It's not only WORTH IT, it's one of the best options available... get a 4-emitter setup and the MX24 on a PC build, and you can't get any better. Any "lag" you're experiencing is due to the crappy Pandora box. Get rid of it and get a PC. Compared to Sindens, this solution tracks as well, has no distracting border, has guns that are better balanced with a nicer trigger action and plastic quality, and is much less expensive overall. I sold my Sindens for Retro Shooter and have no regrets!

I got a Retro Shooter with light guns and controllers. My set works like a charm and is more fun than my modern Xbox! I got it before they removed the games.

would be interested to know what difficulties you are talking about to add the games from their list on the SD card please? I’m in the RS community, I’ll buy it , the retroshooter team confirmed that all the system architecture (mapping, skrapping etc) was already configured , Except for games, of course. Can you confirm that there are no other long and laborious manipulations to undertake to add the lightguns sets. Thanks

If you can get your hands on the games as they used to come (either though a download or buying a ready-made SD card) then it's easy. If not, then you need to source roms on your own. Some of the difficulties come from the fact that the light gun games playable are very specific. For instance, it will play the PS1 version of Time Crisis, but not the arcade version. If you didn't know that and added the arcade version of TC and it didn't play you'd wonder why. Also, games need to go in specific folders. The light gun games need to be put in a folder called 'game
omsgun'. If you don't know what the file structure should be you might also have issues playing games (or at least they won't be in the right menu categories). It's why I also recommend the Retro Shooter community on facebook. I'm not the best at doing tutorials - but there are lots of people on there who can help with issues or getting the games you need.

There seem to be a lot of stutter during Crash Bandicoot. Are all PS games affected? How about MAME and DC games?

i just got one how do we get games on the computer to be able to use the retro shooter please help

    • @BillsRetroGamingShow
      @BillsRetroGamingShow  3 місяці тому

by computer - do you mean using it with a PC, or with the mini-console it comes with? If by PC, then I'd suggest looking up youtube tutorials on how to use the Retro Shooter with a PC (I'm not great at doing those types of tutorial videos). If you mean the mini-console, then I'd suggest joining the Retro Shooter Community on facebook and reading some of the posts there. You should find someone that can help you get games, either download to put on your own SD card, or to purchase an SD card ready to go.

It can play the PS1 version of Time Crisis and the Dreamcast version of House of the Dead 2. No House of the Dead 1.

    Bill,
I was excited for this system, because of community members I follow really liking it, but unfortunately, my dealings with the company and their bait and switch of what I ordered on the site vs what I got in email and delivered, I wouldn't recommend anyone buying a system from them. I did get one that had all the games, so that's a plus, but I found I can't play the lightgun games unless the room has all the lights turned off. I bought this system to go into an Arcade1Up Time Crisis cab with a full Buy Stuff Arcades kit, so it might work better in different lighting conditions with different sensors.
Suffice to say, if I do end up using this kit in my mod, I won't be endorsing the company in anyway. They're shady, and though I would never wish any company to lose their ability to add freely accessible roms on their system for the community's sake, a part of me thinks this is karma. Now I will say Retro Shooter did help me out when I first had issues with their system, so I'll give them props for that, but I don't like being swindled and would recommend people go elsewhere for a lightgun solution.
Regardless of how I feel about this company, your video was entertaining, so that's a plus :)
    Have a great one Bill!

I have read this twice so can you clarify for me what was the bait and switch?
I appreciate the clarification as I am considering buying from them in the near future for a different product.
      Thanks

No worries and thanks for reaching out. Here's what happened to me in better detail.
I went to the Retro Shooter site to order a kit and it came up with a default option with extra controllers, stuff I didn't want. So I manually changed it to the very basic kit with just the lightguns, sensors, and console. I also added the additional hub via a checkbox option in case the console didn't cut it and I wanted to upgrade to PC play. I completed the order and it showed exactly what I chose and the price.
Fast forward and I get the kit and it ends up being the default one with the extra controllers, the one I didn't want. It also came with different sensors than advertised (which they admitted later they did switch without notice) and it was missing the hub. I contacted them via email to see how we could resolve the issue, and their first email to me was dismissive simply saying "We sent you what you ordered," and provided a screenshot of the order, which was different than what I chose and what the site showed when I ordered. I reached out to them again to have them look at the issue closer, providing expanded information, and this is when I found out what the company was all about.
Their second email was a gaslight fest and incredibly rude. They made it clear that their site couldn't make a mistake and that it was my fault, and went so far as to talk down to me by providing pre-school instructions on how one makes an order, "You have to physically pick the package you want, enter your information and click buy," like I somehow couldn't grasp how an order process works. They also asked me to check the automatic email their site sends when an order is placed, which I didn't think to check at the time as the site showed what I ordered. Suffice it to say, the automated email also showed the incorrect kit, the one they sent me.
They then proceeded to passive aggressively propose that I might think they could somehow manipulate an order (or their system could), which none of my correspondence even suggests, nor in the slightest way could be interpreted like that. They continued further by listing all the ways they weren't going to help me, how they didn't do exchanges and how I couldn't send the lightguns back to China. Who the heck would even think to send anything back to China, or even have a thought like that cross their mind? I certainly didn't. They basically took this second email to me as an opportunity to put words into my mouth and make it sound like I was trying to shake them down for a $40 part (the hub). Seriously? I politely let them know that I didn't want anything more from them and suggested that they treat future customers better than they did me.
Now, I'm in no way suggesting I could never make an mistake, but to not even check the system to see if something might have gone wrong at the time I ordered, looking at logs or something, even if it didn't turn out in my favor, would've been at least the bare minimum of customer service and not make the whole thing feel so shady. Systems do have errors at times, but I guess theirs never does. They instead went all in to discredit what I was saying, belittle me, and drive home that they had no intention of helping.
The way I was treated, along with them switching to sensors I didn't even purchase, which might be the cause of my aforementioned problems I stated in my last comment, is why I suggest people not do business with them. I hope this helps and I never intended to be so vague the times before, but as you can see, it is quite the story.
      Cheers!

      Much appreciated

@@videogamevegas Their website is a little bit of a mess that's for sure. There is different links to different parts of the store. There is a link to MX24 with a lower price that is unreachable from anywhere on their main webpage. I only found it because they posted the direct link on YT. Then when you click on "Order yours here" it takes you to a page with very limited selection of the the original red/blue guns. Then when you manage to find a page where it says "get your guns here" you get even different packages! Then there is a page where you can select a lot more, yet I can never reproduce it how to find it again! It's buried somewhere, but you have to have basket visible in order to access. Yeah, it really very poorly setup.
In the future I'd suggest to take photos of the screen with your camera. I always do that so no one can deny what was visible.

Yes. You can also choose to have them off or on for individual games.
