The degree to which this track is a god-tier banger cannot be overstated, and this arrangement turned it up another 10% easily.

Dawntrail has some of Soken's best work overall, but man this one especially stood out for me
Vanguard sounds like it was arranged by Takafumi Imamura, not Soken. Soken never does the expansion dungeon themes tho he did compose Shaalouni theme which is where the melody comes from.
@@Cue-Ball. he didnt arrange it but he is still the supervisory over all the bgms. wont be surprised if he added his own little touches here and there into the song.
I'll be honest the whole expansion is "best work overall" everything has been raised at another level. Yeah ppl might say the story blablabla, but beside that, the musics, trials, dungeons, mechanics, refreshness, etc. it's amazing!
I don't know man... the music department has a really difficult time to disappoint anyone! Unlike the writers
Easily my fav song from this expansion. When it showed on the job action showcase my mind went wild wondering what could necesitate such a megaman x sounding soundtrack, so when I zoned in on the dungeon I knew it was going to be awesome.
Megaman X vibes never die and I am so glad we hear more of them
Mega Man X fans unite!! I had the same thought about the song when I saw the Job actions trailer.
Although I knew the song was gonna be for a Solution 9 related dungeon because earlier previews and concept art had shown that there will be a Solution 9 looking dungeon.

Vanguard is still my fav dungeon song this expansion. Just my opinion, but it beats A Long Fall for me.
I do find origenics kinda nice too. Gives a real sinister feel to it.
When i got to this dungeon, first words out of my mouth were "Ive found Husky's next metal arrangement."

I will forever remember this dungeon...a bunch of servers died at the same time and a ton of people got DC'd. I was in this dungeon when it happened. Healer dc'd...then tank and finally the other dps in the matter of a min of each other. I was the only one who didn't get booted. I just stayed in the dungeon alone grooving to this song until everyone spawned back in after 15 min haha
One of the best parts of this video is the joy on his face as he plays this, especially visible at times like @1:10

this track lodged itself in my brain so hard from the job action trailer that when i first went to Shaaloani and heard the melody I had a legitimate moment of "i know this melody already but dont know how" deja vu that didnt clear up until the dungeon itself
I haven't finished the MSQ yet but I'm so happy to hear this from you. Dude, this song was already perfect and you did what any good cover does. Mix things up a bit without losing what made the original amazing.

The Vanguard theme goes so hard. I love it, it's one of my favorite themes from Dawntrail. Also been trying to farm the gear from it, but it refuses to drop any of the tanking gear or the PLD weapon.
All I need is the aiming headpiece then I'll have that whole set for my dancer but it just won't drop aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
