Horse Shelter Heroes - Episode 45 - November 6-12

- Опубліковано 11 лис 2020
- In this episode - Some of the Horse Shelter Heroes headed off to Wisconsin to meet with Pony Tales to see how they are doing 1 year after the Full Circle of Life grant, and finish filming the reality TV show Horse Rescue Heroes. Two horses were transferred to one of our adoption partners and will find forever loving homes soon. The weekly vet visits are always enjoyed by our staff due to Doc’s hilarious antics, and this visit was no exception. Then a pour-in pad was made special by our farrier for Storm, who has very tender feet. She is adjusting to them very well. If you enjoyed this episode of Horse Shelter Heroes, don’t forget to give us a like and subscribe to our UA-cam channel. Also, please share it with your friends and family!

This polymer hoof pad is the most awesome technology, I also love the polymer hoof correction shoes! Hoof care is so necessary and can be very expensive for owners to maintain; if the hoof is damaged, because of bacteria, fungus, wet ground, and debris. Neglected hoofs cause pain, limping, infections, and finally joint damage. I love all the new improvements. I hope more and more trucks will just pull up to surrender their horses if owners are unable to provide the necessary care that is needed, bypassing the auction altogether.
You guys are the greatest God bless
Wow Jason you are a beautiful pianist need to hear more of that and whatever secret instruments you play . You guys are awesome doing what you do and the vets and farriers are awesome too.tfs.😎
I fully support all the work you do and what you accomplish in the service of all the animals you help. I do have to smile though when you travel north in the winter and are cold. It is winter here. It is cold. Dress warmly. We do and somehow we survive. 😁
Best Vet ever
Minneapolis MN. Yeah. My home state. I’ve been binge watching your videos. Thank you for all you do .
You should play the piano for the horses, I hear music therapy is great for stressed animals. Love what you guys do, stay strong!
also for the human team! music therapy is great!
We have AngelReins stables in St. Augusta, MN. They have horse rescues they use for therapy for Veterans and woman who have been abused and used in trafficking. It is a wonderful organization.
Wow wasn't expecting a wee piano solo. What other secret life skills do the rest of the team have? Best wishes for Pippin's recovery.
Love what you do!!!. It was awesome to hear Jason playing the piano... love to see more !!!!!
I'd love to take a horse someday but Germany is so far away I wouldn't want the horse to have stress AND we have such organizations here too.
But that's not stopping me from donating and supporting :)
Sorry to hear Sarah has a rough time with her ears when flying. I have a similar affect on me. Tell her to try blow her nose, yawn, or chew gum just as the plane is pressurising and that may help ease her discomfort. You need to manually get your ears used to the air pressure. Hope this helps next time she has to fly. A trooper for still going though to help horses!
We have communicated with Pony tales Rescue a few times. I'm with a very small rescue in central Minnesota. This year we have been so overrun with rebuilding the ranch, COVID killing our ability to fundraise, and more than normal horses needing a soft landing and rehabilitation.
Hope this is helpful. The trick to clearing your ears is to do what scuba divers do and that is plug your nose with your fingers and blow as if blowing your nose. Also, waggle your jaw. You do this while ascendinng/descending.
You all you guys are doing a great job for the horse and on save ing the horse the people like That save the you are doing a great job for the horse Nannette
more piano please! what a multi-talented man xx
Good job and a great job Nannette
I love watching everything y’all do you guys and girls are heroes for equines and other animals just warms my heart
World horse rescue adopts out horses they rescue in Europe. They are good.
I miss Jessie and Sarah so much I watch reruns... You should see if the girls would visit sometime. That would be awesome.
What an awesome idea...copper sulfate in those pads! Wonder why nobody thot of that before?!
I’m from Green Bay and looks like you flew in there first to connect... anyways.... welcome to Wis-freezing-Consin !!! Hope you enjoyed ! I have and now it’s time to move to warm horse country of Ocala, Florida!
Doc is the best
Their farrier too !!
Poor little Pippin 😢😘
Nice farrier job!
Absolutely wonderful putting cushions on the horse's shoes... awesome guy's 👍👍🌈🌈🕊🕊🕊
Are you getting the counts you deserve/ expect? My thumbs up do not register any more. I dont want you to get short changed. I admire you all so much!
Pipin so cute
You can ask for two cups, with wet warm/hot cottons on the bottom. Keep those on your ears and the pressure will go away. Or just ear plugs before and during the flight ofc! Love the work you guys do, x from Holland
Always enjoy watching weekly updates. UK has a great Welfare program that provides regular support to those that would like to have rescues. They continue to stay in their trust so you are never alone no matter where you found your rescue within the system.
