“You better say no,” she strongly replied when you alluded to the fact that she was homeless. What she meant was, if you can’t provide a comfortable roof over her head, there’s a lot of guys in the Philippines who can and will do. 😂
It's horrific how the former landlord didn't do his job. I am very glad that you are out of there. Hats off to John for being a true friend, and allowing you to stay there at his place while you find your new home. I'm sure it's a huge relief.
That landlord has NO SHAME, all they want is MONEY! So disgusting, that with all the issues you have told them about their house, they tern a deaf ear. It's good that you got out from that HORROR. Never mind if lost some amount of money, because KARMA has its way to them.
What is disgusting is they cannot live in their own country because they fucked up theirs and now they want to rob us of our lands? Are you stupid or what?
Good luck kids ……. I missed you guys numerous times while I was on Boracay for 3 months. I was looking at places in Iloilo too. I didn’t find much in Iloilo that I felt comfortable with except condos , but they where tiny and over prices. Currently in Thailand……. very happy…
I feel so bad for you two, but you have great friends their to help you out. The landlord should be ashamed of themselves. They should, without question, give you your two months of rent back. Everything you have been through, all the repairs you did, everything you had to pay for with all the electrical problems you had and not being able to have lights in different parts of the house. Your friend John is not just a great friend, but has a beautiful home!! If I was there I would of helped you with whatever you needed and I’m sure many more subscribers would say the same!! You two are awesome people!! Stay positive!!
I am so sorry to hear this. I know of condos available in Avida but I know that might not be an option for you. Good luck and hope you find a good and safe place.
Last time I moved out of a apartment in Cebu I took my laptop a plastic table and chairs then another like smalll plastic table i used for my computer while i sat on the end of the bed. And a mattress. We gave I back in better condition than we rented. But guess what no deposit returned seems like the last month's utilities was 5 times what we normally used. YES RIGHT!!!!
There's plenty of good places around the city. Just my opinion, it's either somewhere around Jaro Plaza or Molo Plaza area. You'll have easy access heading to bus terminals when you plan a trip outside the city. You're also going to have easy access to a lot of necessities and there's less power outage. It is more convenient. Hopefully you guys could find a good deal.
Hi. That place in Jaro near the hospital has a much better location than your old rental. There are two grocery stores and a mini mall right at the main entrance to the highway.
Aloha. I’m new to your station and I am so sorry for what you both had to go through with “greedy” landlord(s). It’s probably too late, but you should have taken back what you put in to the house. Don’t ever let any landlord take advantage of you. I hope you put things in writing and check your next place for any and all flaws. Take care.
I was in Iloilo from mid April to May. Just got back to the state. Yes Home is home and there’s no place like home but the heat and humidity is no fun at all. Taking about a house in Iloilo, a house is nice but with constant brown outs and other issues you better invest something like a good condo with power generator.
Once Bianca has citizenship then we will look for land and build and generator and solar is the plan. So we don't want a condo especially locking into one with the market so high now, literally the prices have tripped in 4 years
@@BiancaBeyond This is why we purchased a Condo in Jaro to be completed in 2026 or 2027 and we purchased 1500 square meter lot for building a house in future on Guimaras Island , the prices are going to get even higher once they put that bridge in between Guimaras Island and Iloilo City
If u r still homeless, I can offer u to stay in our studio condo unit in one madison for a month for free so that u will have more time looking for ur ideal house. Just pay for ur electricity and water. We are not using the unit anyway, we just sometimes go there on weekend for our son to swim and play in the pool.
Best decision guys. Enough was enough. Gave the landlord more than enough chances. Very sad that you are out of pocket. Those termites were disgusting so glad ur away from that. It was not a healthy home. Onwards to better for sure. Much love xxx
Good job on all of this! You did all you could. My husband & I were in a condo in mactan newtown - many problems! The owner wouldn't do anything either. We also left after 6 months and had to forfeit our deposit. It was worth it! We moved on to a beautiful, much better condo. I'm sure you will find the perfect place. Thanks for sharing.
It seems to be difficult to dry clothes in the Philippines when it's really humid. Me and my wife were in a hotel in Manila, and honestly the wind from back to back typhoons in October 2016 actually helped. We had them hanging outside our hotel window.
Just get a clothes hanger and put a fan on low blowing constantly. Air flow is the key. They will be dry in a couple of hrs and without the smells of the neighborhood Cheers
How come? It is better to rent in CONDOS or a semi high end village in city suburbs. You must be careful to choose. The contract must be clear on both of you. Only in my own opinion..
