@@saultoons like a video of just the pixel art being made, but sped up to a 10 min video with muaic on the background, but detailed videos like this one are very cool too
I’m not super advanced in my own pixel art, but I think the best advice I’ve ever heard for what scale to pixel at is that the smallest detail I want to represent is one pixel big. I’m bad at estimating measurements, so recently I’ve been starting with what I expect to be the smallest detail of the piece and then scale my sketch around that to find the canvas size.

Thanks for the kind words Jei! I typically use Clip Studio these days because it has an automatic record function which is useful for UA-cam video creation, but I love Aseprite and still use it for animation or game dev
Woah, this is awesome! Thanks for sharing your process. I'm time tracking my creative work and even tiny pieces take me hours. I wonder how long it took you to get this monster done. Do you have a rough estimate? Keep up the good work. I'm really digging it.
Yo Pip, no accurate time estimate unfortunately as I worked on this off and on, learnt isometric art from scratch while making the tutorial video, and worked sometimes on stream which slows the process down significantly. I would say it's possible for me to achieve something like this in ~6-8 hours though, but I could be well off also :'D In terms of speeding up workflow, I think it helps to refine your process as much as possible, have a set pipeline of working every time to reduce the possibilities of going off a tangent, and get a lot of finished pieces under your belt going through that process. Over time you will notice ways to speed up, or areas that generally take a little longer than expected :) Thanks for watching Pip!
Loving your videos. Can I ask, how did you make that isometric grid to begin with in aseprite? I am new to the whole scene and I havent even figured that out yet!
wow that was awesome. Hi, bro. May i ask, what software did you use for sketching pixel illustrations? It is my first time to see a speedpaint of pixel art ^_^ That brush really awesome.
I have a top down tutorial, doesn’t go into character too much but what I’d say is perspective is key, you want to see less of their legs and more of their head and upper body. Gather plenty of reference, start with basic shapes if you struggle! :)

What program are you using for pixel art? I was using Piskel, but it severely lacks tools (eg. blob tool, or blending/blurring). I hear photoshop is common, but I want to know if that's what's being used here.
I like Aseprite and Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop is nice but really expensive monthly cost. I've heard great things about Piskel, I don't use Blob tool or blending/blurring so that wouldn't be an issue for me :)
@@saultoons thanks, and Idk if I used the right word for blob tool. I mean a tool that lets you paint large areas with a certain shaped brush. The only way to do it on Piskel is to draw a circle, copy it, and spam paste it (or use the default 4x4 square brush).
