Love these. I’m listening in hospital while getting treatment for leukaemia the funny stories are helping me
You’ll win this fight 👊🏻

Stay strong you’ve got this, god bless you
Celtic legend and the first 'British' player to win the Champions League with a foreign club. Two footed, classy, classy player
He is British. See: Geography, passport.
Lambert economical with the truth about Villa. He was happy enough to sign a new contract in the September and yet was delighted to be sacked 5 months later. We were delighted as well considering the abysmal run he had us on. 2 wins and 8 league goals in his last 21 games.
Stop crying - no one cares about villa
Despised at Ipswich. Somehow managed to get a 4 year extension on his contract when we expected him to be sacked. We're probably still paying his wages. A proper interview would have exposed his failures.
Villa fan here, 100 percent agree, dreadful manager, always slagging the fans off and always seemed to be bombing out players who could have helped him e.g Hutton, bent, Warnock
Did fantastically well at my team norwich but my god he's an angry, odd little man, being economical with the truth seems to be a personality trait of his
Agreed can’t believe how much time he was given at Villa. Glad we saw sense in the end.
what a podcast this is, well in lads! 🤩 xxx
Criminally underrated player
By who? He's one of the first names in most Celtic fans of a certain age's favourite XI
Only to English fans who only follow the Premier league
@@user-uh2qz1ec5mand Spanish fans who only follow La Liga 🤡
@@phil9582 who's speaks about him in that uefa cup team ? Giving the guy a compliment for how good he was , pipe down
Don't know about that.
No person I know regards Lambert as anything other than absolute top notch.
The goal he scored against Rangers at Celtic Park is my favourite Old Firm goal ever. What an absolute missile of a strike!
Fantastic podcast. Brilliant listening to him when he was playing. Played in that magical dortmund side. Brilliant
The silence after Parky saying about Mourinho being at Munich 😂
😂. I was trying figure it out myself.
He looks younger than he did when he managed Villa. Especially towards the end 🤣
He’s wise as an owl 🦉 you can’t help but respect lambert proper pro fukn winner
Love all the shows 💙 can’t even pick my fave. Is right lads 👍
Great podcast again guys, top man Lambert is. Hope you guys have plans for the Euros similar to the last world cup & Euro 2020
Wigan fan here. Wouldn’t swap the FA Cup win for survival. As he says, you play to win trophies. Not say you finished 17th 8 seasons on the bounce.
I can see why you wouldn't trade a wembley win, but the Wigan going down was a massive failure on Martinez's part, he rode his luck each season trying to get his backline to pass it around like they were Barcelona.
Fans want a trophy but clubs would prefer to finish 17th just for the money.
Up the tics
@@dubiouscaesar3709 agreed. Shaun Maloney is using the same tactics now. It’s boring. Most teams do it to be fair. Professional football is getting really boring.
@@michaelkelly1515 my team Coventry dropped loads of points the start of the the season trying to keep possession around the back, just cost us goals.
Love Paul Lambert. Celtic Legend!!!!! Smell the glove!!! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Brilliant pod as per gents!
Great podcast!
Would've loved to hear his opinion on David Raya who he had at Blackburn. And his opinion on Simeon Jackson who accelerated his managerial career.
The banter with Brown was great!
Great episode this one
We were delighted too - UTV
That game when he came back with them lot, was one of the best atmospheres I witnessed
1:33:44 Hahhahahaha John Parkin in another dimension 😂😂😂
its all the sweets he gets from sailor sids
He contributed nothing this episode...going on about Shaq being Fat too 😂 ffs.
Jon’s always in another dimension 😂😂😂
The puzzled silence man 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Strange how the pinnacle of his managerial career was back to back promotions and keeping NCFC in the prem, yet he said he should have left us after promotion. He's been toilet everywhere he's been since, and he only got the villa job based on what he did with us. Find it odd
Well realistically with that board and owners etc he isn't going to achieve anything more than a relegation battling prem side at best, the season he came up his stock will have been at its highest so makes sense in hindsight for him to have left while his stock was highest?
great interview
Paul reminds me of a younger Kenny Dalglish when he speaks
I may have missed it but he doesn't mention his brief stint as Blackburn Rovers manager .... he signed a 2 and a half year deal in November 2015, and then activated a release clause in his contract 6 months later, after keeping them up. It's one of a few instances of a Manager " sacking " a Club, rather than the other way round ....
Story of a Blackburn fans life.
Get a promising ambitious manager
Make promises like players for promotion.
Don’t meet said promises at all.
Part ways with ambitious manager.
Appoint manager to keep us up.
Repeat.
Met him when I was a teenager at Celtic park in the VIP for a league cup game. I was just a teen, he was either being rested/injured. "Mr Lambert can I have an autograph please" "Mr Lambert?? Thats the first time I've heard that off a Celtic supporter" then he signed the autograph. Later on me and my cousin were walking by and hes on the phone (rare in those days) and I could hear him say "That Bobby Petta is pure dead f*cken brilliant by the way". Haha what a player he was hes still underrated to this day. That Celtic team were the best I've seen in my lifetime and he was such an integral part of it. Thanks for everything you done for Celtic Paul.
Class Act with class player's at Celtic ,Rangers Liquidated, another 9 in a row ,Larrson ,Lubo, Mjalby Sutton..Hartson, fkn fantastic pal Hail Hail 🍀👍
@fugeestonner1321 hail hail it was a fantastic time to be a celtic fan. Its not so bad now either to be fair just wish we were a bit competitive in Europe like the O'Neill/Strachan teams.
Never a bad time to be a celtic fan buddy ....as the song says "over and over " ... lambo was unreal for celtic...hail hail paul @@dahsellsavon113
had to throw the subtitles on
Did ye aye?
i have to be honest i enjoyed that and tbf id forgotten how well he did at norwich still dont rate him as a manager but he came across well here : )
We were delighted too.
It’s nice of you to introduce him as a “champions league winner “ as he never mentions it himself!! 😂
Yeah you wouldn’t mention it if you’d won it at every opprtunity 😮