OMG! I wanna move there. $360 per month. I’m here in Detroit, Mi paying $450 out of my social security check of just $1200 per month. And that’s government subsidized. It’s just a small studio. That place makes mine look like a joke here in the states. The grounds look well kept too there. Sorry to hear it’s to far for you guys though. I’m newly single, and ready to mingle as well. Phillipines here I come.😊👍
Like your story ! My girlfriend (From the Philippines) and I are living up here in Calgary Alberta just working hard and killing time for a few years and we are moving to the Philippines in a few years time, getting to damn expensive to live in North America anymore and all the crime and other stupidity that's going on these days, we just want to live simple, laying on a beach with a nice cold one, just enjoying life the way we should ! Cheers from Calgary Alberta 🥂🍺
Your doing the right thing and in the right way by not posting until after you moved out. Stay away from the 1 year lease's, one should only do that if they are renewing a lease. Been such a sad situation you two are such wonderful people in the future I pray other wonderful people will help you find a good place without being scammed.
I'm 41, retired and currently at $7500 a month combined etirement benefits. Thinking of just retirement back in philippines but it feels like it's too early to retire lol. Maybe I should give it 10 more year huzzling and save up. Maybe 50 is a good number
After your last experience. I would wait bro, be patient. We arrived in Pampanga in March. There's plenty of rentals in your price range. Not as scenic as where u are? Best of luck, guys
I would have gotten out of that property a few months earlier. We had rented a property just beautiful but had drain issues. Bad issues. We stayed 2 months. Best of luck finding suitable living arrangements.
Wow, a 60k deposit? That's insane. I've been here 5 years now and when I got here I absolutely refused to pay a high deposit. I was patient and looked at literally hundreds of places for rent. I finally found a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath in a gated subdivision in Cebu. I paid a total of 30k to move in and got my deposit back (15k) a year later. I have been here since. Wonderful landlords who have become family to me. I was really lucky it looks like from a lot of stories and videos I've seen. Good luck to you both!
They were probably unaware of the rental practices there. But deposit should be returned to them, when, how, it depends on the contract they entered into. They could resort to the barangay (village) captain for smooth settlement.
Maybe their monthly rent is 30k that's why they gave a 2 month deposit of 60k. The 1 mo deposit will be used on their last month of stay coz they're moving out. The remaining 1 mo deposit is for the utility bills. If the bills is smaller than the remaining deposit, the landlord should give them the remaining amount.
With the price youre paying now for your rent..you can get it here in Quezon City in a exclusive village complete with clubhouse and amenities such as tennis court, basketball court and pool.
Previous tenants likely had the same exact issue with the landlord. If the owner doesn't even bother at all, maybe the house is meant for the termites to live comfortably for the rest of its life.
Hey guys..If its not an inconvenience I would strongly suggest to look for a house in Cavite..Its near tagaytay and near NCR(Manila)..You would have the best of both world!😊
Now we all know why the people before you moved out. I'm sad for you guys especially after going along with you to find this place 6 months ago as you were so happy when moving in. These things happen and we're all glad you're moving. Onto bigger and better things!
At least you didn't jump from a 🐜Termite House into the House in the Ocean with that flooded neighbohood house. Now i know why they Poison the ground and surounding area prior to pouring the slab .
I miss the frogs and toads in Ontario, I moved to southern BC bout 8 years ago and there's basically neither here singing in the rain. I think I've seen 1 bullfrog since coming to Richmond, not a toad to be had, cheers.
You'll be ok. I bet you're ok now. Filipinos are helpful. Most that is. Also, you guys are good people. I often turn off anyone else's UA-cam. Many are narcissist or arrogant. But you are good people.
We stayed in quintin❤salas jaro 2bedroom apartment fully furnished for 15k near save more last year during our 3months vacation…not sure if they have availability this time but it’s not near jaro plaza though…hope you guys find a house soon.
Sad that you guys had to endure that inconvenience that the house owner should have opened up before you moved in to Iloilo. With the locals and friends' help, I do hope that you can find the ideal place to call as home in the City of Love.
Congratulations!! At, last you decided to move out of that old un-maintained house. It is just sad that you did not to asked for your deposit to be returned back. Good luck! 🌺🌺🌺
Make a complaint to the barangay in your area then make a blotter to the nearest police station so that in case you want to file a case against the owner it will be easier...try looking at Westwood Subdivsion.
Good for you. You gave them plenty of time to fix the wrongs. You don't need the stress of living in a mess. You should add a clause in your new lease about what should happen in fixing things should this happen again.
