Just stumbled upon this video, and i really like old youtube vibes of this video, everything just simple, as it should be. Just a dude intrested in something talking about it, no hyping or anything.
It won't happen. I offered to donate one but a dev told me that mediatek processors are notoriously hard to work on and it's not worth it. The manufacturers need to release the kernel or something.
I may purchase the Jelly Star, which I look at as a modern recreation of Nokia's ASHA. But I wish someone made a 4.5" to 4,7" phone, similar to what Nokia used to make, but with smaller bezels and an Audio Jack, it's really all I want. Our choices today are 6,3" or 6;7" inches. I think the Jelly Max, is too big, and has no Jack, thanks to Apple's BS, and everyone following them.
I only used mine for one day because I cant read the text its too small, I know the phone is small that why I bought it but i thought you would be able to make the text bigger. I put it on full size and the text is still tiny
That's fair. It's really enough for this phone. I didn't notice many performance issues other than when the phone was hot, connected to wireless android auto and trying to do stuff on the phone.
I still haven't figured out if this device can really work to discourage our brain from spending too much time in front of the screen. Thanks a lot for your reply. Anyway, great video.
anecdotally, i've had it for over a month, coming from an iphone 13 mini. my screen time was 6-8 hrs a day, and is now 1-2 hrs a day. there's definitely been a migration of that screen time from my phone to my laptop, but imo the time i spend on my laptop is typically more productive/educational than what i did on my phone. on a related note, a friend of mine spoke with someone who works at a screen time app company. that person said according to their user data, there's a strong correlation between larger device size and longer screen time - ie, the larger your device, the more likely you have longer screen times.
Funny, I bought the Cat S22 just before I discovered the Jelly Star. I ended up returning the S22 once I received my Jelly Star. iirc the lack of Android Auto was a dealbreaker with the Cat S22 for me

I am still using this since its launch. My only gripe is how terrible the gps.
I haven't noticed any GPS problems, but I'm always connected to android auto (which has it's own gps module)
Pray someone comes out with a custom rom for these things soon

This is a quite thick option but the Tank Mini is 4.5 inches
I love my jelly. Wish they'd just continue the updates.

Why is Amazon the only place you should buy it from? Thanks for the video!

Totally based PFP & channel name.
"A couple" means 2. The snapdragon 845 is almost 7 years old.