Really good episode. Thank you guys.
In Luanda Angola and this makes my day. HH Lambert
Best series yet. Phenomenal.
Love ya energy phil every video I'm laughing.
Legend 👑💯
He’s not being very honest in this interview.
He signed a new contract at Villa and knew exactly what he was walking in to.
Also he had the money to buy Kozak and Benteke but couldn’t sign Lukaku on loan? That sounds like BS.
Lads come on, us Barnsley fans are dying we need to know when the Adam hammill episode is out!!! Love this one tho!! Up the cosh
what a player he was baller

Paul comes across like a manager you would want to play for 👍
1:33:48 oh Parky don't ever change 😂
A Boyhood Rangers fan too. His dad still went to Ibrox right up until he signed with Celtic.
aye I remember seeing him in the Record saying it had pained him to give his season ticket at Ibrox and swap it for a seat at Parkhead to watch his boy!
His dad probably thinks of it as a lucky escape these days.
@@Bonnaci-G I disagree. Could never support a club that has such a dirty history
Not a word about his brief stint as Wolves manager either where the fans weren't really bothered by him going, the football was mostly dull and ineffective, bombed out players like Saiss who went on to become an integral part of Nunos team, used his contacts in the press to try and garner sympathy and support for him on his way out... A manager who dined out on the style of football his Norwich side played and who never ever replicated it anywhere else afterwards, certainly not at Wolves.
Without Helder Costa and Dave Edwards we'd have gone back down to League One that season
Great few years at Norwich, had players punching way above their weight
We go again paul
Starts at 3:27
Unbelievable podcast, unbelievable player, just unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable lol. Rolls-Royce of a player.
Another great episode, Lads!
Please please please get John Moncur on
Drew Jarvey was a class coach.
although to waste time while setting up a session he told us to do keepy uppy and i was still going when he was ready to start. he came over clapping then volleyed the ball miles away n told me to go get it 🤣
Unbelievable player!
Brilliant at Celtic
"If I want sacked?" The greatest one liner on the cosh.
Bit disappointed that there was no discussion about his time at Wycombe... made semi finals of the league cup with a league 2 club
Bruce Springsteen is looking well
Paul Lambert…. World class…and I enjoyed listening to his stories… TOP MAN.
His English is getting better too😂😂
David May, superstar!
Couldn’t wait to get out of Villa but didn’t have the decency to resign, Paul Lambert thinks he’s doing clubs a favour just being there- went weeks on end at Ipswich mentioning Dortmund and Celtic in every press interview while he presided over the worst team in Ipswich Town’s history.
Pathetic little man full of hot air, bullshit and bravado.
We were also delighted when we sacked you Paul !
The Germans said about him he's not a typical Scotsman "he doesn't drink and he doesn't give the ball away...."
I think as a manager he should have been better than he was but no doubt as a player he was class.
Shame he didn’t speak about Blackburn much
Not as delighted as me, Paul, you absolute fantasist.
Get Jono Greening on, he has a champions league winners medal. Currently managing Scarborough Athletic in National League North.
No
True, but Lambert started in central midfield against Zidane and co, Greening was kicking his heels on the bench. I think Lambert even provided the cross for the first goal in the final.
I met former St Mirren manager Alex Smith once. What an absolute gentleman. Lovely, lovely man.
Crazy if psv signed lambert, lambert would have no clue in world that’s cost him a champs league
Alan Hudson
Long gone are the days where villa managers are saying ‘thank fuck I was sacked’. No slight on Paul, other than his blindness in what was happening.
Didn’t you have David May on? He won it in 99
So we're we UTV

