It's time for some West Coast cruising! We're heading to Los Angeles and/or Long Beach for our first ever adventures to the Mexican Riviera and beyond... for the third and final leg of this trip, it's time for a "Sailabration" cruise aboard Carnival Panorama to celebrate Carnival's 50th Birthday. We sailed from March 5-12, 2022 on a 7-night itinerary with stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta... let's do this thing!

OMG, I just realized I also have THE ORANGE HAT. Looking at it right now, sitting on top of my bookshelf. Got it last cruise because I forgot mine. To be fair, it's slightly more coral than straight up orange ;) We're on the opposite direction itinerary, and will be in PV until I think 9? Back on board at 8:30 or so. We're doing Sunscape thanks to your video, and then heading down to the Romantic zone for a couple of hours to walk around and have dinner. PV looks beautiful with all the mountains as a back drop.

I will admit that I've never tried sushi but I can't imagine eating raw fish. More power to your both. That's why you're my hero's.
Some sushi has raw fish in it, but lots (shrimp roll, California roll, etc)) doesn't.

We are planning on going on the Panorama next February. The 3:30 pm sailing away from Puerto Vallarta looked like a deal breaker for us but I checked and see they went back to the old itinerary

Yes, ours was changed due to some of the impending birthday events, so ours was unique.

Jay, everywhere I go I do a spinny spin, if I go to the mall. I go to the supermarket I do a supermarket spin and whenever I'm in the hotel I always look for Henry.

I was looking forward to your Puerto Vallarta stop but disappointed you didn't take a walking tour of this very vibrant town! Hopefully you will go back on another journey.
We did more of the town-seeing on our first PV stop aboard Navigator. Figured we were due for a chill day on our second visit, hah!! :P

When I did a cruise to Italy I did the ship the ship tours which was more than 2 hours late every port. my dinner was the first sitting and they had to squeeze me in every night at the second sitting cuz I refuse to eat in the buffet.

I have recently found y’all’s channel and have been binge watching your videos! They’re always so fun but still informative! I do have some questions though, I’m trying to plan a cruise so for Mrs. Dee what’s the best place for snorkeling? I want to see a sea turtle ideally!! Also I heard she is a travel agent in a different video? Does she have any tips or tricks or could I even ideally book through her?? Y’all are definitely pros!
This doesn't look at all like port where we were! We walked off ship and headed to the right to get on tiny boat for excursion.
They have three side-by-side docks there in Puerto Vallarta, so you never really know exactly which one you’re going to be at.

Hey Jay we are trying to plan our cruise. First, loved the vlog! Second, did you book that resort through the ship or by yourself? Finally, how much was the excursion. Thank you in advance!
I think every resort day pass we've done, this one included, have been independent. You normally just roll up to the place and ask them for a day pass, or sometimes you can email the sales department to see if they'll hold a spot for you, then pay when you arrive. I forget the exact price on this one, but it's nooooormally like a $60-$70/pp day, I'd say. Worth it if you have a ton of time, since it's all the food, drinks, and everything you could want!! :P

People looove Hotel Maya, if you can get it. It's a little pricy, but it's right at the pier. Walking distance to the ship, kinda sorta. We stayed at a Renaissance property that Dee found a deal on, but it's not really cruise-oriented. No breakfast, no shuttle, that kind of thing.

The only difference between staying on the ship and going to a resort with closed beach for the day is $70 each and not really experiencing the port city. That's my view.
Fortunately, we got a fantastic in-depth taste of Puerto Vallarta the week before when we sailed Navigator Of The Seas! We were in the mood for a chill day with some drinks and fun for our second visit, and we found it at Sunscape!! :P
Do you get to keep the glow sticks?
Sure, if you like! They’re too big for us to pack so we normally leave them!! :P
Hello we are, going to panorama on the end of month were can i find the dinning coupons, before embarkation or at the ship?
On the ship. You should be able to buy them at any specialty restaurant, like we bought ours when we went to eat at Cucina.

how many hours is vallarta before they leave?
You’ll typically get about eight to nine hours in port, but ours was cut short due to the impending “sailabration” birthday meetup and festivities.
I was just onboard carnival conquest this weekend and was my first carnival cruise since 2016 I was completely disappointed with the food it was so bad in the buffet it was unedible. No selection at all and terrible. Main dining was ok at best. Totally way downhill thank God for guys burgers I survived on them. I will not be cruising with carnival anymore! So sad u used to love carnival but no more. Oh wait did I mention so many people smoking pot everywhere onbaord right out in the open no security gave a crap about it cleaning was also very minimal and tables were wiped off with dirty wet rags and left a smeared dirty color on then when dry
The overall buffet and MDR food quality has definitely gone down over the past few years with Carnival. We don’t really cruise them for food anymore, but the extras like burgers and burritos do help!! :P

how much should a PCR test cost?
We normally get ours for free at Walgreen’s if we need a PCR, so not entirely sure.