Australia has their own great rescue programs and race horse slaughter is a horrible issue in Melbourne & NSW with rules allowing yet Government retirement program announced never launched in NSW. AU 60 min had report in 2019, no change. Heart Breaking across the world. Breeders should be restricted on how many foals per year and winners should have a program for adoption instead of leaving up to jockey and breeders to manage.
I hope the team stay safe and well entering two of the major current hot spots for COVID in this video. So much suffering there.
I’d love to have an American mustang here in Australia but the cost involved would be out of my reach I love what you do and all the poor suffering horses ponies and donkey you save along with all the other lucky critters
The same happens here with out brumbies they also do a lot of aerial culling which is so horrendous thank you for all you do much love from Australia
You could save an Australian Brumby perhaps? They are different looking but just as sturdy for Australian conditions.x
@@onlymechick5767 they are perfectly adapted for our climate
Yes I do intend to get at least two in the very near future we are currently looking at some large properties so hopefully it will all fall into place and I can get them and a couple from the auction
The problem with brumbies is they're classed as a feral pest, which unfortunately they are hence the culling :(
Sorry I thought of this after I'd replied but Shepparton has a stock yard that I think 'and I stress think' horses are taken to be killed for meat. I remember reading an article ages ago about a horse that had won over a million dollars and it still ended up in Shepparton.
I use a Vick’s inhaler for my ears. Works great.
Love your masks
You are the best UA-cam channel ever thank I love to watch
You all are doing a great thing!!! An fundraising idea is a calender of the horses telling a little about them
Hey I live 5 mins away from Colfax WI! haha. You guys should’ve stopped by lol. 🤪
I use this on my horse but it’s called Durasole it strengthens the soul of the hoof so you could possibly try that. When used where gloves.
Wow! Play more piano for us 😁
I love seeing what you do for these poor horses!
all my horses are rescued from slaughter houses i think i purchased 30 horses and i rehomed 15 of them i still have nightmares
@Lilianna Borrego Hi. Wow. Who are you that you could rescue a 1,000 horses ?
@@susanbender2953 ikr 😂 no offense, but what Lilianna said is kind of hard to believe...
@Lilianna Borrego Do u mean all the horses u rescues in total in the past few years equal to 1000?
@@susanbender2953 I wonder does she mean she spent $10,000 and got 40 horses lol
@Lilianna Borrego very nice. So happy people like you are around to save these horses from slaughtering.
This year Wisconsin wasn't to cold in October it's getting chilli now and we have snow but it's not bad
I live here also and girl it’s always bad !!!! Winters are so long and this summer has been cold also. I’m out !!! Warm horse weather in Ocala sounds like the ticket for me !!
I hope you brought jackets because it’s winter in Minneapolis and it’s cold there . They get snow unlike Kentucky.
Wisconsin does not look super cold currently 😂 its currently -20 and frozen solid here in interior Alaska
Have you used the salt block with garlic? It helps with the flys
I like watching the vids you do they are so informative and helpful 👍 keep up the great work everyone, god bless you all x
For Sarah's ears, usually eating/drinking/yawning/chewing gum can help equalize the pressure, but if not pilots are taught a way to "force" the ears to pop - you close your mouth and plug your nose, then try to blow your nose hard and fast. Should hopefully pop the ears and reduce the pain.
Love you guys and all that you do!thank you!!❤
keep doing amazing things for these beautiful horses love your work :)
Thank you for such great videos. I have always been a horse lover and admire the dedication and commitment your staff make. With regards to ear trouble when flying I had been through every suggestion known to man with no relief until I was recommended nose drops, (available over the counter). Never looked back. They clear the Eustachian tube and therefore equalise the pressure. They even take away that 'fuzzy' feeling after getting off a plane. Good luck.
My ears hurt so bad on my first two flights...an attendant told me to close my mouth and hold my nose and blow out your ears...it worked!! Hope you get sone relief too!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Love you guys keep up the great work.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
November 6 was my birthday, give the horses some extra kisses for me!
Yayyy a new episode!!
Hello my dears
I have now seen a lot of your videos and I am thrilled, my heart is overflowing, for your work. You are doing a great job and I would like to support you a little. I can't donate that much right now, but I've set up a standing order for $ 5 a month for now. Let's see, maybe I can increase it soon. I hope the letter is reasonably legible, I had to translate it through google. Keep up the good work, you are great! Your Elke from Germany!
I live in Minnesota and let me tell you we have like 3 inches of snow and I rode my pony today and my toes were frozen 🥶 🥶🥶🥶🥶
I am from Wisconsin I love your videos❤️❤️
I can’t believe that you were in the same state that I live in
Do you mean there won’t be any more episodes of this series😱 Will you at the Horse Plus be filming and posting regularly anymore!? I don’t know what I’d do without seeing your amazing work!!!!!!