A shame, the house Looks gr8, Thats why we don’t have any wood in our house in Roxas City, cos of the annay (termites) wish you the best in the new place, Great channel 😊 Tom, Norway
Glad to see that you are getting out of that nightmare. You should hire a lawyer to get your money back. That isn't right what the owners did. They knew about the problem when the rented it to you. Also, good that you didn't get that apartment because sub divisions that have tanks always had water pressure problems plus the rent is to high. A place that size should be around 8 to 10k. Hopefully you find a place that is nice but be careful trusting other people. It seem like a lot of people here don't have your best interest at heart. They want to benefit themselves. My wife and I bought a house in Savannah Sub-division and we also have our problems but I figured there is problems anywhere you move here. I know you looked at Savannah before but I think you went to Glen, I'm sure you can find a house in your budget in Trails or Glades. A friend of ours is actually renting a beautiful house in Crest for 30k. Anyway where ever you look, good luck.
Why not buy? Rental payment is dead money. My wife and I own property and are landlords - good landlords. We charge our tenants under the market rate and we give them watertight contracts. We allowed them to live rent-free during the first 6 months of Covid when they were struggling. One of our properties is near a hospital so we didn't charge the nurses for over a year.
@@BiancaBeyond Ok. I understand. My wife is a Filipina citizen whom I met in HK. We bought property about 5 years ago before we relocated. Our family is pretty much settled - kids at school/university and business interests. I hope it all turns out well for you.
I’m with everyone in that I’m glad you are leaving. But I had been thinking in recent weeks or ~month that with the little (& big!) bits you’ve purchased /“collected”,been gifted/loaned, the place was really looking sweet, was starting to look your style, & appearing better & better. You two did a lot with < little. Someday I look forward to admiring your gorgeous home, I’m certain. (For those who may think, when did this non-member viewer see the house not in transition?! Lol. I’m a follower on Twitch livestreams too, so then one gets to see the place more often, not just when they’ve just arrived back or are rushing out! Lol).
Tropical areas have to be sprayed once or twice a year for bugs of all kinds, professionally. I know, I have property by the gulf of Mexico and you don`t want to cheap out on your investment.
if the owner has delicadeza they should return the 60 thou deposit for not addressing the termites for several months , it is not a good business practice.
Rent in the country, its cheaper. Peace & Quiet. Grow your own food. Its cooler because of trees and grass. Buy a car, trike or motocycle and VISIT the city any time you want.
It’s a big house , incredible not taking care of a termite, my house is small but I really put a termite contract of the termite for 8 months 😅can’t believe not talking care of a termite it’s very important especially for putting the house for rent😢😢😢
Good for you guys! No matter how beautiful is thst place, termites is very bad, high electricity and no conscience landlord, leave the place. Dont worry, you will find a better place than that.
Always include in the contract regarding pre-termination clause, which should be always separate from the basics contract. The house you've shown is already nice and neath, and good enough for two, for both of you. Just check first your neighborhood daily activities, if they are somehow noisy or smelly or fumes coming from their backyards. I think people living there are already well-inform about these problems of the neighborhoods. You could experience these things very seldom. Nice to know that you finally decided to move out from that horrible place and from this unfair treatments by former landlord. About the water, that's gonna be a little issue for both of you.
Welcome to the Philippines! Where everything is made cheap! But, the selling price is GOLD!😂 Calculate the selling price of a house in the Philippine peso to Dollars you will find the price is about the same as you would spend in the U.S. So don't believe moving out there is cheaper.
Y’all bought that Big S&R Bear? 😂. Sorry that you have to move, but I totally understand your plight. We have been living in Iloilo since 2018 and we are on our 3rd rental and may be looking for a 4th. We have experienced ALL of the same issues as y’all have in every house and more! We do have some good connections in the real estate biz here. If you need referrals, don’t hesitate to reach out!
The place look's amazing but termites crawling and creacking around the bed is like watching a horror movies yikes i hope you guy's will find a good place good luck
actually u can demand your Deposit money because they can not rent you a defective things - its consumer welfare and its in the rental law. its not due to your own decision your leaving its because of the defect! its a simple case of force majeure. so they should refund what yours! because they did not push thru with there end of the bargain. its like renting a bike then the bike has so much problem and you have to return it. its either they gave you a better bike or refund your money!
I have heard more times than not PI landlords don't return deposits, even when you stay the entire lease term. So it's better you cut your losses early. Maybe someone could comment on the thought of offering only a one month deposit when moving into a new place. At this point it seems the landlords should be giving the tenant a security deposit considering the issues and condition.
