I have to say, I am not big western movie fan, but in listening to Kevin talk, what he said makes me want to go see it. The fact he believes in himself so much, that he said he doesn't have to wait to see if the movie is well received, he is going to continue to make it to its completion and pay for it with his own money. A true artist doesn't look for approval to do art, the art is who they are. Bravo Kevin 👏
I went to see it yesterday. I’m still thinking about it, and will absolutely see all of the others. Kevin is an inspiring artist at the top of his game, putting his money where his mouth is. They don’t make movies like this anymore, but he does :)

I saw this film yesterday and it is compelling; The American diverse ethnic tapestry is evident as Glynn Turman's presence reminded me of the context of author Pearl Cleage's 'Going West' ; the powerful role of the diverse ethnic history of the USA and the significant role of the US Military in 'winning the west' is often overlooked in usual Hollywood 'westerns'. Looking forward to Part 2....and reading the book also.
The Film "The Postman" you see Kevin Costner's personality and character I'm Convinced of this.. A special film from a special actor director.. He is also a fan of Sean Connery and Burt Lancasters work which to me says a lot..😊😊 He has directed many special films a TV serials and understands that legacy, history & the truth, shapes our lives and our world..

After Clint made such great Westerns, we have Kevin maintaining the genre. Aside from the epic DANCES WITH WOLVES, he made one of my favourite Westerns, OPEN RANGE, so I'm looking forward to his multi-movie HORIZON. Westerns are all about the ethics of behaviour and no genre encompasses this better than Westerns. Maybe film noir comes close but not many of those are made anymore either.

Yes, I saw the movie yesterday and kevin‘s right about so many things .. horses do need water and after 14 miles in the hot desert, some of them collapse and died ..and a woman on a dusty Santa Fe Trail probably needed to feel clean. Heck I go out in the mountains for the day camping overnight and I want to take a shower. The script.. the movie was well done except for one thing ..I thought there was too much violence, but then that’s how it was !!
Glad Costner wants to focus on making art, if he did waste his time considering what's 'more commercially viable' he wouldn't have been able to take risks or make his vision, this movie might not make a lot of money but it'll be his art and that's what matters in the dull passionless film industry of studio execs, streaming service content algorithm and tech companies nowadays

I think it's a great decision to play them back-to-back. We don't know what's going to happen we don't know if there's going to be a strike or another freaking covid thing going on and we're going to have to wait for 100 years like we did with Maverick but you know whatever the case we want to see it and we don't want to wait 10 years in between or 20 years in between or whatever. So I think it was a smart decision and I'm looking forward to seeing them back to back so that I can keep up and have the feelings that I need to feel going into the next round and as far as Mr Costner paying for it himself he's done so many things his way and he's come out on top and I have no doubt that he's going to still have a house standing when this all gets done and if not you know what he can come and rent a room from me

I saw Horizon tonight but I’m not sure what to make of it. I know there is another second part to it but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I’m just not sure what to make of it. The movie is incomplete. It leaves you hanging in the middle of what seems to be disparate stories. I like stories but I think Hollywood has gotten bad at telling stories. It’s like the movie people don’t even know what a story is. Without a story there is no point in making any movie. People will have to judge for themselves.