I like Paul Lambert as a person BUT just seeing him gives me flashbacks to awful, awful times for Aston Villa. If nothing else, he'll go down in history for being the bloke who coined the term "bomb squad".
Lambert performance v England play off Class Player
Get billy whitehurst on for God's shake
They darnt
@@albertrobinson4539 why
This man can clearly manage , possibly not got the people skills, who knows . All i know is that Paul Lambert is one of Scotland's greatest players . Not under rated , personal circumstances resulted in him returning to Scotland , not his ability 🏴✌️
One of the best ones this lads, f¥@king brilliant! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Liked him as a player & I remember anting dortmund to win the UCL but but of an arrogant man. Fancy saying he was glad about getting sacked from a job (and probably getting millions out of it) for doing a sh1t job (even if he got little financial backing - it didn’t stop him doing good jobs at Colchester & Norwich who had less backing). Sherwood came in & turned the club around & got the club to an FA cup final (even if they did go down the season after).
I bet Wes brown ends up on here champions league winner this podcast will get bigger with bigger stars every year but don’t forget your roots lads keep the old school coming Steve bull I’d like to see on here definitely Ian wright and Paul Merson
i hope he don’t. need more shit players to come on they have the real stories!!!!!!
@@lukegaric9905 that is my exact point lol
Cant have paul merson on crying about gambling and mental health mate hes been boring everyone to death for years about it now😂
Dean Saunders would be a brilliant guest
@@Rossboy2112 Apart from all the bs stories.
I always thought the season after he got us to the prem is the season delia should have sold the club
Ok so he was bored and disinterested in finishing mid-table with Norwich - and left to join Villa (in an earlier Interview he stated that Randy Lerner told him from day one that he would be under huge restrictions)..so his sole purpose at Villa was to avoid the drop. Then he says he views winning trophies as success but plays weakened teams constantly in cup competitions. He would not inspire me if I were a player. Mixed messages galore.
Absolute shit show of a manager … We were very happy to see the back of you mate 😂…… Jog On! UTV!
Some serious strong accent
Yeah. Lambert and Henrik Larsson did some interviews after a Celtic match in the old UEFA Cup and a pundit on Irish tv (Eamon Dunphy) said that Larsson spoke better English, lol.
@@TheLastAngryMan01 you'd miss Eamon Dunphy on the box though I don't have a TV anymore 😂
@@paulcolin9926 He still does a podcast with John Giles and a few others, called “The Stand”. It’s on UA-cam under the handle “Supreme Architect”.

Signed a new contract 2 years into his villa spell ,couldn't wait to leave? absolute mercenary and bullshitter.
Lambert claiming Dortmund were too strong for United, despite United absolutely dominating both legs.
Score line speaks volumes
@@TOMMYBHOY21 not really, as I said United dominated both games, Dortmund defended extremely well and nicked a goal out of nothing in both games. Credit to them.
"First Champions League winner on" Surely Stephen Warnock counts he played in the quarter final
You where never hopeless at Celtic, when you had a quiet game the opposition had an ineffective game. Season ticket holder whole time you where there.
