Kent & East Sussex Railway '50th Anniversary Gala' 1st & 2nd June 2024

The Kent & East Sussex Railway celebrating their 50th anniversary since the re-opening of the line back in 1974, a gala event to celebrate the anniversary was held over the weekend of 1st & 2nd June 2024.
An amazing line up of locos in action over the two day with Southern Railway U Class No. 31806 (visiting from the Swanage Railway) and on-loan British Railways Standard Class 4MT No. 76017 joins alone side the railway home fleet including return to service of London, Brighton & South Coast Railway Class A1X 'Terrier' tank No. 2678 "Knowle" and two Hunslet locos Austerity No. 25 "Northiam" and No.15 "Hastings". But the biggest star of the gala was a visit of British Railways Standard Class 7 No. 70000 " Britannia" was running on the Robertsbridge to Northbridge Street shuttles with newly re-painted and named ex-British Rail Class 73 No. 73128 "Kent & East Sussex Railway".
