If I'm not mistaken there was a guy in California who got pulled over by the cops and fined for having one of these and they claimed the exhaust was too loud. They made him go and have the exhaust metered before he could drive it again but when they measured the car decibels they did it in the performance mode then claimed it was too loud. Basically dude got tied up in court for months and wasn't allowed to drive his new unmodified car anymore. Gotta love California

I’m a Hyundai technician. I will say that these cars are pretty nice. Hyundai is definitely starting to incorporate race design and data into their vehicles. I’m not saying they’re the best on the market, but it’s nice to see the direction they’re going.

Ive had many sports cars but this thing is a blast the Interior is dope and looks amazing at night with the ambient lighting. The stock exhuast notes hit right on the money. I had a Kia stinger GT. Great car, but it felt lifeless and heavy. The Elantra N feels like a baby corvette, it’s so planted and fun to throw in corners. Great car!

the N is a really great value if you didn’t care too much about AWD. This car is so underrated and can basically pull on any car that’s around the same hp range or even some cars with 50 more HP. I would def get this car if I didn’t need AWD for my daily. Im a ex GTI and Golf R owner, currently drives a Stinger GT.
I drove one of these and it does slide with the wet clutch DCT. It’s super fun and after I took it for a joyride, my friend sprayed water and the brakes were steaming hot.

"I'll throw in extended warranty", but then they make you pay for it anyways. Over break a sensor for a repair job, then makes you pay for the replacement sensor. Just a few times I got burned by several dealerships. Best to know how to wrench on your own car.

The Sentra SER from the early 90's is truly the best budget performance car. Sold for 16k when it came out and outperformed every other sports car in its league at its time.

@@2010ngojo used car prices are still pretty high. When I bought my Elantra N 4 months ago it was cheaper to buy new than used.
Before my Elantra I had Fiesta ST that got totaled and I got more from insurance than I paid for the car new, 6 years ago

So cool until it catches on fire, out of nowhere while you’re driving it, my friend had one, it was a 2020, and it caught on fire, it was their fault, they didn’t give him a new car, all they gave him was $10,000 in hush money to where he wouldn’t sue them. He drives a Toyota now.

The Sentra SER from the early 90's is truly the best budget performance car. Sold for 16k when it came out and outperformed every other sports car in its league at its time.
I'm not a Hyundai fan, but I got to say, they did a great job building that thing.
