upon the crime scene?" or something similar.
Another thing is, I feel like you should use the phrase "the culprit" in the Closing Argument before the culprit's reveal. You don't have to, I just feel like it would make it more dramatic.
Again, you don't have to change anything, I'm just trying to give feedback! Thank you for your hard work and commitment put into this series!
@@dassinzx8975 I know we found out about that, but I don't think it was made clear when Charles stumbled upon the crime scene. At first I had assumed that he saw the body along with all the others after Veronika and Arturo told everyone about the body, and Xander placed the fake evidence right after he stabbed Teruko. It just wasn't made clear that Charles went to the computer room before Xander was killed, that's all. You could just cut out the part of the Closing Argument and it would still make sense.

It's kind of like Danganronpa 3's second trial, where in the Closing Argument it shows Kirumi hitting Ryoma from behind, knocking him out. It was just kind of there to move the murder along, and I think that could've been expanded upon.

Anyone else confused over how Xander couldn't see the light switch when the lights were on in the hallway? Seems like a huge oversight.

Yeah his case I think is very suspicious min does seem like she was hiding some stuff she couldn’t say beforehand but I do think Xander would’ve reacted faster instead of standing still and get water sprayed on him he had a lot of adrenaline which I think would make him quick to act also David definitely has more to this case than we believe it’s more likely that Xander might’ve been greeted by David got splashed on then lights happened
That or David might be hiding something else (maybe the note)

Hmmm...the more I think about it. Ok tinfoil hat time: tbh Ace's talent of jockey is maybe bogus. His real talent could be ultimate panic, fear inducer, dare I say despair? He's only gd at horse racing despite no practice because he transfers his own fear and anxiety via touch to the horse which in turn runs as fast as possible as if fearing for its own life. He did arm wrestle Xander thereby maybe transferring his irrational fear of Teruko to him thereby triggering a lengthy psychotic breakdown which made him all of a sudden want to stab Teruko despite us feeling there were subtle nuances of romance between the two? Xander himself was also confused as to why he did stab her...he was overcome with a bubbling sense of dread and despair that exploded into an act of homicide.

Man I don’t know how to feel towards Teruko. On one hand her feelings are completely justified, I would be upset too if one of my friends betrayed me, and another one of my friends did it again. Most importantly, she’s a very interesting protag.
But on the other hand, there’s a difference between being upset and being a dick about it and I feel like this leans more towards the latter. She didn’t have to tell Min that she deserved to die when she tried to save her, she didn’t have to laugh at her death, she didn’t have to treat the other participants like shit afterwards. Even Arei have more compassion than that.
Personally I’m actually the minority from what I’ve seen, I’m leaning more towards disliking her. She’s a good character and one I’m sure will be interesting to follow, but judging her as a person? That’s a different story entirely.