Hopefully whoever rents next will see this video. It was a great learning experience for ya'll, but an expensive one. It was also a great idea to film after you've moved everything else so the owner can't bit....err complain. What did you do with your generator?

There's plenty of good places around the city. Just my opinion, it's either somewhere around Jaro Plaza or Molo Plaza area.
They will be dry in a couple of hrs and without the smells of the neighborhood

The atmosphere is got moisture that's why it takes for a while to dry the laundry on the clothesline.
How come? It is better to rent in CONDOS or a semi high end village in city suburbs.
You must be careful to choose. The contract must be clear on both of you.
Only in my own opinion..

I’m a follower on Twitch livestreams too, so then one gets to see the place more often, not just when they’ve just arrived back or are rushing out! Lol).
Hey. Another vlogger did a video about these places. Can't remember who it was.
Tropical areas have to be sprayed once or twice a year for bugs of all kinds, professionally.
I know, I have property by the gulf of Mexico and you don`t want to cheap out on your investment.
That new place looks nice
Thank God you finally decided to move
...changing apartments is not homeless, good luck with your next video....
Leaving your apartment or home with no home or apartment is though.
if the owner has delicadeza they should return the 60 thou deposit for not addressing the termites for several months , it is not a good business practice.
Rent in the country, its cheaper. Peace & Quiet. Grow your own food. Its cooler because of trees and grass. Buy a car, trike or motocycle and VISIT the city any time you want.
Yes we brought a farm here in Tacloban area. Best choice. Quite, no traffic, nice people all around us. Cheaper living.
May want to see the utility records if at all possible. Termite expedition is a must.
It’s a big house , incredible not taking care of a termite, my house is small but I really put a termite contract of the termite for 8 months 😅can’t believe not talking care of a termite it’s very important especially for putting the house for rent😢😢😢
It reminds me of better buy a farmland and build my own house.. I'll be happy to see on what i have invested.
Good for you guys! No matter how beautiful is thst place, termites is very bad, high electricity and no conscience landlord, leave the place. Dont worry, you will find a better place than that.
Nice unit if yhere no traffic at midnight. No skamming doorswith people coming home, no yelling "ha jimbob ehere are you " that the next floor down.
Finally. Take your time finding a nicer place. Anythig near plazas will most likely be old and expensive though.
Im sure you'll have it worked out.
OMG that is the worst termites infection i ever seen. The house needs to be fully treated
Treated to a bulldozer perhaps lol
Big time treated, but the owners are too damn cheap to do so !
@@catinthehat5080 sounds like some slumlord action to me
I think that is better than the old one.
Im always curious many communities have security, is there issues? Best of luck in your search
We had great security and many do here
glad you move out
I like the new appartment
If there is no lights in the bathroom when do you know when to stop wiping?
The place look's amazing but termites crawling and creacking around the bed is like watching a horror movies yikes i hope you guy's will find a good place good luck
actually u can demand your Deposit money because they can not rent you a defective things - its consumer welfare and its in the rental law. its not due to your own decision your leaving its because of the defect! its a simple case of force majeure. so they should refund what yours! because they did not push thru with there end of the bargain. its like renting a bike then the bike has so much problem and you have to return it. its either they gave you a better bike or refund your money!
Smaller but practical apartment./ You can save a lot in there. 🥰
The Subdivision is not flooding with water but flooding with termites.
You can ask someone to move your ac and other stuff you don't have to left it behind.
The tenants usually use the deposit. They don't pay anymore for the last month (or last 2 months) of their stay in the house.
Take the aircon with you. Even if it’s destroyed.
I would leave anything wood behind and treat everything you want to keep for termites so you don't spread them to your next place.
When it rains, it pours. Good look guys, so stressful.
Wow!! That is a SEVERE termite infestation!! The owners better get that under control ASAP or they'll be left with a house made of sawdust.
Hopefully whoever rents next will see this video. It was a great learning experience for ya'll, but an expensive one. It was also a great idea to film after you've moved everything else so the owner can't bit....err complain. What did you do with your generator?
It's in storage also we are never going without one again lol
OMG, the sun is out!
have u checked previous water bill, hope its not over priced
oof, nightmares of renting 🏠 .....
hate moving as well, especially when u got a ton of stuff to pack!
Great vid
Hello Michael just move for better place living and it’s worth it to try😉😘
What a horror house. Oh my just couldn’t imagine what you guys been through. Glad to see you out of there. Good luck on your next house hunting.
