May the lights of Diwali illuminate all of us, especially anyone living in darkness right now. All Indian sweets are wonderful but I have a real taste for halwa and sooji, which we used to get as part of a very cheap veg thali meal on our uni campus a long time ago.
Happy Diwali you absolute legend. My favourite indian sweets are gulab jamuns.............. i could eat them for breakfast , lunch and dinner......................thank you
I'm not going to make this just for me, but I am going to buy some gulab jamun tomorrow, and hope to have an excuse to make it some time! It's one of my favourite desserts.
Omg! I thank you so much for this it’s my all time favourite and your recipe is so easy I will definitely be cooking this my dear mother used to cook these for us 😢
Promises made, promises kept! I love how you clocked in at 20 minutes. Also, thank you for showing the struggles with oil temperature because everybody else cuts that out and that makes me think I’m incompetent but now I see it’s normal. For me, gulab jamun is actually one of my least favorite mishti, but now that I see how easy it is to make, I wonder if I could come up with a version that I enjoy more. Thank you and happy Diwali!
Happy Diwali!! Gulab Jamun is just amazing it reminds me of juicy doughnut holes. I really like Kaju katli either plain or with the silver foil. My last favorite is milk barfi with pistachios but I'll settle for the toasted flavor of besan bafi.
Chef thank you🙏 immensely for the Joy of Giving. and sharing.. The Power of Gratitude. ... Strengthening Bonds and Relationships. ... Embracing Inner Light. ... Wishing you and your dear ones a Diwali filled with love and laughter.Shubh Deepavali🥰🙏Regards from Mauritius!
Loved this recipe Chetna. Definitely going to make this for my Diwali dinner party on Friday. Would love some menu ideas that's not the usual boring saag paneer and jeera rice and naan and chole and rajma 😅
Wonderful Gulab Jamuns ❤!! And, Since you asked, the one sweet in my household without which Diwali is incomplete is Puran Poli (we call it Obbattu here in Karnataka) 😄
Hi🙋🏻♀️my dear sister Chetna & everyone 🗺️🕊️🫶 Gulab jammun my favourite ❤️ we always buy them mostly all the Mithai🤦🏻♀️Although, I love cooking everything. Thanks for sharing your easy peasy recipe & I’ll be making it👍 Happy 🫶Diwali 🪔🫶everyone! I always wanted to know could we dip gulab jamans in melted chocolate instead of the sugar syrup? (Just thinking if they would be too dry if not immersed in the syrup)
Looks really good! I plan to try. My only concern is weighing water since the weight of the container needs to be deducted etc. Why not give water in volume measurement like cups, ounces etc 🤔
To all those who celebrate a very happy Diwali. Incidentally, Chetna, I have the same little pestle and morta. Very useful too. Have you got a video on homemade ghee?
Chetna, does the Yogurt need to be Non-sour (i.e. 'moru' yogurt)or sour is ok? OR Thick (e.g pakeeza yogurt)or thin consistency (e.g desi yogurt)?? Pls ckarify thanks
Milk powder(skimmed/full cream) 1cup A.P.flour 1/2 cup Baking powder 1/2 tep Heavy cream as much as needed to make a soft dough. Sift all dry ingredients and add cream and knead ... round ... fry ... soak enjoy

Rasmalai is our family favourite at Diwali. Happy Diwali to you
Caster sugar is a lot more expensive, use granulated if you're gonna make a simple syrup it's far cheaper.

(Just thinking if they would be too dry if not immersed in the syrup)
What type of oil did you use pls
Happy Diwali everyone! 🪔❤️😀
Happy Diwali , have to have Chocolate barfi every Diwali
Can I make in advance and keep in fridge ?
YES
Happy Diwali 🍷
Looks really good! I plan to try. My only concern is weighing water since the weight of the container needs to be deducted etc. Why not give water in volume measurement like cups, ounces etc 🤔
The weight I am giving you is of the water not the container. Gms and ML is the right way to be cooking and baking.
To all those who celebrate a very happy Diwali.
Incidentally, Chetna, I have the same little pestle and morta. Very useful too. Have you got a video on homemade ghee?
yes I have, just search on my channel
