technique is very much the same i learned in germany when becoming a farrier. Its resembling northern german / dutch shoing style. This guy is insanly good. 99.9 % i use premade shoes, (because making 4 shoes and shoe a horse would take at least 4 hours) but we had to do it this old way while learning, and i can tell you, this guy is doing this regularly, and he is Very good at it.
You can sure tell the difference in the quality of work done by a real pro, like this fellow, compared to a few of these other guys making videos now. I wouldn’t let some of them near the rocking horse outside the local Walgreens .
This man is a perfectionist with a good eye. My shoulder hurts just watching him….he must be accomplished student or instructor…well done, much respect..
At least you left most of the back of the frog open , not closed over by the shoe, so it will clean naturally, a lot of shoers close off the whole back of the frog , a great rock an debris holder !!
I find horseshoeing and bovine hoof trimming so fascinating and relaxing to watch. Every trimmer and farrier having their own techniques and what not. When I saw you upsetting the center of the shoe I thought it was to correct a walking issue. But very nice way of adding material to add clips
