I regret not giving her the credit she deserved when she was in Nightwish because I was so attached to Tarja. She's a beautiful singer and her music is really good. I'll keep listening to her music from now on.

They have very different styles, but I have favorites from both Tarja's and Anette's albums. A couple of years ago youtube started randomly playing The Ghost and the Reaper and when I realized who it was I was beside myself, I was so happy for Anette.
I recommend you listening to the albums she made with Alyson Avenue before Nightwish, and her projects with Russell Allen of Symphony X and her band The Dark Element with Jani Liimatainen ex Sonata Arctica.

I discovered The Dark Element at a particularly low point in life. I binged both albums and this woman's lyrics touched my damn heart. One of the most underrated lyricists in any genre.
You know what? Listening to Anette being so great doing exactly what many people accused her of not being good enough make me emotional. Such a great story of overcoming adversity and rising above all troubled situations. Love her

At this point, I think it's pretty safe to call Annette's time in Nightwish as her dress rehearsal. After she was rather unceremoniously booted from the band for numerous reasons, she only grown in leaps and bounds! Her songwriting, her confidence, her vocal strength, and the various artists she's been blessed to collaborate with have only helped to elevate her craft to the amazing level she's reaching now. This is probably my favorite song she's released yet. I can't wait to enjoy the rest of the album.

I've been her hater for years, now i can't live without her voice in Energetic Symphonic-Power Metal... When you replace an iconic singer, you have always haters, just like Ripper Owens replacing Rob Halford in Judas Priest or Blaze Bailey replacing Bruce Dickinson in Iron Maiden. And then, when you hear them outside the band you love, you say to yourself... damn they are good actually...
So glad to see Anette singing metal again! Her voice and all the emotion she puts on every song make her truly unique.

I think her years in Nightwish were some of their best stuff. Also, is it just me or is it nice to see a right side up cross dangling from her ear. In interviews she has said she is a Christian. I just really love her voice.

Anette as a Queen of Metal was something I have never imagined after she left Nightwish, and I am so glad that she embraced Symphonic Metal and made it her own.

She is decent singer, and I like her albums with NW, honestly I think Floor (was) best due to versatility, but I am not sure now because of whole solo things etc.... but the truth is Annete was just bad live.
To see Floor live is another lever, Tarja was not moving type :D but she has insane charisma a dramatic voice, but Annete was in some song purely terrible. Studio albums ok (and that is what I really care about) Annete is good, I like her voice, not as epic as Tarja or Floor, but I like her singing
@@pavolridrich3434 I don't agree at all about Anette live. To me, The Poet and the Pendulum in her performance is far better and more powerful than Floor's performance.
@@moviehipster3976 may be , is few songs, i personally like floor version mich more of pendulum. But even if song here or there was better with Annete, overall she was weakest live for all three, at least for me.
But maybe it is just me, because I am not really a big fan of female metal bands, with very few exceptions. NW, I used to like Battle Beast, of course Alize in Arch is insane, and thats basically it. I lovd Notre dame with Snowy , I love Experiment N.Q again with Snowy, but these are male and female, so it is different.

It is difficult to choose between: Once and Imaginaerum.
Dark Passion Play is an album not well appreciated, so dense, anger and dark, it is better now than when it was made.
I do believe those albums were nightwish best era musically talking, the lyrics, the rhythm, Marco... but I have to say those songs sound really great in Floors voice, at least while that first tour when she joined the band. I didn't dislike Annette's voice tho, being a nightwish fan since the beginning, i absolutely enjoy her era as much as Tarja's, bc i see Nightwish as Tuomas band, not the lead singers. And every single one of his compositions is marvelous. He creates inspired, among other things, based on their voices, that is why is not anticlimactic for me. The band has being great because of him not the girls nor Marco nor Anyone else.

I have never liked any of their vocalists, but musically these two albums were their best ones, without any doubt. Tarja is plaon boring and howling, Anette is kinda weird, and Fllor just yells at the mic like there is no mic. But Imaginareum was a veast of an album.

I remember when she was in Nightwish, all the hate she had to deal with, she didn't deserve it. All haters were so attached to Tarja and many of them knew a shit about singing, but I always loved her color and technique.

I got to appreciate the Rapture song. :) The lyrics are nice, the instrumentals are solid, and Anette's vocals are great! The choir did great too! The overall visuals are very nice, and I enjoyed the performances in music video! 👏👏👏👏

Well, I'm among those who don't feel exactly appealed by the subject matter… having said that, I dig completely this song, of the three singles so far, this is the best track
Music is amazing as the words can be powerful to some but sometimes mixed with certain sound can appeal to more. Music is so powerful and personally as a Christian I love how personal expression of faith in all different musical styles shows how faith can be beneficial expressed across a large spectrum of the world. Same for secular music too I love all forms of music regardless of musicians lifestyles.
