You know how sometimes people say "how can anyone dislike this song/video" and you watch it, and you don't like it, and you feel sad and alone. This is not one of those times. No one...NO ONE...can dislike this.
I saw them live a few years back, at a bar/club. When they played this song, Dan got the whole place singing along and clapping by hopping on the bar encouraging ever body to join in singing "Robots need love too, they want to be loved by you!"
Oh man his Osheaga performance was amazing- the way he engages the crowd in such a chill way yet still energizes everyone- especially the guy with the robot hat- that must have made one hell of a FB status
Saw Dan in Glasgow last night, best gig I've been to. Sang along to every song in the front row, and in the middle of Robots he brought me, my girlfriend and our friend up on stage to sing Robots need love too! Thankyou Dan for one of the best moments of my life!
he had us singing this in holland park, surrey and i don't think anyone could get those lines out of their head for the rest of the night ROBOTS NEED LOVE TOO! THEY WANT TO BE LOVED BY YOU!
I have loved this song for ages now and only just found this video. Words cannot express how much I love it. It is incredible and beautifully filmed and hilarious and wonderful and it is one of my favourite things this year so far.
Summer Live was amazing. Singing along to Robots with thousands of other people, Aidan Knight singing Jasper, and that guy with the robot mask being pulled up onto the stage.. This is why I love Vancouver.
A part of me doesn't want him to be famous, because I want to keep him in a little pocket for myself. But then, seeing him on television performing for Canada day makes me feel so proud for him, like I'm sending my child off to college. I feel like I've been watching him grow as an artist. Can't wait to see him perform again, tomorrow. FOR FREE! :)
pure unadulterated awesome. I wore out my voice singing this last night thinking I was over my cold. Now I am miserable and at home sick but still watching and humming along.
This may be my favourite music video. Ever. Dan was at Osheaga yesterday, and this song was turned into a fantastic sing-along of "Robots need love too..." So great.
His Osheaga performance was one of the best of the weekend! I had heard a few of his songs prior to his performance but fell completely in love with him by the end of the set. 'Robots' was perfect.
Amazing to see everyone out in Surrey this was extremely smooth and should be done more often. Coming together as a city! all of you that came out were awesome.
Oh my Gosh; this video actually made me cry. So well done; like honestly, you all are genius. I wish you nothing but the best in all of your careers. Take care of the robots!
Dan...if I could personally tell you how much I love your music that would be awesome....your in my top 4....i like other bands but no one as consistantly as you , connor oberst, david bazan&, the avett brothers...thanks for the good music!
This song makes me cry for some reason. Saw him in Edmonton on saturday, first time I'd heard him and it really moves me for some reason I can't identify.
@preyneke You've misunderstood the mesage in the video. The robots in the song symbolize gangs, and that even though they are there to be pitted against each other, they need love too, just like everyone else. Very powerful message and very excellent music.

My opinion is that Dan Mangan and company are a National Treasure. Great Song.
I saw them live a few years back, at a bar/club. When they played this song, Dan got the whole place singing along and clapping by hopping on the bar encouraging ever body to join in singing "Robots need love too, they want to be loved by you!"
that accurately describes when I saw him live -great times
Oh man his Osheaga performance was amazing- the way he engages the crowd in such a chill way yet still energizes everyone- especially the guy with the robot hat- that must have made one hell of a FB status
Them Canadian gangs are vicious!!
Yup. I'm fucking scared!!
This is such a beautiful song, I'd be surprised if someone didn't feel something. 10/5

I think the video speaks to the idea that the world needs more compassion and less competition, especially harmful (i.e. fighting) competition.
he had us singing this in holland park, surrey and i don't think anyone could get those lines out of their head for the rest of the night

This is the best music video ever. Beautiful.
I first heard this at camp years ago. Still makes me think of it, both in subject matter and because of when I heard it.
A part of me doesn't want him to be famous, because I want to keep him in a little pocket for myself.

I love this song even more since I got a mechanical heart valve.
pure unadulterated awesome. I wore out my voice singing this last night thinking I was over my cold. Now I am miserable and at home sick but still watching and humming along.
"WHAT IS MY PURPOSE"
"You pit-fight with other robots for the amusement of hipsters-playing-gangsters"
"OH MY GOD..."
"Yeah, welcome to the club pal"
Geez Rick
Can't help but think of the movie "The Iron Giant" when I hear this song.

This may be my favourite music video. Ever.
Dan was at Osheaga yesterday, and this song was turned into a fantastic sing-along of "Robots need love too..." So great.
Making a grown man cry. Love you Dan Mangan. Thanks Scottie.
Feeling a bit blue right now and this song made me feel better. Thanks!

Wow. I was on Parliament Hill and heard you play this. My new FAVOURITE song! Canadians ROCK!!
Thanks for the background on what inspired the song. I found it very interesting. I guess robots are smarter than we thought!
Amazing to see everyone out in Surrey this was extremely smooth and should be done more often. Coming together as a city! all of you that came out were awesome.
This is the happiest thing I've ever seen.
Please tell me I'm not the only one listening to this song that understands this is much more deep than a cool/funny music video
***** You're not.
+Adam Walsh you are the Chosen One
Adam Walsh your not the only one
I loved Dan's performance of this at Osheaga!! The guy with the robot head definitely helped
slightly over the top, but at the same time, brilliant. I love the message this put forth.
Vancouver 125 years. Amazing show. Proud Vancouverite :D
Oh my Gosh; this video actually made me cry. So well done; like honestly, you all are genius. I wish you nothing but the best in all of your careers.

10 years and one day later. First time seeing the video for the song. Love it.

So good. I was in Ottawa yesterday and had the pleasure of seeing him perform for the first time. Definitely impressed me, I'm hooked now!

Just saw you live in Vancouver & you wished a guy named Oscar happy birthday and I'm confident it made everyone's day!
This perfectly represents the duel inside my soul between Dan and said the whale for greatest 80's gang ever

The ending with everyone singing as a group at parliament was the best part of the whole night!
