Make sure to open the flow, the small holes. When I first screwed it back in, I accidentally closed them, and it caused my bromine to be low.
I gotta check this cause my tabs are not dissolving. Don’t know what I’m looking for didn’t know it was adjustable.
@@R3dbudd did you figure it out?
@@tanjamomo7265 I checked and there’s no adjustment on the one for my Hawaii. Just open or closed. Seems to be breaking up better now. But still gotta shock it with a few tablespoons a week for it to show up on the test strip.
Came here to try and see if he showed the variable rate adjustment mentioned in another comment. He didn’t . If you rotate all the way to the right that would be Min. There are 3 more clicks with CCW rotation that would equate to Max rate.
Some ask how long jt takes to get required 4-6 ppm Bromide. Well if you just use these tablets, it could take several weeks!
Better method for Bromide Spa is to add Sodium Bromide (.5 oz per 100 gal) to establish the required reserve. Then shock/oxidize with bleach to get the actual bromulous acid that you want. The bromide tablets are an option to help maintain levels.
For shock (250-300G) it depends on your bleach concentration. Dont use scented or splashless formulations...just straight bleach. And shock once per week anyway.
5 1/4 % use 1 Cup
6% use 3/4 Cup
12 1/2 about 3/8 Cup
Yes, that is what the directions say!
Did you use any shock in this after you set it up ? Or did you just use the bromine tablets ? Any help would be appreciated if you use all the chemicals i see other videos using ty.
That’s what I was wondering too
What did you use to shock the hot tub after set up, any help would be great- I was told I need to use a non- chlorine oxidizer.
I was curious what do you put the setting at , more positive negative or in the middle for the chem device?
Do you take it out when using the hot tub? It says on the instructions remove the chemical dispenser from spa when the spa is in use.
The Coleman spa shown here is exactly the same as the Bestway Lay-Z-Spa sold in Australia. Must be re-branded or vice versa.
Bestway and coleman are the same brand
How does it release if the canister is completely sealed and the water that comes out if the filter doesnt actually go through it? After 3 days my chlorine reading is 0
I've had the same issue. On one video the guy shows how there are little holes on the side that control the flow, yet no matter what setting, my Bromine ins not indicating at all on the test.
It clearly has holes around it

What is the component above the bromine dispenser?
Thank you so much. Help me a lot.
As per label: "Before using this product...add 1/2 oz of sodium bromide per 100 gal of water to establish a 30ppm of bromide concentration" (repeat whenever the spa is drained and refilled). Obviously the bromine tabs do not come with the bromide pre-treatment. More $$$.
I can’t get the Alkaline & Ph down & ive added lots of space minus 🤷♀️
How often? do they dissolve completely?
Only about a few weeks. 3 weeks top depending how dirty your water gets.
Only this or other chimical?
Shock it once a week
with what??@@scottneely5602
