dgd might be one of the hardest bands to "react" to. same with polyphia. their tracks need SO many listens to fully digest.
As a long time listener I couldn't agree more. There are a lot of their songs that I didn't appreciate at first that end up becoming my favorites

Ember probably isnt the best entry point for Dance Gavin Dance, if he is willing to give them another opportunity highly reccomend going for something like The Backwards Pumpkin Song, Uneasy Hearts Weigh the Most, Betrayed By the Game or Feels Bad Man or Synergy from this album depending on their music preferences
Open minded listening includes listening to the song using both ears dude. Sorry but you barely gave the song a chance by using one ear

Shame he didn't find a single thing to like about this song. You have to break a song down by vocals, instruments, construction of the chorus and bridges etc. This song chorus and guitar riffs are insane. talk about "edgy" i listen to Norwegian black metal like 90s and shit. I'd advise you to step outside your bubble like your friend and listen to a variety of bands my dude. Not to add race, but I'm a blk dude from the south lol. If I can branch out so can you.

Most of thier songs didnt hit me at first it isnt till later the melody’s in my head maybe an adhd thing i started on care, and count bassy.
Christian definitely needs both earbuds and needs to check out the older stuff.. but i mean DGD isnt for everyone. Love the fact Collin's a huge Slipknot fan and has become a dgd fan. 2 of my favorites.. been listening to both for over 15yrs