I would love to adopt ablack mustang mare but it will caost lots and lots of mony that i dont have i hope one day i can have her
You weren’t that far from me! Did you land at the HH Humphrey air port or at MPS/SP International? Love the work you do, would love it even more if there wasn’t a need. But alas, some people just shouldn’t have animals or children. Love all of you! ❤️❤️❤️
the next auction rescue your going to is the day after my birthday!!!
Ooooh a 737
I like your masks.
Sell those horse masks. I love them!
China buying up horses, possibly for live transport, i heard they were being shipped. China is buying up commodities everywhere. It would not be a good end for our horses. Great piano playing, so talented!
Sarah should be chewing gum n itll help with her ears. That's what the doctors always tell me for my kids!😁
Tell Sarah to get some Earplanes, they are ear plugs with a ceramix filter and they make a world of difference when you fly! I swear by them. Available at Walgreens, and most drug stores.
More piano music please!
Love your vids :)
I’ve also been wondering if you would fly horses to the uk. X
Just a thought, I know and understand that the mission is to save animals from slaughter and I understand, The Last Act of Kindness is a loving grace, desperately needed. My question is this, because of rising costs and hard times for many if you could organize a "loving surrender" pick-up place in a few central locations. The owners can't be receiving much money from the auction, for lame, malnourished, and sick equines, plus there are fees involved. Maybe you could offer a small reward? Just an idea, it may save many animals from months of abuse. It's a very proactive movement, but I believe there would be fewer deaths and a lot less suffering... if it could be a loving choice for pet and stock owners.
Thank you for this amazing work! I hope I can visit you once, I make documentaries about animal foundations :)
Where are y’all located? I’m looking to get a new horse or two for my sister and I and I think that a rescue horse is the perfect option
Well, tease. lol ... when will that episode happen?
yo could you do a barn tour..
plsss
😌😌😌
Are the horses you guys have free or do we have to pay?
I will give her a good how I just need to know where to fill out the papers
Are the horses rescued (from the people whos gonna sell them to slaughter) so that they are spared the journey to mexico, or simply because they are going to become meat? Im genuinely curious :) Its absolutely horrible the conditions they are in, but pigs and cows that are going to slaughter aren't much better tbh.
I think its both, but TBH it wouldn't be so bad for the horses if we opened slaughter houses in the US again. Because then we could have regulations like horses need X amount of trailer space, horses need food and water for journeys over X distance, horses who cant stand/walk aren't allowed to be shipped. Plus then we could use the meat and other products for animals (or maybe even people) which would lessen the amount of meat pigs/cows/sheep needed solely for animal food or production. Why not use the bodies if the horses are too far gone.
When you go to the Auction. It will be my dogs Birthday on the 17th
What does that have to do with horses?
@@mircat28 U don’t have to be Rude. Was just saying. Jesus
Do you rescue horses from the USA
Hi, they are in Tennessee, a USA state so you can expect all their horses are in the USA too.
Tell Sarah next time she flys chew on some gum that should help her ears👍
That’s true
That's what I do!
I absolutely HATE the saying “ it is what it is “ 😡🤬
Hate flying Delta, wife booked two trips one to London and a year later to Paris. Got screwed over by Delta both times and stranded in Paris for over 18 hours because of Delta. Finally threw a big enough fit they stuck us on a Air France flight (which was great plane so it all worked out) swear I won't fly Delta again maybe it's just my luck with Delta but I hated it every flight we did with them.
You guys are assume
What is the thumbs down???!!! Really???!!! How rude!!! How can you possably be so unsensitive?? These are wonderful people helping the horses that need desperatly help!! Watch something else thumbs down!!
My only question is .... when you get horses that are injured why don’t you try different surgeries with the money have made because I know you have the money to do everything, but I’ll I’ve seen is giving them not an other chance and just giving them sleepy goodbye medicine.
Honestly, that is so unfair. Many of these auction horses have had hard lives with a lot of pain. When they come with serious issues the last thing any of us would want is to put them through surgery requiring anesthesia with iffy outcomes. Unfortunately, it would also be a waste of money that could support multiple horses who have a chance of a GOOD LIFE. You are ignorant and rude. I think this team make really thought out and humane decisions everytime. I would trust all of them and who can you say that about these days?
@@annieladysmith before you start hating on me it was just a question and I love what they do and support it, it was just a simple question and on top of that I’ve rescued many horses for auctions and know the extent this organization goes to for the horses and before I donate to places I do research. Many things have come up. So I would recommend you do the same. In conclusion I was just wondering and didn’t need the hate from you. 😁
@@annieladysmith I don't think it was meant
every horse but not every one is an old
horse so on occasion one might be saved beyond basic vet care.
Also why are smaller horses adopted to oversized riders when they obviously should be riding a larger horse?
You are definitely mistaken, alli equine!
